Chapter 526 Delivering Medicine
Sawyer stood to the side, rolling his eyes.
He really couldn't understand why Joshua, who was always so decisive about everything else, seemed to become a completely different person whenever it came to Isolde.
But Sawyer couldn't be bothered with them.
They weren't even together yet, but they were already acting all lovey-dovey every day.
Sophia was so much better - beautiful, smart, excellent, and focused on her career.
Suddenly, the comments that appeared online during Sophia's wedding flashed through his mind.
Many people were just watching and offering congratulations, but there was also a group of people who held malicious intentions toward Sophia.
"Pretty women always want to marry into wealthy families."
"Look at her belly, she must be pregnant, right? Could it be she got pregnant before marriage? Women these days really have no self-respect."
"I'm waiting for her to get dumped. Women who marry into wealthy families are just after status and power, relying on men anyway. Without a man, they're nothing."
......
When Sawyer saw these comments, he almost lost his mind with anger.
What do you mean by "marry into a wealthy family"?
Sophia was Robert's student. If she wanted, she could make tons of money just by doing a few consultations. Why would she need to rely on a man?
What right did these clueless internet users have to criticize her like this?
That day, alone in his hotel room, he angrily typed out a response, wanting to fight back.
But just before hitting send, he finally realized something.
He was using his verified Facebook account.
With tens of millions of followers watching the feed, the account held significant power over public opinion. Actually posting the material would be like setting off a bomb in the press. The resulting uproar in the entertainment industry would be impossible to contain, potentially ending careers and forcing major studios to issue immediate, high-stakes damage control statements.
He was a public figure and had to be mindful of his image at all times.
So he switched to his alternate account.
He went through and argued back against every comment insulting Sophia, even forgetting to look at his script.
The next day, during filming, he almost got chewed out by Joshua.
But he was willing to accept it.
It was because they hadn't fulfilled their responsibilities as brothers that they couldn't even get an invitation to Sophia's wedding.
So all they could do was quietly follow Sophia's news.
Maybe arguing with people online was childish, and there was even a risk of his real identity being discovered.
But he didn't regret it at all.
This was the only thing he could do for his sister as her brother.
Besides, he hoped Sophia would be happy.
He didn't know Benjamin, but he could tell that Sophia really liked Benjamin.
And Sophia wasn't Olivia, and Benjamin wasn't Hayden.
So Sophia and Benjamin would definitely be happy!
This was something Sawyer firmly believed.
Back in the quiet of her office, Sophia moved quickly to her desk and pulled out her medicine kit. She rummaged through the supplies, the plastic bottles rattling until she located the three she needed. Gripping them firmly, she turned and hurried back toward the room, her focus entirely on the task at hand.
She handed the bottles to Joshua and Sawyer.
"The black bottle is burn medicine, the green bottle is scar removal cream. You can use them for the injured staff members."
Sawyer listened carefully, waiting for Sophia to continue.
He didn't expect that one of the medicines was actually for him.
He had heard before that the medicines Sophia developed were really amazing and that her medicines were so hard to get, but he had never seen any of her medicines before.
So this was really from Sophia, right?
Really?
He wasn't dreaming, was he?
He could hardly believe what was happening.
The medicine bottle in his hand was delicate and small, slightly cool to the touch.
Sawyer stood there stunned, unable to react for a moment.
Until Sophia's voice sounded in his ear: "This bottle is for treating external injuries. You have several bruises on your body, you can try applying it."
"Okay! I'll definitely apply it properly and won't waste any of it!"
Sawyer gripped the bottle tightly, his eyes full of emotion.
Sophia was so good to him!
Sophia said helplessly, "Use it however you want. Once I give it to you, it's yours."
Sophia felt like she was meeting Sawyer for the first time.
He had really changed so much compared to before.
In the past, she hadn't seen Sawyer many times, only two or three meetings total.
Back then, Sawyer didn't talk much, so she couldn't tell what kind of person he was.
After today's interaction, she realized Sawyer actually had such a childish side.
Sawyer scratched his head embarrassedly, carefully cradling the medicine bottle in his palm.
He asked Sophia: "If I run out, can I come find you again?"
Sophia looked at him with a complicated expression and said, "Your injuries aren't serious, you won't even use a third of it."
After a pause, she added, "If you run out, you can go buy more at the Lumina Group stores. The effects are the same."
This product had been on the market for a while, but had recently undergone a complete upgrade.
Mainly for Magnus's facial scars.
Magnus was badly injured, with scars covering almost his entire face.
Besides the burn medicine, she had also improved the scar removal cream.
That was the bottle Joshua was holding.
After giving out the medicine, Sophia still had other patients to see, so she turned and left.
When it was time to leave work in the evening, Sawyer still hadn't left.
He was standing in front of Sophia's office, hesitating about whether to knock.
But just as he raised his hand, the office door opened.
Sophia looked at him in surprise: "Is there something else?"
Sawyer felt a bit embarrassed, but still gathered his courage to ask: "Can I take you to dinner? Don't worry, it won't take up too much of your time. I just want to thank you."
"If you're talking about treating your injuries, that's not necessary. It's my duty as a doctor."
"No!" Sawyer quickly denied, "I want to ask you for a favor."
Sophia looked at him, puzzled: "What favor?"
Sawyer looked around and shook his head: "It's not convenient to talk here."
Sophia was silent for a while, then stepped aside: "Come in and talk. You don't need to take me to dinner. This is my office, no one will hear us."
The soundproofing in this office was pretty good.
Plus, there were cameras installed outside the office - if anyone tried to eavesdrop, they could be found out with a simple check.
