Chapter 516 So Obedient
After Tamsin left, Sophia immediately asked with concern, "Lowell, are you okay?"
Lowell shook his head and reached up to touch where Tamsin had scratched him, looking a bit embarrassed.
He thought he could block Tamsin's attack, but he was still a step too late.
Without looking, he knew there must be several scratches on his face.
Sophia sighed helplessly, "Come on, let me take you to get that treated."
Lowell immediately followed her.
He was secretly delighted.
Sophia didn't know what he was thinking. After all, Lowell had gotten hurt because of her, so she felt obligated to take him to for treatment.
However, after they finished applying the medicine, Lowell suddenly stopped her, "Sophia, can I invite you to lunch?"
Sophia didn't want to agree at first, but Lowell had just saved her, and she couldn't just turn her back on him so quickly.
After thinking it over, she agreed.
"Okay."
Lowell's eyes lit up, and he immediately unlocked his phone to check nearby restaurants.
Finally, he found a Western restaurant only two kilometers away from Harmony Hospital.
Sophia had no objections. She put away the medical kit and left the hospital with him.
She also sent Benjamin a message, telling him she was having lunch with a colleague and wouldn't be coming back soon.
As they left the hospital, Lowell told her that Harmony Hospital was really short on doctors lately.
Several doctors had just been transferred from other hospitals a while ago, and now they were being sent away for training.
Sophia listened and nodded along.
If Harmony Hospital weren't short-handed, they wouldn't have asked her to come.
Lowell reminded her, "If you're thinking of staying long-term, feel free to ask any questions."
"Okay."
During the meal, Lowell did most of the talking while Sophia just nodded in response.
She and Lowell weren't that close to begin with, and she wasn't interested in any man besides Benjamin.
So there were many topics she couldn't really engage with.
Lowell kept talking about things that had happened to him over the past two years.
He also kept asking how she'd been doing.
This made Sophia feel a bit uncomfortable, but out of respect for Francis, she couldn't just leave directly.
When they finished eating and came out of the restaurant, she saw a familiar car parked by the roadside at the entrance, and her eyes lit up.
"Benjamin!"
She said goodbye to Lowell and immediately ran toward Benjamin.
Benjamin quickly stepped forward, opening his arms to pull her into his embrace, reminding her softly, "Be careful, don't fall."
"I'm just happy to see you! Why did you come? Didn't I tell you I had plans with someone else for lunch today?"
"I happened to be passing by and just saw you coming out," Benjamin answered.
Sophia gave him a sidelong glance. What a coincidence that would be!
But she didn't call him out on it.
Lowell stood at the entrance, watching helplessly as Sophia was pulled into Benjamin's arms, feeling an inexplicable sorrow swelling in his heart.
He closed his eyes hard, then turned and left quietly.
When Sophia was about to get in the car, she looked back and found that Lowell was already gone.
That afternoon, Sophia didn't show up at the hospital.
Francis's surgery had been successful, and now he just needed good care from the hospital.
In other words, there was nothing left for her to do.
The hospital wasn't busy today, and the other doctors could handle things.
Besides, Sophia was a specially hired doctor, not a regular employee.
She didn't need to stay at the hospital all the time and could leave whenever she wanted.
Benjamin drove her directly to an office building in the business district.
The entire office building was the White Group's branch.
This was Sophia's first time here.
"This is where I'll be working from now on."
Sophia wasn't going to leave Harmony City right away, and Benjamin couldn't just do nothing every day.
So after weighing his options, he decided to come to the White Group's branch office.
The White Group's branch office was doing reasonably well, though Harmony City wasn't the White family's territory.
The Smith family and the Armstrong family were the two major powers in Harmony City.
The White family's main business was all in Silverlight City.
After arriving here, Benjamin set his first goal: to make a name for the White Group's branch office.
He planned to spend the next two or three months developing and expanding the White Group's branch.
Sophia followed Benjamin to his office.
The employees at the White Group's branch couldn't help but show amazement when they saw Sophia.
Sophia smiled and greeted them, her smile sweet and warm.
Many people were momentarily dazed.
By the time they came to their senses, Sophia had already been led into the elevator by Benjamin.
Then the employees began discussing excitedly.
"So that's Mrs. White! I saw her on a screen by the roadside yesterday!"
"I didn't expect her to look even better in person than on TV. She's absolutely gorgeous!"
"She looks so young and sweet. If Mr. White's presence wasn't so intimidating, I would have loved to go talk to her!"
Sophia had no idea what a stir her appearance had caused.
She was led by Benjamin into his office, and then she started feeling sleepy due to tiredness.
Normally, after performing surgery, she would rest for a while.
But, because of her pregnancy, she became even more prone to drowsiness.
