Chapter 412 Gregory Returns
What Sophia didn't know was that Benjamin had been bored during his hospital stay these past few days, so he asked Chase to get him some romance novels to read.
Although he found the plots childish, he couldn't help wanting to keep reading.
He even learned some techniques from them for improving relationships between couples.
This was his first time putting them into practice.
The novels said that men showing appropriate vulnerability could win women's favor.
As he spoke, he watched for changes in Sophia's expression.
Until Sophia felt uncomfortable under his intense gaze and reluctantly agreed to help him bathe.
When no one was looking, a gleam of triumph flashed in his eyes.
However pleased he was with himself, Sophia was equally exasperated.
She had no idea how many hours that bath took.
All she knew was that when she came out of the bathroom, every muscle in her body was exhausted.
Sophia just wanted to collapse on the bed and sleep.
Originally, Sophia had wanted to get it done quickly, but Benjamin had other ideas.
As Sophia wrung out the towel to wipe his body, he wouldn't stay still at all.
One moment he was playing with her hair, the next he was grabbing her hand and pressing it against his firm chest, asking if she was satisfied.
Sophia's heart raced as he teased her, her cheeks flushing an unusual shade of red.
In the end, Sophia had to be pulled in to bathe together, with him claiming it was about "being completely open with each other."
If it weren't for the fact that he was a patient, Sophia would have loved to just throw him out.
By the time Sophia emerged from the bathroom covering her swollen lips, it was already 2 AM.
She lay down on the hospital bed, pulled the covers over herself, and immediately fell asleep.
This was the first time Sophia had slept with her back to Benjamin.
Compared to her exhaustion, Benjamin was surprisingly energetic.
He slowly moved closer to Sophia, pulling her tightly into his arms from behind.
"Honey, still mad?"
Sophia was incredibly tired, his warm breath filling her ears.
Her body shifted uncomfortably in his embrace, "Go away."
Don't disturb her sleep.
Benjamin knew she was worn out, so he stopped bothering her and instead lowered his head to gently kiss her temple.
"Sleep well, goodnight, my Sophia."
Benjamin tightened his arms around her and soon fell into a deep sleep as well.
When he woke up the next morning, he found the space beside him empty.
Benjamin instinctively reached out to touch it and found it still held a trace of warmth.
He sat up in bed and walked straight toward the bathroom.
In the bathroom, Sophia was standing in front of the mirror getting ready.
Today was an important day for her because Gregory was coming back.
In just over an hour, Gregory's flight would arrive at Silverlight City airport.
So she had gotten up extra early to get ready and pick him up.
To show how much she cared, she had put on simple, light makeup.
Her features already combined charm and innocence, and now with the light makeup, her elegant temperament stood out even more.
Making her even more captivating.
After finishing her makeup, she admired herself in the mirror for a while.
Just as she was about to leave the bathroom, Benjamin knocked on the door from outside.
"Sophia, are you in there?"
"I'm here!" Sophia called out toward the door.
Then the door was pushed open from outside by Benjamin.
Benjamin's tall figure appeared in the doorway, looking inside.
"All dressed up so pretty, where are you going?"
Sophia answered honestly, "Gregory's flight is arriving soon, I'm about to go pick him up."
She turned around, stood on her tiptoes to gently touch his hair, "You stay put at the hospital, and later I'll introduce you to Gregory."
Come to think of it, Benjamin hadn't met Gregory yet.
Benjamin thought to himself, what's so great about meeting Gregory?
He had already checked the files. Chase's investigation was very detailed, covering Gregory's entire life from childhood to now. He probably knew Gregory better than Gregory knew himself at this point.
At the same time, Benjamin felt a little secretly pleased because Sophia was going to introduce him to someone important to her.
Wasn't this a sign of how much Sophia valued him?
But still, just picking someone up from the airport - did Sophia really need to dress up this nicely?
His gaze fell on Sophia's red lips with lipstick, his deep eyes darkening as he slowly moved closer.
Sophia was caught off guard as he embraced her and couldn't help laughing, "Don't mess around, I spent a long time on my makeup!"
Benjamin lowered his head, pressing his forehead against hers and gently nuzzling her, "Mrs. White, aren't you being a bit too nice to Gregory? You even put on makeup specially for him and dressed up so carefully."
His tone was thick with jealousy.
Sophia couldn't help but argue back, "Every time you go out, don't you also wear a suit and tie and dress yourself up all neat?"
She felt her look today was just normal, just with a bit of light makeup compared to usual.
If it weren't such a hassle, she would dress up this nicely every day.
After all, what girl doesn't love looking good?
She huffed lightly and added, "I don't know who it is that attracts so much attention every time he goes out, making so many women like him."
Benjamin paused, then chuckled softly, "Really? Then next time I go out I'll just wear a potato sack."
Sophia shamelessly imagined that scene in her mind and couldn't help laughing out loud.
"Then I'd probably see you on the news."
And probably be stared at like some weirdo.
Seeing her laugh so happily, the curve of Benjamin's lips deepened as he wrapped his one good arm around her slender, soft waist, "Sophia, take me with you to pick him up."
He'd been stuck in the hospital so long, he felt like he was getting moldy and needed to get some fresh air outside.
Sophia thought for a moment, then nodded in agreement, "Okay, I'll tell the director. Your other injuries are basically healed anyway."
Benjamin was young and strong, his wounds healed quickly, and with the special ointment Sophia had developed, he was basically fine now.
Except for his fractured arm - the cast couldn't come off yet.
After a simple breakfast, Sophia took Benjamin and left the hospital, heading to the airport to pick up Gregory.
They arrived at the airport just as Gregory's flight was landing.
As soon as Sophia walked in, she spotted his figure. She excitedly waved, "Gregory, over here!"
Gregory was about the same age as Sophia, tall and on the thin side, wearing simple casual sportswear.
Gregory had covered himself up completely with a baseball cap and mask, with headphones hanging around his neck.
Even though you couldn't see Gregory's face clearly, it couldn't hide his distinctive presence.
Passersby kept looking at him, probably thinking he was some celebrity leaving the airport, yet puzzled by the lack of crazy fans there to greet him.
Gregory spotted Sophia in the crowd right away and quickened his pace toward her.
Gregory came up to her and immediately reached out to ruffle her fluffy hair, "You've grown quite a bit taller."
