Chapter 366 Really Good
When Finnley got home that evening, Emma told him about Hayden's visit to the White Manor during the day.
Finnley's expression turned serious as he pressed, "What did he say to Sophia?"
Emma hesitated for a moment before saying, "It seems he came asking for money. Mrs. White didn't give him any, and he even tried to get physical."
"What? He got physical? Is Sophia hurt?" Finnley looked worried.
Emma waved her hand, "Mr. White, don't worry. Mrs. White is fine. It was Hayden who got hurt."
Thinking about how Hayden fled in panic, Emma felt a sense of satisfaction.
Who does he think he is, daring to come to the White Manor demanding money like that?
How could there be such a father who would harm his own daughter like this?
Hayden was worse than an animal.
Finnley slowly let out a breath of relief. Without asking further questions, he strode toward the second floor.
His steps were hurried, his expression urgent.
Emma watched his retreating figure and couldn't help but silently reflect.
Everyone said Benjamin had lost his memory and didn't remember Sophia, but from these small details, you could tell his love for Sophia had never changed.
She hoped this couple could stay together and not have to go through any more hardships.
Upstairs in the bedroom, Sophia had just hung up the phone when she heard hurried footsteps outside the door.
She looked up to see Finnley pushing open the half-closed door and walking in.
"Finnley, you're back?"
Finnley walked up to her, grabbed her arms and looked her up and down. Only after confirming she really wasn't injured did he slowly breathe a sigh of relief.
"What's wrong?" Sophia looked up at him, confused.
"Nothing. I heard Hayden came to ask you for money today?" Finnley pulled her to sit down on the sofa together before asking calmly.
Sophia nodded, her expression neutral. "Yes, Hayden disappeared for two years. I'd almost forgotten about him."
She never expected him to suddenly reappear after two years.
Hayden was still as greedy as ever, not changed at all.
"If he comes over again, just have someone throw him out." Finnley's eyes narrowed slightly, a bloodthirsty glint flashing in them.
Hayden was now all alone. Apart from Isabella, he had practically nothing.
People at the end of their rope were the most dangerous, because you never knew what extreme things they might do when pushed to the edge.
"Okay, I understand." Sophia nodded in agreement.
Finnley's furrowed brow finally relaxed. He reached out and ruffled her hair. "Good girl."
Sophia's cheeks flushed slightly. Why did he always do this, treating her like a child?
Suddenly there was a knock at the door, and Emma's anxious voice came from outside. "Mr. White, Mrs. White, Clifton is here!"
In the room, Sophia and Finnley looked at each other, their hearts immediately lifting with joy.
"Is Clifton coming at this time because there's been new progress with your treatment?" Sophia's heart was full of excitement as she pulled Finnley toward the door.
"Don't rush, Clifton's not going anywhere."
Seeing Sophia's expectant yet nervous expression, Finnley smiled helplessly.
Sophia narrowed her eyes and glared at him. "How can you not be nervous at all? Hurry up."
"Okay."
With that, Finnley also quickened his pace and headed out.
Downstairs in the living room, Clifton was sitting on the sofa. Preston's smile was noticeably deeper than last time.
"Clifton, is the method you mentioned really effective? Does that mean Finnley can be saved?"
Clifton took a sip of water and quickly waved his hand. "I can't guarantee yet whether it will work. I can only say let's try first."
Finnley's psychological defenses were really too strong. Even someone like him who had done psychological research for so many years was encountering this for the first time.
It showed just how deep his guard against people was.
After leaving the White Manor last time, he'd been researching all kinds of materials and even asked many colleagues if they had any good methods.
This afternoon he finally found a new hypnosis technique, so he rushed to the White Manor right away.
Sophia and Finnley came downstairs and greeted Preston and Clifton.
"Sit, sit. Clifton says there's a new treatment method he can try with you."
Finnley raised an eyebrow, his expression still calm and indifferent, looking not very interested.
"What kind of method is it? Is it very risky?" Sophia asked urgently.
Right now she only cared about Finnley's condition. As long as he could live healthily, nothing else mattered.
Clifton shook his head with a serious expression. "The risk is greater than ordinary treatment methods, but Mr. Bryant's condition is quite serious, so ordinary methods don't work on him."
Sophia looked at Finnley, her eyes questioning. "Finnley, can you accept this? If not, we won't try it."
After all, no matter what he became, as long as he was still himself, she would always stay by his side.
Meeting Sophia's clear, bright eyes, Finnley nodded firmly. "I want to try."
At first, he actually didn't care much about his memories. After all, he liked Sophia simply because he was attracted to her, not for any other reason.
But now, the longer he spent with Sophia and the White family, the more he wanted to know what his former self was like.
The smile on Preston's face slowly faded. Finally, he let out a deep sigh. "Since you've already made up your mind, then go ahead."
Finnley was raised by him. He understood Finnley's personality best.
Once Finnley made up his mind, no matter what others said, he wouldn't easily change it.
Since he knew he couldn't persuade Finnley, he might as well let him do as he wished.
Led by Preston, Clifton went to the study again.
Before formally starting the treatment, Clifton chatted with Finnley for a bit as usual, letting his mind gradually relax.
After about ten minutes, he lifted his wrist to check the time and said, "Let's begin. You can lie down on the sofa."
Finnley lay down on the sofa and slowly closed his eyes.
Clifton slowly moved closer, murmuring beside him in a gentle, soothing tone.
Finnley's eyes were tightly closed, his slender hands resting on his abdomen, as if he were asleep.
Clifton softly called his name. "Finnley? Are you Finnley?"
Finnley: "Yes."
"Then are you Benjamin? Who is Benjamin?" Clifton guided him step by step.
But just then, Finnley, who should have been hypnotized, suddenly opened his eyes. They were clear and alert.
Clifton was startled and stared at him for several seconds.
Finnley sat up from the sofa, his gaze sharp and cold, his eyes full of resistance as he looked at him.
He rubbed his forehead, feeling a sense of defeat.
It seemed they'd failed again.
"Clifton, your hypnosis still doesn't seem to work on me," Finnley said quietly, coming to his senses.
Clifton didn't need Finnley to remind him. He knew it himself.
