Chapter 343 Sophia ……

Chapter 345 A Kiss as Compensation

After leaving Thaddeus's office, Sophia looked at Finnley curiously, "When did you send people to look for the organization's hideout? How come I didn't know about it?"

Finnley explained with a light chuckle, "A few days ago, I privately asked Chase to do it."

When he first met Chase, he thought Chase was unreliable and even doubted his own judgment from before.

But unexpectedly, Chase worked efficiently, was thoughtful and careful, and got things done quickly.

In his own words, he was "worth every penny."

Sophia nodded in agreement, "He really is a capable assistant. During the two years you were gone, he devoted himself to the company and contributed a lot."

Finnley's hand on the steering wheel paused slightly, a dark look flashing in his eyes.

It was his fault...

His Sophia didn't have to go through all this.

A deep sense of guilt welled up inside him, and Finnley became even more determined to treat Sophia twice as well.

He couldn't turn back time, he could only make himself stronger.

No matter what happened in the future, he would never leave Sophia again.

After thinking for a moment, Finnley suddenly turned the car around and headed in another direction.

Sophia looked out the window in surprise, "Where are we going?"

"You'll know when we get there." Finnley pressed the gas pedal and sped up.

About ten minutes later, the car stopped in front of a building.

He unbuckled his seatbelt, opened the door and got out, saying to Sophia beside him, "Come on, we're almost there."

Curious, Sophia followed him all the way up to the top floor.

When the elevator doors opened, Finnley led Sophia through a long corridor where all the decor had been completely changed.

This corridor was very long, more like a connection between two buildings.

At the end, there was a very high-tech looking door. Finnley stood in front of the display screen, went through facial recognition, and walked in.

From the style, it seemed to be a tech company.

"Come with me."

Finnley took Sophia's hand and led her inside, into an office.

What surprised Sophia was that the decor here was exactly the same as the CEO's office at the White Group - not only the layout was identical, but even the color scheme was the same.

Sophia's eyes swept around the room, and her gaze finally settled on the balcony.

On the balcony sat a white lounge chair.

A memory immediately surfaced in Sophia's mind.

Back when she and Benjamin had just gotten married, Benjamin especially liked to bring her to the White Group.

Every time Benjamin handled documents in the office, she would comfortably lie on the sofa reading or sleeping.

Sometimes when Benjamin got tired of handling documents, he would pull her to the lounge chair on the balcony to sunbathe.

Sophia asked in surprise, "Why is this here? Didn't you lose your memory?"

Finnley walked to the rocking chair and sat down, reaching out with his long arm to pull Sophia onto his lap.

He said thoughtfully, "Actually, when I was decorating, I couldn't figure out why I had to put a lounge chair here. It wasn't until that day when I saw a similar setup at our home that I understood - some memories can be easily changed, but habits can't."

Even though his memories had been erased, those habits ingrained in his bones had always been there.

Like how there had to be her favorite lounge chair on the balcony.

And like... loving her no matter what.

Sophia wrapped her arms around his neck and looked disdainfully at the lounge chair he was sitting on.

"It's not as nice as the one I picked."

The one she chose was delicate, beautiful, and very comfortable to lie on.

This lounge chair was just so-so.

The surface of the chair was bare, not soft to sit on at all, and it was pure white without any patterns or decorations.

Finnley's taste was really... hard to describe.

"Now you're being picky?"

Finnley laughed and tapped her smooth forehead with his bent finger.

"It is ugly. Your taste really can't be trusted."

Sophia covered her forehead in pain and forcefully lowered her head, her chin hitting his forehead just right, getting her revenge.

Finnley gasped in pain, "You've got quite some strength."

Hearing this, Sophia quickly lowered her head to check his injury, "Did I hurt you? Let me see."

But as soon as she lowered her head, Finnley suddenly raised his chin and kissed her lips.

"Give me a kiss as compensation."

"You tricked me!" Sophia was so angry she wanted to hit him.

Not only was Sophia deceived, she was also taken advantage of. How come she never noticed he had this cunning side before?

Finnley grabbed her slender, pale wrist, his deep eyes filled with scattered starlight.

His thin lips curved up as he said quite righteously, "This is called using strategy in war."

After saying this, Finnley held Sophia's slender waist with one hand and cupped the back of her head with the other, deepening the kiss.

The chair back tilted as Finnley leaned back, and Sophia was held by him in an intimate position pressed against Finnley's body.

Sophia was kissed until her whole body went weak. Her hands supporting herself on his chest went soft. At first she could still hold herself up, but eventually her whole body collapsed onto him.

From behind, their position looked very intimate.

Sophia frowned and tried to struggle, but he held her firmly. "If you keep moving around, I can't guarantee nothing else will happen."

When he mentioned "something else," images of them making love last night immediately flashed through Sophia's mind, and her cheeks instantly flushed.

She immediately stopped moving. When she got a chance to catch her breath, she glared at him coquettishly, "Can't you control yourself?"

Finnley leaned lazily on the rocking chair. Hearing this, he raised his eyebrows and smiled boldly.

"Is this something you can just control?"

Sophia tried to shake off Finnley's hand, "Then let me down and calm yourself down."

"Alright."

Finnley knew that if this continued, he would probably suffer even more, so this time he readily let go.

In two years, his company had developed quite well and was now fairly well-known domestically.

Sophia nodded knowingly and didn't ask further.

At this moment, she suddenly felt that Finnley losing his memory wasn't entirely a bad thing.

At least now everything he did was for himself, without needing to consider others' feelings.

This way, he was truly living freely.

The office was quiet for a while before Sophia walked back in front of Finnley.

"Can you tell me about what happened to you these past two years? Or... what kind of memories did they create for you?"
