Chapter 343 Sophia ……
Finnley let out a soft sigh and just let her laugh.
He reached out, his warm fingertips gently brushing across the necklace Sophia wore between her collarbones, a smile tugging at his lips.
"Beautiful," he praised sincerely.
"I'm beautiful, so anything I wear looks good," Sophia lifted her chin, her eyes crinkling with a smile.
"Yes."
Finnley nodded in agreement, unable to help feeling a touch of pride.
The Sophia he loved was the most beautiful in the world, like a dazzling little sun, bright and radiant.
All jewelry and gems were merely accessories to her, just bonus points.
Pleased by the compliment, Sophia set the jewelry box aside. She slowly leaned toward Finnley.
Under Finnley's puzzled gaze, she cupped his face and lowered her head to kiss his lips.
"I really like the gift, and you... I like you too."
This kiss was like a fuse, instantly igniting the emotions Finnley had been suppressing and restraining.
He turned the tables, holding the back of her head and kissing her back.
His lips carried a slight coolness as they moved over hers, sucking, prying open her white teeth, tangling with her tongue.
Sophia had no room to resist. He kissed her until she was dizzy and weak all over, only able to steady herself with the hand pressed against her waist.
When a feeling of suffocation came over her, Sophia frowned and pushed against his chest.
Only then did Finnley reluctantly release Sophia's lips, forehead pressed against forehead, the hand around her waist still holding tight and unmoving.
Their bodies were pressed almost seamlessly together. Through the thin summer fabric, Sophia could feel the burning heat coming from Finnley's body.
She gasped for breath, her beautiful eyes covered with a hazy mist as she glared at him reproachfully.
Sophia was clearly angry, but it had no bite at all. Instead, she looked like she'd been thoroughly bullied, her disheveled hair slightly messy.
Looking at Sophia's lips, more vivid than if she'd worn lipstick, Finnley's eyes darkened further.
He gently stroked Sophia's soft lips with his fingertip, a wave of heat rising inside him.
He cursed under his breath, the veins at his temple bulging from restraint.
His sexy Adam's apple bobbed as he asked in a husky voice, "Can we make love?"
Sophia's cheeks flushed red as she murmured her assent.
The moment she spoke, Finnley's burning breath rushed over her, wrapping her tightly.
His hand wandered dishonestly to her back, searching for a zipper.
But he found nothing except thin strings, and a thin layer of sweat broke out on his forehead again.
Watching him so eager yet helpless, Sophia laughed unkindly.
Being laughed at by his own wife, Finnley's usually expressionless handsome face rarely showed embarrassment.
His patience exhausted, he simply yanked hard, forcibly breaking the strings at the back of the evening gown.
The fabric at Sophia's chest was also torn in half, showing just how strong Finnley was.
Sophia was still laughing at Finnley for not even being able to find a dress zipper when suddenly she felt a chill in front.
Her snow-white skin was exposed to Finnley's gaze. Blood rushed to her head, and now Sophia was the embarrassed one.
Meeting Finnley's eyes that seemed to lock onto prey, she shyly reached out to cover herself.
"Don't look."
Her fair, delicate skin came into view, and Finnley's gaze grew even more intense.
His voice was impossibly hoarse, "Beautiful."
He lowered his head, placing a kiss on her forehead, then her brow, the corner of her eye, her lips, her collarbone...
Sophia went weak all over from his kisses, her hands instinctively clutching his neck.
His voice, tinged with desire, kept echoing in her ears, "Sophia, Sophia..."
That night, Sophia couldn't remember how many times she'd been worn out.
When she finally fell asleep, the sky outside the window was already bright.
Finnley seemed to have endless energy. When she was so tired her whole body ached and she couldn't even lift her hands, Finnley was still enthusiastic.
Finnley moved closer, wanting to hold Sophia from behind, but she struggled and pushed him away.
"Go away, I don't want to deal with you right now."
Sophia was so sleepy she could barely open her eyes, her voice hoarse, but she still instinctively shifted her body, wanting to get away from him.
Finnley awkwardly touched his nose, feeling a bit wronged.
He didn't know what had come over him. Earlier it was like a switch in his memory had been flipped, and everything just flowed naturally.
It was as if he and Sophia had made love countless times before, that soul-stirring, bone-melting feeling was addictive.
Even now, he still felt every cell in his body was in an excited state.
He moved more gently, sidling up to Sophia again and coaxing softly, "Sorry, I didn't control myself well. I'll be more careful next time."
"You want there to be a next time?" Sophia opened her eyes and looked back at him in surprise.
Finnley was instantly thunderstruck. "There won't... be one?"
Had he performed that badly?
No way.
Although his memory didn't seem to include doing this before, men were naturally gifted at lovemaking. He thought his technique wasn't bad.
Sophia was amused by him and turned her head away, ignoring him.
How could someone be so slow to catch on?
Gone for two years, and his brain wasn't working so well anymore. Was that what she meant?
She didn't want to deal with him.
On this side, Sophia quickly fell asleep, while Finnley behind her fell into self-doubt.
By the time he came to his senses and wanted to prove his abilities, he found Sophia sleeping soundly.
He laughed in exasperation, reaching up to pinch Sophia's nose. "Heartless thing, you sure fell asleep fast."
With that, he pulled Sophia into his arms and also fell into a deep sleep.
When Sophia woke up the next day, her whole body felt like it had fallen apart. The slightest movement brought a wave of soreness.
She couldn't help but gasp, startling the lightly sleeping Finnley.
Finnley opened his eyes, gradually becoming alert from confusion, finally settling his gaze on Sophia.
Memories of last night's wildness instantly flooded his mind. Finnley's eyes darkened as he cursed under his breath and held Sophia, who was squirming in his arms, tightly.
"Don't move."
Finnley's voice was low and magnetic, indescribably sexy and alluring.
All of Finnley's hot breath fell on the sensitive skin behind Sophia's ear, and her cheeks instantly flushed red as if filled with blood.
"Don't start anything, I need to go out today."
Finnley immediately didn't dare move. They lingered in bed for quite a while before getting up.
When changing in the walk-in closet, Sophia took off her nightgown and found her body covered with marks.
She rubbed her forehead helplessly and chose a high-necked long-sleeved shirt to change into.
After finishing breakfast, Sophia prepared to go out.
Finnley immediately grabbed the car keys. "Where to? I'll drive you."
"To see Thaddeus."
"Let's go then."
They said goodbye to Preston and drove off.
