Chapter 251 Why Give the Murderer a Chance
She hasn't worked outside the home all these years, so her personality is very gentle and soft.
Her proudest accomplishment is having three excellent sons and raising a beautiful, well-behaved daughter.
Over the years, even if she hasn't achieved much, she's certainly put in the effort.
Yet Hayden actually scolded her in such a cold and angry tone.
Hayden realized his emotions had gotten out of hand, but he was too annoyed right now to comfort her.
He just brushed her off with a few words and hung up the phone.
Seraphine immediately came over and gently comforted him, "Hayden, don't be angry. It's not worth making yourself sick over this."
Hayden sat on the sofa, his mood gradually calming down.
He put his arm around Seraphine's waist and kissed her cheek, "You understand me best."
Seraphine leaned into his arms with a sweet laugh.
Since Tyrell wouldn't work, he'd have to try Benjamin instead.
No matter what, he had to give it a shot.
He brought gifts to the White Group building, but was stopped by security before he could even get through the door.
"I'm looking for Mr. White." Hayden looked anxiously inside, but the security guard stood firmly at the entrance, refusing to let him in.
"Mr. White isn't at the company. Come back another day."
"Where did Mr. White go? I really have urgent business with him. Can you notify him for me?"
"I don't know. Mr. White doesn't report his schedule to us."
Hayden lowered his head in disappointment. After thinking for a moment, he said, "Then I'll wait here. I won't leave until I see him."
The security guard glanced at him and said flatly, "You can wait if you want, but please don't block the entrance. It affects employees coming and going."
Hayden hadn't been treated so coldly in a long time. The frustration stuck in his chest with nowhere to go.
But thinking of why he was here, he silently forced down his anger.
Hayden stood at the entrance for a long time, constantly looking inside, but Benjamin never appeared.
Finally, with his legs going numb from standing, Hayden found a random spot to sit and continued waiting.
It wasn't until almost quitting time that Chase suddenly came out.
Seeing him, Hayden's eyes lit up. He immediately walked over, "Chase, please wait."
Chase heard someone calling him from behind. He slowly stopped and turned to look.
Hayden stood awkwardly in front of him. After explaining why he was there, he asked, "Do you know where Mr. White is now? Would it be convenient for me to see him?"
"Do you know what Isabella did?"
Hayden smiled awkwardly, "I know, but she definitely didn't mean it! She just wanted to scare Sophia at first. Who could have known Mr. White would rush over..."
Chase let out a cold laugh, his eyes icy as he stared at him. "Scare? Scaring requires a real knife? Do you think I'm a three-year-old?"
"She really didn't mean it... Chase, please, I'm begging you to put in a good word for me." Hayden completely threw away his dignity, but resentment was already growing in his heart.
It was all Sophia's fault for not saying anything good for the family.
Isabella was her own sister, yet she could be so heartless!
Looks like abandoning her back then was the right choice!
A flash of malice crossed Hayden's eyes, but he quickly hid it.
But he seemed to have forgotten that he was the one who had the lawyer draft the disownment papers.
"Whether it was intentional or not, the fact is she hurt someone. You don't need to see Mr. Benjamin White. I can tell you very clearly that even if Mr. Benjamin White agreed to let Isabella go, Mr. Preston White wouldn't agree."
With that, he left without looking back.
But Hayden wouldn't give up. He stubbornly waited at the entrance.
He waited for several days without seeing any sign of Benjamin, and was getting anxious.
This couldn't go on, but what other way was there to save Isabella?
Maybe he should just give up.
After all, she was just a girl. He'd been good enough to Isabella, letting her enjoy so many years at the Brown Villa, receiving all that love and attention.
Hayden stood up dejectedly, ready to leave. But just as he reached the entrance, he happened to see a tall figure walking in.
"Mr. White! Mr. White... please wait." Hayden hurried over and blocked Benjamin's path.
Benjamin saw who was blocking him, and his expression immediately darkened. "Move."
"Mr. White, please hear me out. I'm here to apologize on Isabella's behalf. She really didn't mean it. It was all a misunderstanding!"
"Misunderstanding? You say that so easily. The knife didn't land on you, so of course you can talk without feeling the pain." Benjamin sneered and moved his long legs to walk around Hayden.
Hayden persisted, "Mr. White, please let her go. She's only twenty years old. It really was a misunderstanding..."
"What misunderstanding? Taking a knife to stab my wife but stabbing me instead is a misunderstanding, or hiring online trolls to smear my wife repeatedly is a misunderstanding?" Benjamin's tone was calm, yet it instinctively filled people with soul-shaking fear.
Hayden was momentarily speechless, his mind going blank. He couldn't say anything for a long time.
His face flushed red. More and more people gathered around, and some were taking out their phones to record.
He was losing all his dignity today.
But he couldn't refute a single thing Benjamin said. He could only silently endure it.
After all, Benjamin was rich and powerful, far beyond what he could stand against.
"Yes, you're right. It's all Isabella's fault, but she knows she was wrong now. I hope you can give her another chance."
Another chance?
If he'd been a second slower, that sharp, pointed knife would have pierced into Sophia's body.
Isabella's attack wasn't random. Even from behind, she'd aimed for a spot near the heart.
Sophia had been completely unprepared. If she'd actually been stabbed... the consequences would have been unthinkable.
"Why should I give a murderer a chance? Who does she think she is? Does she deserve my forgiveness?"
Benjamin's mocking gaze was undisguised. It wasn't until he'd walked far away that Hayden slowly came to his senses.
The anger and humiliation in his heart nearly drowned him, pressing down until he couldn't breathe.
He hurriedly left the White Group office building, practically fleeing.
After leaving, the first thing he did was call Nico to suppress all unfavorable news about him.
Whether it was articles published by media or videos spreading online, everything had to be deleted.
He was the boss of the Brown Group. If those videos of him begging got out, they'd definitely ruin his reputation.
It might even affect the company's stock price.
Before coming, he'd wanted to create the image of a good father in front of everyone, but the moment he saw Benjamin, all his plans turned to bubbles.
He couldn't remember any plans or what image he needed to maintain.
Benjamin was too terrifying.
