Chapter 215 New Villa
Joshua said calmly with a cold tone, "As the second male lead, you have a lot of scenes. By the time your face heals, the movie will probably be finished shooting. Alvin, I'll let your double-booking slide for now, but do you know how much it costs the crew when you alone hold up the entire production?"
Alvin's body stiffened abruptly. He stared in disbelief, "I, I don't know what you're talking about."
Joshua let out a cold snort, his icy gaze falling on Alvin's bandaged face. "I don't want to spell things out, but you insist on playing dumb. I specifically invited Sophia here. She won't work around your schedule, and neither will I. Understand?"
He brought Sophia in for emergencies.
Before, when Alvin treated his work casually, he turned a blind eye.
But if it delayed Sophia's time, making them wait specifically for his injuries to heal before shooting, that was absolutely impossible.
Having said what needed to be said, Joshua left without hesitation.
After he left, Alvin couldn't react for a long time.
Everything that happened today was too unexpected.
And he had completely lost this role.
All of this was because of Isabella.
Just as he thought of Isabella, his phone suddenly rang.
He picked up his phone and glanced at it, then let out a cold laugh. It was Isabella calling. What a coincidence.
He answered, and a soft, pleasant voice with a hint of uncertainty came through, "Alvin, how did today go? Did Sophia's attitude toward you change?"
Alvin's grip on the phone tightened, and he roared in a low voice, "Isabella, why didn't you tell me before that Sophia is Sawyer's real sister? Did you deliberately set me up?"
Isabella was stunned. How did Alvin know this?
Did Sophia tell him?
She suppressed her doubts and said in a gentle voice, "Alvin, I thought you knew. After all, she's also surnamed Brown. I didn't mean to hide it from you, I just didn't think it was necessary."
Not necessary?
She was probably worried that if he knew Sophia's identity, he wouldn't follow her plan anymore!
How had he never noticed before that Isabella was such a scheming person?
"Easy for you to say. Today Sawyer beat me up because of Sophia and warned me to stay away from her! Isabella, you used me as a pawn and still want to keep lying to me!" Alvin gripped his phone angrily, wanting to vent all his rage on her.
Isabella shook her head, "Impossible! Sawyer hates Sophia the most. How could he possibly stand up for her?"
"How is it impossible? I'm still in the hospital! If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have been beaten, and I wouldn't have lost this role! Isabella, you just wait. I'll never let you off!"
After hanging up, Alvin held his head, his brow furrowed in pain.
How many people wanted to be in Joshua's production? But because of one Sophia, he had lost such a great opportunity!
Damn it!
Alvin angrily slammed the table, forgetting in his distraction that his hand was injured.
A sharp pain shot through his hand, nearly making Alvin jump out of his chair.
Just then, his phone rang again.
Thinking it was Isabella, Alvin shouted impatiently, "I've told you so many times, don't contact me anymore! You've ruined me!"
"What are you yelling about? You lost the role and you're acting all righteous? Alvin, you've got some nerve!"
Hearing the familiar voice, Alvin snapped back to reality, "Vincent?"
Vincent was his agent.
Before Alvin could explain, Vincent roared, "I was counting on you to make a comeback with this role, but you're so useless! Get back here right now!"
Alvin was thunderstruck.
He knew that this time, there was absolutely no way to fix things.
......
Sophia knew nothing about what happened today.
Benjamin was waiting for her at the foot of the mountain as usual. She got in the car and gave him a hug, "Didn't you go to inspect a project? If you're busy, you don't have to pick me up every day."
"The inspection is almost done. Besides, I don't feel comfortable with anyone else picking you up," Benjamin said, his arm around Sophia's waist, a smile in his narrow eyes.
"I'm taking you somewhere."
"Where?" Sophia lifted her face from Benjamin's shoulder and looked at him curiously.
Benjamin smiled mysteriously, "You'll know when we get there."
Since he wouldn't say, Sophia didn't ask further.
Soon, the car arrived near a small villa and slowly stopped.
"Where is this?"
"Let's go in and see." Benjamin took Sophia's hand, got out of the car, and led her inside.
The economy of the city near Vast Mountain wasn't very developed, but the scenery was beautiful, and the neighborhood architecture was very distinctive.
Many people came here for that reason.
Sophia hadn't expected to see a villa here.
Though the villa wasn't large, it looked delicate and beautiful from the outside, with a small courtyard and a flower garden inside.
It was midsummer, and the flowers were blooming vibrantly, looking full of life.
Sophia stared at the scene before her, a bit dazed. "You bought this?"
"Yes. You'll be filming here and staying for a while. We can't keep living in a hotel, so I had Chase find a house."
No one had lived in this house before, because very few people here could afford to buy a villa.
So since it was developed, it had been sitting empty.
These past few days, besides inspecting projects, Benjamin had people come to renovate it.
After less than half a month, it was completely finished.
Benjamin led Sophia upstairs. The moment he opened the door, Sophia's eyes widened.
The decoration style looked simple, but incorporated more of the colors she liked.
The bedroom was large, with the walls covered in balloons and string lights arranged in the shape of a heart.
In the middle of the heart hung a selfie of her and Benjamin.
She had taken the initiative to take that photo.
Benjamin was usually so unromantic that she couldn't even find a single photo.
So that day, Sophia had a sudden idea and asked Benjamin to take photos with her, making various poses.
There were photos with cat face filters, silly photos, and photos of them kissing.
Now seeing these photos hanging on the wall, Sophia suddenly felt a bit embarrassed.
She pressed her hands to her cheeks, her bright eyes blinking as she turned to look at Benjamin. "You prepared all this?"
"Yes." Benjamin nodded, leading Sophia inside.
The floor was covered with a soft carpet, pink with many cute cartoon patterns.
The decoration style didn't match Benjamin's temperament at all.
Standing on it, Benjamin maintained his usual calm and composed expression, relaxed yet tinged with indifference.
Cool and noble, making people feel a bit intimidated just looking at him from afar.
