Chapter 171 What It Means for Legs to Be Crippled
Joshua immediately stepped forward, positioning himself in front of Sophia. "Sophia's medical skills are better than mine. Please trust her."
"It's not that we don't trust her, it's just..." someone said with a troubled expression.
The thing was, Sophia looked too young.
In their minds, those medical experts with high skill levels were all older seniors.
Moreover, Sophia hadn't said a word and just started feeding Saskia some unknown medicine. This didn't look like the behavior of someone with excellent medical skills at all.
"Do you have any other options right now?" Sophia's cool voice suddenly rang out, and everyone in the tent fell silent.
Right, they didn't seem to have any other choice.
Sophia continued, "Don't you have recording equipment? If you don't trust me, you can film my treatment process at any time."
Many people exchanged glances, starting to waver.
After a moment of silence, someone stepped forward, gritted their teeth, and said, "You can treat her, but we need you to sign a written agreement. If anything happens to Isolde, you need to take full responsibility for the consequences."
"Fine, I agree." Joshua opened his mouth, wanting to stop her, but before he could speak, Sophia had already agreed.
He angrily kicked a water bottle by his feet and sneered, "Sophia coming to save us is already a favor to us. What is this? Repaying kindness with hostility?"
Sophia tugged at Joshua's sleeve. "Joshua, since I agreed, I'm confident enough."
She blinked playfully and smiled. "Or are you saying you don't trust my medical skills?"
"Of course I trust you, but signing this agreement means putting all the consequences on you alone! This isn't fair to you!"
Joshua didn't want to watch Sophia suffer this kind of injustice.
He grabbed the agreement first and signed his own name, his lips slowly curving into a mocking arc. "I'll vouch for Sophia. If anything happens, I'll take responsibility. But Sophia helping you treat her isn't something she owes you. You all owe her a favor."
Under Joshua's deep and sharp gaze, everyone lowered their heads in shame.
After signing the agreement, Sophia fed the medicine to Saskia.
Just then, Isolde suddenly woke up.
She looked at Sophia in confusion, somewhat puzzled.
Seeing the helplessness and surprise in her eyes, Sophia gave her a comforting smile. "Don't be afraid. I'm here to help treat your leg injury. If you trust me, I can handle it simply for now, then arrange for someone to take you to the hospital."
Perhaps it was because Sophia's tone was so firm and gentle that Isolde's panicked and helpless heart was somehow calmed.
She nodded instinctively.
Sophia chuckled softly, took out a painkiller from the medicine box, and held it to Isolde's lips. "This is for pain relief. It has no side effects, don't worry."
Isolde's vision was a bit blurry, but Sophia's voice was so gentle that she instinctively opened her mouth and swallowed the painkiller.
Isolde didn't hesitate at all.
The unbearable pain in her legs gradually eased, and Isolde finally got a moment of relief.
Her eyes brightened, and she relaxed, letting Sophia treat her wound.
Sophia gently lifted the blanket covering Isolde and touched her leg with her fingers.
Her expression became serious, her lips pressed into a tight line.
Joshua crouched beside her and asked, "Sophia, how's her injury?"
"Comminuted fracture of the lower leg. The wound has started to rot. I need to remove the rotten flesh from the skin surface, or these legs will be ruined."
When Isolde's manager Remy Rose rushed in, that was exactly what she heard.
Her legs went weak on the spot, and she almost collapsed to the ground.
What did she mean the legs would be ruined?
Isolde was fine before. How did she suddenly get such a serious injury?
Remy bit her lip and hurried into the tent. Looking at the disheveled Isolde, tears almost fell from her eyes.
"Isolde, are you okay? Please say something to me! Please don't scare me!" Remy never imagined that after just a few days, Isolde would end up like this.
Before managing Isolde, she was just an unknown manager with no famous artists under her.
Back then, many colleagues looked at her with mockery and disdain, even belittling her openly and secretly.
Fortunately, Isolde worked hard and made a name for herself in the industry through her own abilities. Although not very famous, she had accumulated many fans.
Naturally, Remy's status rose along with her.
To Remy, Isolde wasn't just an ordinary artist. They had walked through difficult times together and were more like family.
"Remy, I... I'm fine." Isolde weakly forced out a comforting smile, which made Remy feel even worse.
Seeing Sophia take out a scalpel from the medicine box and aim it at Isolde, Remy's pupils contracted. She instinctively spread her arms and blocked Isolde. "What are you trying to do? I'm warning you, murder is illegal!"
"I'm treating her. Please move aside." Sophia's expression was cold. She didn't show impatience at Remy's obstruction, just furrowed her brows slightly.
Isolde's injury was very serious. If not treated promptly, even if her master came, it would be too late.
Remy began to examine the girl in front of her carefully.
With her sharp eye as a manager for many years, Sophia's face, even without makeup, was stunning enough.
Even though Sophia was only wearing simple and plain casual clothes, it still couldn't hide her beauty.
Sophia's beauty was understated, not aggressive, yet once you saw it, you could never forget it.
Sophia also had an ethereal quality about her, elegant and gentle, like a soft breeze.
Remy showed a hint of amazement but still firmly blocked Isolde. "Miss, this isn't a place for fooling around. Although Isolde isn't very famous, she has countless fans. In front of so many people, what are you trying to do to our Isolde with that knife?"
"The wound on her leg has already started to rot. If not treated promptly, I'm afraid she won't last until she can be sent to the hospital. Are you sure you want to keep delaying?"
Sophia knew she looked too young, which was why many people didn't believe she had medical skills.
But she had said what needed to be said. The rest depended on whether Isolde trusted her.
Remy opened her mouth, still not quite trusting Sophia's medical skills.
Isolde's leg was injured too seriously. How could a young girl like Sophia possibly cure her?
Wasn't this just making things worse?
Just then, someone tugged at Remy's sleeve.
