Chapter 168 Trapped in the Mountains
Benjamin's affection for Sophia was way beyond what they had imagined.
They originally thought that someone with Benjamin's status and position would never fall for a woman like Sophia who only had her looks, but who would have thought... Benjamin, who had always been so restrained and cold, now looked at Sophia with undisguised love in his eyes.
They exchanged glances, each secretly making up their minds.
It seemed they'd better be careful around Sophia from now on, or they might get fired without even knowing when.
Benjamin carried Sophia upstairs to the couch.
After a tiring day, feeling the softness beneath her, Sophia couldn't help but let out a sigh.
Benjamin sat down beside Sophia, his eyes full of concern. "Tired? Do you want to go rest on the bed for a while?"
"No need, I'm just a bit sleepy." Sophia yawned, her beautiful eyes glistening with moisture as she glared at Benjamin.
"It's all your fault!"
Last night, Sophia was so exhausted she could barely keep her eyes open, but Benjamin stayed energized the whole time, clinging to her.
Benjamin knew he was in the wrong and awkwardly touched his nose.
Thinking back to last night, Benjamin felt a rush of heat and couldn't help but smile.
He cleared his throat softly, his fingers gently massaging the back of Sophia's neck. "It's only because our Sophia is too tempting, I couldn't control myself."
Benjamin leaned in, his warm breath falling on the skin behind Sophia's ear, causing shivers. She scrunched up her neck, her face turning slightly red. "Stop talking nonsense!"
Benjamin chuckled softly, his chest vibrating with laughter.
He leaned over and gently kissed Sophia's fair cheek, unable to stop smiling.
Just then, a phone rang. Sophia laughingly pushed away his lips and took out her phone to answer the call.
Benjamin didn't mind being pushed away. He just buried his face in Sophia's neck, nuzzling gently.
After answering the call, Sophia's expression grew increasingly grim. She said in a low voice, "Keep me updated on the situation. I'll head over right away."
After hanging up, Benjamin lifted his face from her shoulder. "What happened? Why do you look so upset?"
Sophia wrapped her arms around his neck. "Honey, I need to go away for a few days."
"Where to?"
"Skyview City, Vast Mountain."
Benjamin frowned, asking with confusion, "Isn't that place getting hit by heavy rain right now?"
"Yes, a film crew is trapped in the mountains. I need to take people to check it out."
Benjamin's frown deepened.
Although he knew Sophia wasn't an ordinary person, hearing this still made his heart sink.
Benjamin suddenly remembered something. "StarVibe Entertainment, is it related to you?"
Sophia didn't expect Benjamin to figure out the connection so quickly. She touched her nose a bit sheepishly. "Not really much of a connection."
Hearing this, Benjamin slowly breathed a sigh of relief.
If he remembered correctly, StarVibe Entertainment was an entertainment company under the Lumina Group. It had been gaining momentum lately, taking only three years to break into the ranks of the country's top entertainment companies.
Cillian was an artist under StarVibe Entertainment.
Come to think of it, he had some history with that mysterious CEO of StarVibe Entertainment.
Back then, Cillian wanted to escape Amelia's control and was determined to enter the entertainment industry.
Under his private company, there was a fairly well-known entertainment company in the country.
He was worried Cillian might struggle in the entertainment industry, so he wanted that company to sign Cillian.
Cillian had agreed at first, but was poached by another entertainment company midway.
Fortunately, StarVibe Entertainment gave Cillian decent resources, and Cillian hadn't suffered much over the years.
But Benjamin still remembered this incident vividly.
Sophia naturally knew about this too.
Because three years ago was exactly when StarVibe Entertainment was officially established.
To expand the company quickly, Sophia had ordered her people to poach talent everywhere.
Who would have thought that within a few days, her subordinate would poach Cillian and come to her looking proud, expecting praise.
Benjamin had sent people to find her, wanting her to let Cillian go, willing to pay any amount in breach of contract fees.
However, at that time, she didn't meet with Benjamin at all.
Sophia looked at Benjamin, suddenly feeling a bit guilty.
After thinking about it, Sophia decided not to tell him about this.
Early the next morning, Sophia got up early. Without even having breakfast, she went straight to StarVibe Entertainment.
Executive assistant Sean Gray was waiting at the entrance. Seeing Sophia appear, Sean immediately walked forward and bowed respectfully. "Boss, the helicopter is ready. We can leave anytime."
Sophia had changed into casual sportswear, her long hair tied high behind her ears, looking youthful and energetic.
In the three-plus years since StarVibe Entertainment was founded, Sean rarely saw Sophia, but every time he did, he couldn't help but look amazed.
Sophia was even more beautiful than the female artists in the company.
If she entered the entertainment industry, she'd leave no room for anyone else!
"Are the relief supplies ready? Also, this filming accident has already been posted online. Contact the PR team immediately and minimize the negative publicity online." Sophia gave instructions to Sean as she walked into the company.
If Benjamin were here, he would definitely notice that Sophia at this moment was completely different from her usual soft and cuddly self who liked to snuggle in his arms.
Sean was very efficient and quickly handled everything Sophia had asked for.
Sophia sent Benjamin a message and then got straight on the helicopter.
Vast Mountain was experiencing a severe rainstorm.
The area was in a remote mountainous region with steep terrain and poor transportation and communication conditions, but the geographical environment was excellent.
Sean talked at length, reporting everything he had investigated to Sophia. "According to what we've learned, director Joshua Lopez is filming at Vast Mountain, and many famous actors are also trapped in the mountains."
"Have you contacted Joshua? What's the situation in the mountains now?" Sophia's face was grim as she gripped her phone nervously.
Joshua was Sophia's second senior brother, the youngest film director in the country. Since entering the film industry, every movie he'd made had won international awards and received wide acclaim.
This time, Joshua was filming a movie set in the twentieth century.
To achieve the best results, Joshua went to Vast Mountain for location shooting.
Three days ago, Vast Mountain started getting heavy rain. Apparently, there had already been several serious landslides and mudflows.
Sean pushed up his glasses, his expression growing serious too. "Not yet. The signal in the mountain area is already weak. We've tried to contact Joshua, but his phone hasn't been getting through."
"How many people are trapped there now?"
