Chapter 167 Benjamin is a Jerk
Seeing this, Hannah immediately explained: "This group chat is for the socialites of Silverlight City. Many young ladies from prominent families in Silverlight City are in it. We usually share gossip and stuff in here."
Sophia nodded in understanding. "So?"
Hannah leaned over, her fair fingertip tapping on the phone screen. "Look, don't you think this photo looks familiar?"
"Magnolia?" Sophia raised her eyebrows slightly, suddenly realizing something was off.
She opened the photo, and when it enlarged, Sophia immediately understood what was wrong.
The place where Magnolia took the photo was Maple Grove Villas, Benjamin's home, which was now hers too.
And it was in their bedroom.
The necklace Magnolia was wearing was exactly the one Benjamin had given her yesterday.
"Hasn't Magnolia already been kicked out of the White family? Why is she still showing off on social media that Benjamin gave her a gift? How is that possible! Could it be... Benjamin is a bad guy?"
Hannah was so angry she could barely breathe, calling him by his name directly, her words completely unforgiving.
In her mind, Sophia was already her good friend, and if her friend was wronged, she had to be the first to stand up for her!
Thinking that someone as noble and aloof as Benjamin would do such a thing, all of Hannah's respect for him vanished, replaced by disgust and repulsion.
She hated cheaters the most!
Even when looking at Alaric, she didn't have a pleasant expression.
Alaric, who had been glared at by Hannah several times for no reason: "..."
He touched his nose, walked over to Sophia, took the phone, and looked at the content displayed on the chat interface. Alaric couldn't help but press his lips into a tight line.
He closed the phone and nervously glanced at Sophia's expression.
Sophia lowered her eyes, her expression calm, showing no sign of anything unusual.
But he was still a bit flustered and explained for Benjamin: "Sophia, don't believe this. Benjamin has already sent Magnolia away and would never bring her back. I can guarantee that Benjamin definitely doesn't know about Magnolia coming back."
"I trust him. Alaric, you don't need to worry." Sophia found it a bit funny. Did she look like someone who was unreasonable and would wrongly accuse people?
Alaric touched his nose sheepishly, feeling a bit embarrassed.
He had indeed been too anxious out of concern.
He took out his phone and sent Benjamin two messages.
After Magnolia was driven away, Benjamin instructed Chase to gather all the servants in the living room.
He sat on the sofa, legs crossed, his expression cold and lazy, saying nothing.
The servants felt uneasy, not knowing what had happened.
But Benjamin's presence was too powerful. Even with all their confusion, they could only keep it buried in their hearts, not daring to say a word.
Only Lika kept her head down low, wishing she could disappear immediately.
The moment she learned that Magnolia had been taken away by the police, she knew she was done for.
"I've gathered you here today because something happened."
Just as Lika's thoughts were in chaos, Benjamin suddenly spoke.
His indifferent voice carried an indescribable coldness that made people feel chilled despite it being summer.
Lika lowered her head even more, her hands at her sides clenched tightly, cold sweat forming on her forehead from nervousness.
The servants didn't know what had happened and looked at each other, whispering among themselves.
Benjamin's deep eyes narrowed slightly, his gaze sweeping over everyone's faces, taking in their expressions.
"If you step forward and admit it now, I can be lenient. But if I find out myself, it won't be that simple."
Lika's legs went weak and she suddenly fell to the ground. "Mr. White, I was wrong! I really know I was wrong! I'll never do it again, please forgive me!"
Looking at Lika crying and begging pitifully, Benjamin felt nothing. He beckoned to Chase behind him and ordered coldly: "Take her out. I don't want to see her again."
Hearing this, Chase immediately stepped forward and pulled Lika out.
The other servants were startled by the scene before them.
Before, they only knew that Benjamin had a cold personality and a bad temper, but they had never seen him like this.
Many people were frightened by the scene, but they held back, not daring to make a sound.
After Chase left with Lika, Benjamin said flatly, "I don't want this to happen again. Also, Sophia is my wife. If you dare disrespect her, this will be your fate."
With that, he left without looking back.
The servants came to their senses and realized their backs were already soaked.
So terrifying!
No wonder people outside said Benjamin was decisive and ruthless, showing no mercy when he got tough.
They had never taken these comments seriously before because in their eyes, Benjamin just had a somewhat cold and aloof personality.
Only now did they realize that Benjamin didn't get angry normally only because no one had crossed his bottom line.
And his bottom line was Sophia.
When she came home from work in the evening, Sophia was surprised to find that the servants at Maple Grove Villas had completely changed their attitude toward her.
As soon as she entered, someone warmly greeted her, and even when she was changing shoes, someone helped take her slippers out of the shoe cabinet.
Everyone had flattering and ingratiating smiles on their faces.
Sophia was completely confused, having no idea what had happened.
Just as she was about to ask, she heard steady footsteps behind her.
Turning around, she met Benjamin's strikingly handsome face.
"Honey!" Sophia opened her arms and threw herself into Benjamin's embrace, the corners of her mouth lifting slightly. She pointed at the servants behind her who were standing with their heads down, trembling. "Honey, what's going on?"
"Why didn't you tell me earlier that they bullied you when I wasn't around? Sophia, it's my fault. I kept saying I'd give you the best of everything, but I let you suffer even in these small matters."
Sophia looked surprised and chuckled helplessly. "It's not a big deal. I didn't take it to heart."
"You're the lady of this house. I absolutely won't allow anyone to bully you, no one, including myself." Benjamin lowered his eyes and gently rubbed the top of Sophia's head with his hand.
Looking at Benjamin's focused and serious eyes, Sophia's heart was full of emotion.
She stood on her tiptoes and lightly kissed the corner of Benjamin's lips.
Benjamin's eyes darkened. He bent down and swept Sophia up in his arms, striding toward the stairs.
The servants watched this scene and suddenly understood.
