Chapter 130 Arranging Your Blind Date
A sudden wave of heat surged through Benjamin's body. He cursed under his breath and immediately let go of Sophia.
He reached out to remove Sophia's gloves, bent down to pick up the dirty clothes, and tossed them into the trash can.
"These clothes are dirty. Have Emma get rid of them tomorrow." Benjamin gently ruffled Sophia's hair, a faint smile playing at the corners of his mouth.
Sophia nodded with satisfaction. "I'll buy you new ones in a few days!"
"You'll buy them for me?" Benjamin raised an eyebrow, a flash of surprise in his eyes.
"I have money! What's with that look? Don't believe me?" Sophia pouted her lips in displeasure.
Benjamin couldn't help but laugh. "I believe you. Then I'll wait for Sophia to buy me clothes."
"I'll buy you something even better than this!" Sophia huffed with a laugh, pointing at the clothes thrown in the trash, her face full of pride.
Benjamin smiled indulgently, leaning down to kiss her tender, fair cheek. "Alright. Be good and wait for me. I'm going to take a shower first."
Once in the bathroom, Benjamin turned the water straight to cold.
The icy water slowly cascaded down, soaking his body, gradually dispersing some of the heat inside him.
Benjamin leaned against the wall and couldn't help but smile bitterly.
He didn't know when these days would end. He was about to lose control.
Being able to look but not touch was simply too torturous.
Having the soft and delicate Sophia in his arms, warm and fragrant, yet being unable to release the beast within him.
After a long while, Benjamin slowly exhaled a heavy breath, grabbed a towel to dry off casually, and walked out.
Sophia was curled up on the sofa playing a game.
Her eyes were focused and serious, lowered as she stared unblinkingly at her phone screen.
Hearing the bathroom door being pushed open, Sophia slowly lifted her eyes.
"Honey!"
"Come here." Benjamin's eyes darkened slightly as he beckoned to Sophia.
Sophia immediately put down her phone and ran over.
Benjamin opened his arms and pulled Sophia tightly into his embrace as she ran toward him.
"Where did you go today? Why didn't you take the driver?" Benjamin asked in a low voice.
Sophia's eyes flickered slightly as she answered vaguely, "I was just wandering around. Didn't really go anywhere."
Benjamin nodded lightly and didn't ask further.
"Honey, can I ask you a question?"
"What question?"
"If I couldn't stay with you for a lifetime, would you be sad?"
Benjamin froze. "Why are you suddenly saying such sad things? You're my wife. If you don't stay with me for a lifetime, where would you go?"
Meeting Benjamin's eyes full of love, Sophia suddenly felt her nose tingle.
"I'm saying what if."
"There's no such what if. You'll be the only woman in my life. Wherever you go, I'll follow." Benjamin's tone was firm.
A warm current slowly flowed through Sophia's heart.
She wrapped her arms around Benjamin's neck and kissed him on the lips.
"That's all I needed to hear."
She hadn't chosen wrong.
Her choice wouldn't be wrong.
Sophia's lips were soft, delicate, and slightly cool.
Benjamin felt his originally cold, hard heart instantly melt into a pool of water.
He took control, gradually increasing the pressure.
Sophia's lips were incredibly soft, with an indescribable hint of sweetness.
Benjamin slowly closed his eyes, lost in the moment.
In a daze, he heard Sophia murmur, "Honey, if one day you can't find me, will you be sad?"
"What silly talk is that? You're not going anywhere! You can only stay in my arms for this lifetime."
Sophia persisted, "Honey, if one day I disappear, please don't look for me."
I hope you'll only remember me at my best.
That's enough.
Having the chance to meet you was my greatest fortune.
These two months with you have made me very happy.
Sophia gazed intently at the face so close to hers, as if trying to etch it deeply into her mind.
Benjamin laughed helplessly, thinking Sophia was just speaking casually and didn't take it to heart.
However, at this moment, he didn't yet know what those words meant.
The next afternoon, Alaric rarely came home.
The lab had recently taken on a new pharmaceutical research project, and everyone was busy non-stop.
Alaric's main reason for coming back this time was for Benjamin's condition.
One of the samples for the antidote had now been developed, but there was still no progress on those few medicinal ingredients.
These past few days, he'd gone to the Lumina Group to find Matthew, but Matthew refused to see him at all.
Because of this, Alaric had been anxious and frantic every day.
"Sophia, is there really no other way?" Alaric's eyes were full of anxiety.
Sophia slowly shook her head.
Alaric lowered his eyes in disappointment.
"You don't need to be so worried. I've made it through twenty-four years already. There's no rush now."
Benjamin, the person most affected, was unusually calm.
Alaric sighed helplessly, his eyes full of defeat.
"I guess that's all we can do. Tomorrow I'll try begging Mr. Moore again."
Sophia lowered her lashes, a dim light flashing in her eyes.
"By the way, tomorrow night is Ronin's eightieth birthday. Take Sophia with you." Alaric instructed in a low voice.
Benjamin nodded.
Ronin and Preston were old friends.
Now that Preston was abroad, they as the younger generation naturally had to attend.
"Sophia, you're the granddaughter-in-law of the White Family. If anyone bullies you, make sure to tell us right away."
Alaric reminded her with concern.
Sophia smiled and nodded. "Don't worry, I will."
"My wife, I'll protect her myself. No need for you to worry." Benjamin said coldly.
Alaric froze, then laughed lightly and shook his head helplessly.
He teased, "I show concern for Sophia once, and you get jealous."
"My wife, I'll care for her myself. Is it your turn? You're so free, why don't you find a woman? If you keep dragging this out, no one will want you."
Alaric: "..."
Someone come kill this guy!
He's too smug!
If people outside knew that Benjamin acted like this at home, their jaws would drop.
And Sophia actually nodded seriously in agreement.
"Honey's right. You really should find a girlfriend. You're almost thirty! If you don't find someone soon, no one will want you!"
Watching the two of them singing in harmony, Alaric felt like his heart had taken a critical hit.
"That's enough, you two. I show concern for you, and you repay kindness with cruelty!"
Benjamin: "We're not the ones saying this. Grandpa said when he comes back, he'll arrange blind dates for you."
"What?"
Alaric suddenly stood up from his chair, his eyes full of shock.
"How is that possible? Grandpa never used to interfere with these things. Why so suddenly?"
Benjamin snorted coldly and reminded him bluntly, "Isn't it because he's worried that woman can't get anything from me, so she'll set her sights on you?"
