Chapter 110 Marrying Him Was My Choice
Celestia rushed to the computer at the counter and carefully examined the card information displayed on the screen.
When she saw Sophia's name clearly, Celestia was momentarily stunned.
"This is impossible! How can this be?"
Celestia's three friends exchanged glances and also walked up to the counter.
Then, they showed exactly the same expression as Celestia.
"Can I check out now?"
Sophia ignored them and directly placed her selected items on the counter.
Hannah snorted, "Some people are really blind and brainless."
Hannah felt she had really learned something today.
She had always thought that children raised by prestigious families like the White Family should be extremely well-mannered.
But now it seemed that wasn't necessarily the case.
Watching Sophia and Hannah's departing figures, Celestia's eyes were full of venomous hatred.
After leaving the clothing store, Hannah couldn't help but complain: "With your background and status, why does Celestia keep saying you're from the countryside?"
If the White Family knew that Sophia was backed by the Lumina Group, how would they dare to be so arrogant?
"This rumor came from the Brown Family. I never explained it, so they just assumed it was true." Sophia smiled helplessly.
"No wonder the Brown Family could use you as a pawn and marry you off to Benjamin without hesitation... Sorry, did I say something wrong?" Hannah awkwardly touched her nose, her eyes full of apology.
"It's okay, you're stating facts. My biological parents sold me to the White Family and gave everything that should have been mine to their adopted daughter."
How ironic.
Sophia thought, if the Brown Family had known early on that she was Robert's disciple and Matthew's junior sister from the Lumina Group, they probably wouldn't have sold her off but would have treated her like a treasure.
But that kind of affection wasn't what Sophia wanted.
Forced family ties were worthless in Sophia's eyes.
"You're right not to tell them. It saves them from leeching off you. Although there are annoying people in the White Family, Alaric and Benjamin still treat you well." Hannah sighed softly.
Sophia smiled and nodded.
"I should head home. Are you going to keep shopping?" Hannah asked.
"I still have some things to do. You go ahead."
Sophia had arranged to meet Matthew at noon today.
It was time for her to keep that appointment.
"See you at the lab on Monday then." Hannah waved to Sophia and then took a taxi to leave.
After Hannah's car drove away, Sophia walked toward a café not far from the mall.
When she entered the café, Sophia found that Matthew was already waiting there.
Matthew had handsome features, and his charcoal black suit outlined his straight and upright figure. From a distance, his presence was imposing, making people hesitant to approach.
Many girls around were secretly taking photos.
But Matthew remained indifferent throughout, seriously and attentively looking at the computer screen in front of him.
His slender, jade-like fingers were rapidly typing on the keyboard.
Cold, restrained, yet exuding an indescribable mature charm.
"Matthew!"
Sophia quickly walked over and sat down in front of Matthew, her tone full of excitement.
Matthew's deep eyes finally showed some emotion.
He slowly looked up, a gentle light flashing in his sharp eyes.
"Sophia, you're here."
"Matthew."
Sophia carefully glanced at Matthew, and seeing his expression was normal, she immediately felt relieved.
Matthew took in Sophia's changing expressions and helplessly tugged at the corner of his lips.
"Sophia, now you should explain what's been happening lately."
Sophia blinked innocently and said in a small voice: "Don't you already know?"
Since Matthew could find her, he must have already learned everything she had experienced before.
Matthew was amused by her shameless manner and tapped her smooth, full forehead with his bent finger.
"Sophia, have I been too indulgent with you?"
"You've changed. You never used to be mean to me, but now we've grown distant. You don't love me anymore."
Sophia covered her face and started fake crying to divert Matthew's attention.
However, Matthew wasn't falling for it.
He said coldly: "Sophia, before Master left, he entrusted you to me because he was afraid your innocent nature would get you bullied. But you left the mountain without a word. Do you not consider me your senior brother at all?"
"No, Matthew, when the Brown Family suddenly found me and said they were my biological parents, I was just curious about what my real parents were like."
Sophia had always thought she was abandoned by her parents.
So when her biological parents came looking for her, she was happy.
Because her parents hadn't given up on her.
But later she realized it was all a scheme.
From the moment they learned she was still alive, the scheme had already begun.
Over the years, Sophia had followed Robert everywhere treating patients and had seen many heartless people.
But she had never seen anyone as cold-blooded and ruthless as the Brown Family.
"Now I've already cut ties with them. I've repaid the debt of giving birth to me."
Hearing Sophia's calm narration, Matthew couldn't help but feel heartbroken.
Sophia was the youngest among them and the only girl.
So from childhood, she had been cherished by their master and the three senior brothers.
Throughout her life, except for being kidnapped for experimental research, she had hardly suffered any grievances.
How dare the Brown Family hurt her!
"Matthew, I'm sorry for making you worry." Sophia lowered her eyelashes, her eyes full of guilt.
Seeing her aggrieved appearance, Matthew's heart immediately softened.
He sighed helplessly and said: "If there's a next time, I'll definitely have someone tie you up and bring you back."
Sophia's eyes immediately brightened, "Thank you Matthew, there definitely won't be a next time! I promise!"
"Now let's talk about you and Benjamin. Even if it's to cut ties with the Brown Family, you can't sacrifice your lifetime happiness." Matthew gazed at Sophia with heavy eyes.
Sophia shook her head and said: "I married him voluntarily. Even without this deal, I would have married him."
Matthew looked surprised and advised in a low voice: "Sophia, Benjamin is definitely not a good person. You'd better not get too involved with him."
Benjamin was definitely not as simple as he appeared on the surface.
"Matthew, don't talk about him like that! He's my husband now!"
Hearing Matthew's evaluation of Benjamin, Sophia felt somewhat uncomfortable.
The vein at Matthew's temple couldn't help but twitch, and he sighed helplessly.
He said in a deep voice, "Sophia, you can have any kind of man you want, but not Benjamin."
