Chapter 53
She wasn’t going to do that to herself again. It would all be over soon.
Her words had kept Roman up all night. Well, her words plus the raging hard-on he’d had knowing she was in his bed. So close and yet so far away.
But he had her here for as long as he needed to, now. He would change her mind. He had to.
“If you make a list, I’ll arrange for everything you need to be delivered,” he said. “And you’ll have to call your work.”
Phillip came back to the table with a pen and a notepad and placed them in front of her. Evelyn looked a little shell-shocked as she picked the pen up. Her eyes returned to the security camera feed of all the reporters. One small tip of his whereabouts and his unlisted address had got them all swarming over like flies less than an hour after.
“I’ll make us some breakfast while you do that.”
He turned away from her and glanced at the screen before he went to get some ingredients out. These weren’t the reporters he had paid to run the story with specific pictures. These looked hungry enough to keep digging until they came up with something. Keeping her in the house wouldn’t stop them, but it would at least delay things.
“I’ll head off now,” Phillip said.
“I’ll call you.”
Phillip had already arranged more security for both this house and Evelyn’s parents’ but he still needed to make sure things were going according to plan. The last thing he wanted was to put anyone in real danger.
Evelyn was still sitting in her spot when he carried over a plate with a full English breakfast for her. He’d never cooked for anyone else before until Evelyn but he liked this. He liked feeling as if they were a real couple having their meals together before the start of the day.
“Don’t worry, Evelyn,” he said after he had sat down. He reached across the table to put his hand over hers and gave her a gentle squeeze. “I won’t let anything happen to you.”
Evelyn pulled her hand away from his and put it in her lap. That cut him deep but he knew it was justified. So far he had been orchestrating all of this shit but now he could finally start breaking those walls she had put between them.
“There are going to be some security teams outside until this blows over, so don’t get alarmed. Sometimes the reporters can be overzealous, but it’s not the first time my people have had to fend them off. If you want some fresh air, you can go out to the back, but don’t go out to the front, under any circumstances,” he said as he started to eat his food. “I’ve had Phillip remove your number plates so they won’t be able to trace you that way, either.”
“What about my parents? Mum has to go to work, my dad will be alone,” she said.
“I’m taking care of them as well.”
He finished his breakfast and then took his plate to the sink. Evelyn still hadn’t touched hers. The only way she would believe her parents were safe was if she saw them herself, and that couldn’t happen yet.
“Excuse me. I have a busy day today so I’m going to get ready.”
He went up the stairs to the master bedroom and saw that Evelyn had made the bed and left no trace of herself. It had been hell thinking about her in this bed, especially when he knew that if he had come upstairs and kissed her the way he had done in that parking lot, he would have been welcomed back between her legs.
He would have buried himself in her after so long and probably wouldn’t have lasted long, but Evelyn would have been swept up in all of that just the same as he would have been.
He missed her throaty moans. He missed the way she screamed his name. He missed how completely uninhibited she was, open to exploring everything with him. She had made him a slave to his body, a slave to hers. There was nothing in the world like the high he got when he released his load between her tight walls.
He went hard again instantly just thinking about that. Rock hard because Evelyn was under the same roof, right where he wanted her.
But he couldn’t touch her yet. He had to take baby steps. The sex had to be secondary. And she had to come to him no matter how hard it was to wait.
He went straight to the ensuite for his morning routine. After he brushed his teeth he went under the spray before it completely warmed up. But as usual, that did nothing to cool him down. He was still rock hard as he thought of the woman downstairs.
With a groan, he lowered his hand and gripped himself tightly. His imagination ran wild. Evelyn’s lip... Evelyn’s hands... The tightness in her body gripping him hard...
But it wasn’t enough. Relief didn’t come quickly as it usually did, all he had done was make himself harder. It was like his dick was hell-bent on doing the real thing that his hand just wouldn’t do.
He switched the water off in frustration and leaned back against the tiled shower wall. Maybe he just needed a moment to get his mind on other things. Like all the work that needed to be done today. But no matter what he thought of, his mind strayed back to Evelyn. Because everything he was doing was for her.
He gripped himself to try again because none of that work would get done if he had to walk around like this. Evelyn did this so much better. Everything she did to him was so much better. Like that thing with the back of her throat... A moan left his lips just as the bathroom door opened.
And the object of his fantasies stood in front of him, frozen to the spot when she realised what she had walked into.
But he didn’t stop. Through the slightly steamy shower door, he saw her eyes lower to his busy hand and her mouth drop open. He saw the flush on her cheeks. And he saw that look in her eyes that she always had when she wanted him. And she wanted him right now.
That was all his body needed to work right. He felt the rush, the tightening in his balls moments before his release came. And as he felt the warmth hit his stomach in endless bursts, he grunted her name over and over again.
It was only after he was completely spent that Evelyn raised her gaze to his, and then moments later rushed out of the bathroom.
He was still breathing hard when he put the water back on and showered properly. That had been an interesting development. Evelyn had been turned on. With nowhere to run, Evelyn would have to think about what had just happened. Would it be the little push he needed to get his woman back into his bed? He fucking hoped so.
