Chapter 116
Chapter 116
Oliver pov
Isadora had a confused look on her face while I slowly approached her, wondering what she was doing here in the first place. “How come you’re here?”
“Oliver …” she glared at me with an expressionless face, “I … I just came to have a talk with Charles.”
“You should be at the company, does your father know you’re here?” I asked but she pulled the car door open and went in to sit in the car. I sensed she was about to shut the door and ignore me then drive away.
Judging from the look on her face, she was really upset or maybe whatever talk she had with Charles didn’t go well at all. Before she could slam the car door shut, I held on to it and she looked up at me, “what are you doing?”
“what am I doing? Oliver, I have to drive.”
“Does your father know you’re here?”
“Okay fine, no! No he doesn’t know I’m here.”
“Isadora, what’s with the attitude? I’m just trying to ask some questions, that’s exactly what a normal person would do because you’re not meant to be here and you know it.”
“oh … okay fine, why don’t we try that again?!” She shot a fake smirk at me, “I went to have a talk with Charles.”
“That isn’t what I asked.”
“Daddy doesn’t know I’m here, okay? And please let it stay that way.” She added.
“Why are you still going to see that man after everything he put you through?”I asked, hoping to get a valid reason why she went to see him.“I don’t think I’m the only one here who needs to be questioned.” She looked at me from head to toe.
“What?” I glared at her confidently.“so what are you doing here?! What are you doing here Oliver?”
“I came to have a chat with Charles.”She folded her arms to her chest, “Since when did you two have some sort of relationship that you’re just heading to have a chat with him? Oliver please don’t complicate things just get back into that car, turn around and go back home.”
“Isadora, you’ve been acting all grumpy and —“
“Don’t try to change the topic.” she interrupted.
“Isadora, I should get going now.” I said as i stole a glance at my wristwatch. I turned to her while she still had her eyes on me.
“Okay? So what are you two going to talk about?”
“Business, Isadora! Now that I’ve answered your question, maybe you should try answering mine?”
“Oliver… we just had to talk about something.” She said to me. I took a step closer to her and grabbed her, gently pushing her against the car causing her to raise her brows and widen her eyes at me.
“Oliver!” she whispered shouted my name while darting her eyes around and making sure nobody could see us but I didn’t care if anyone was around us, instead I grabbed her arm.
“What are you doing?!” She whispered shouted once more while trying to free herself from my grip. I held her so tight, I could feel the pressure in my fingers, literally stopping blood flow through my arm. She looked terrified but I had enough already.
“You’re running your mouth, even when you’re wrong Isadora?! Did you tell me you were coming here? Or your father at least, you shouldn’t be here you should be at the company doing your job and helping out with your father’s situation which YOU caused. I’ve been trying hard to overlook the disrespect or have you forgotten that I'm your superior. You better fix that attitude, I’m just trying to control myself.” I said without taking a pause, constantly digging my fingernails into her skin.
“I’m not going to push it further but you better tell me what you came here to do—“
“We came to talk! That’s just it.” She yelled at me.I clenched my jaw and spoke through my gritted teeth, “I don’t know if you’re lying but I better not find out you came here to do something else!” I said to her and forcefully pushed her onto the car, “We’re fricken getting married soon, Isadora you can’t keep doing this, I’m not going to let you have another chance to cheat on me and just incase you didn’t realize, I’m the one who told your father about you and Nathan, he knew all this while he just had perfect timing and was able to find out about you two now guess where he’s sitting right now; in jail! so if you really think you can pull that little stunt once more, you better think twice!”
I glared at her as she struggled to catch her breath with her hand in her heaving chest, and after the little drama that just transpired, I was taken back to the bad days in London and just then I was reminded of the reason we broke up in the first place and I could bet that she was reminded too.
We both glared at each other, feeling a rollercoaster of emotions rushing through our veins.Isadora didn’t say a word neither did that scary look on her face disappear, she glared at me as she rubbed her arms softly.
Without saying a word, she opened the car doors and got behind the steering wheel. Immediately I felt a striking feeling of remorse and I hated myself for being unable to control my own emotions.I didn’t say anything to her but I noticed how shaken she looked.
I tried to step in closer but before I could raise a foot, she already set the car in motion and I watched her drive away. Not only did I get physical with her but I also lied to her, I had no intentions of coming to discuss any business with Charles I only told Isadora that because I didn’t want her to know the true reason why I came to meet Charles.
In no time, I disappeared into the company’s entrance doors and made my way to Charles’ office.
