Chapter 34

Chapter 34
Elizabeth's POV

At ten in the morning, I arrived at the agreed location right on time.

Looking up, I saw Aiden's Bentley slowly approaching me.

The car door opened, revealing Bianca's pale and weak face. She coughed softly a couple of times.

I frowned and looked at Aiden beside her, my expression darkening.

"Where are my things?"

He actually brought Bianca along?

I instinctively stepped back two paces to maintain a safe distance, in case they suddenly tried to drag me into the car.

Aiden noticed my movement and sneered, "Pretty cautious, aren't you? But Elizabeth, I'm giving your stuff back. Shouldn't you give me something in return?"

"Don't you want to marry Bianca? I can cooperate with canceling our engagement, and I can even help convince Grandma."

If Aiden wanted to marry Bianca, the biggest obstacle was Grandma. She had her heart set on the baby in my belly and made no effort to hide her disgust for Bianca. It would be nearly impossible for Aiden to bypass her and marry Bianca directly.

"You're deliberately using Grandma to pressure me, aren't you? Think she can protect you?" Aiden's reaction was intense, his eyes full of anger at having his sore spot touched.

"I don't need anyone's protection. I'm just stating the terms of our deal."

Bianca spoke up weakly, "Ms. Spencer, please don't misunderstand my relationship with Aiden. I never intended to come between you two."

"Really?" I laughed lightly. "Ms. Johnson, that's a bit of a lie. You didn't just intend to, you actually did it."

Bianca always put on a pitiful act whenever Aiden was around, but when she was alone with me, her attitude was way more arrogant.

"By the way, Ms. Johnson," I changed my tone, "aren't you supposed to be so weak you can barely get out of bed? How do you have the energy to especially accompany Aiden to see me?"

"Elizabeth, what are you trying to say?" My tone was clearly mocking, and Bianca immediately put on a hurt expression while Aiden jumped to accuse me.

"Ms. Johnson has shaped herself into such a fragile image—people who don't know better might think you're dying."

Aiden was completely enraged. He suddenly pushed open the car door and rushed at me, trying to grab me.

I immediately stepped back while quickly scanning the pedestrians around us.

This was a busy plaza with surveillance cameras everywhere. If Aiden dared to get rough here, I would immediately call for help. Any incident involving me online would make people suspect him, so I bet he wouldn't dare cause trouble in a place like this.

"Elizabeth! Get in the car!" He grabbed at empty air, his face full of frustration, teeth clenched as he growled.

"Give me back my parents' things, and we're done." My attitude was equally firm.

"Cut the crap!" Aiden completely dropped the pretense and lunged at me again.

At the same time, two burly bodyguards got out of the car and blocked my escape routes on both sides.

"Help! Someone's trying to kidnap me!" I immediately shouted to the people around us.

Aiden seemed prepared for this and quickly explained to the onlookers, "Sorry, my fiancée and I had a little disagreement. It's nothing serious."

"Aiden! This is illegal detention! Let me go!" I struggled with all my might, but the bodyguards still held me firmly.

I was forcibly shoved into the car, and Aiden immediately shouted at the driver, "To the hospital!"

My hands were tied behind my back. Watching the fleeting triumphant smile on Bianca's face, I instantly understood everything.

Aiden couldn't wait anymore—he planned to make his move on me now.

"Bianca, don't be afraid. I'll definitely make you better." Aiden pulled Bianca into his arms, his tone sickeningly tender.

Watching this scene, I became even more certain that Aiden was going to get rid of my baby, or even take my life.

The car soon arrived at the hospital. I was dragged out and brought back to that familiar hospital room.

"Let me go! Let go!"

Aiden personally grabbed me and pushed me onto the bed, using his full body weight to pin down my shoulders so I couldn't move.

"Aiden! Have you forgotten I'm pregnant? You dare touch me?" I tried to use the baby as a last resort.

"At the plaza, everyone saw you forcibly bring me here! If something happens to me, you definitely won't escape responsibility! Aiden, do you want your scandal to destroy the entire Smith Group?" I tried to use these words to make him regain his senses and buy myself time.

However, Aiden's expression grew darker. He narrowed his eyes at me and said coldly, "I don't care about anything! As long as Bianca gets better, you owe her all of this!"

"So you're going to trade my life for hers?" I stared at him intently. "Even as a ghost, I won't let you two go!"

Aiden laughed sinisterly. "So you did guess it, and you deliberately escaped last time, didn't you? Elizabeth, there's no one left in your family to protect you. You have no choice but to listen to me. Stop struggling—cooperating is your only way out!"

"Get away from me!" I used all my strength to kick at him. "I'm telling you, the baby in my belly isn't even yours! You can't afford to mess with him! If you want to live, let me go right now!"

At this life-or-death moment, I could only take a gamble and reveal the baby's true parentage.

Aiden froze when he heard this. He stared at me suspiciously, his gaze falling on my belly, his expression instantly becoming twisted.

He grabbed my chin viciously and asked, "Elizabeth, you actually dared to betray me? Whose bastard is this?"

Sharp pain came from my chin. I struggled desperately, but he only gripped tighter.

Aiden's expression became more and more out of control. "Fine, this bastard from who knows where deserves to die anyway. Might as well grant your wish!"

With that, he picked up a nearby syringe and was about to jab it into my arm.

I steeled myself and shouted, "This is Alexander's child!"

Aiden's movement froze instantly, and the syringe in his hand dropped to the floor. A few seconds later, he seemed to come back to his senses and stared at me in disbelief.

"What kind of joke is this? How could you possibly have any connection with Alexander? Elizabeth, to save your life, you really dare to tell any lie!"

"Whether I'm lying or not, you can check for yourself! Thanks to you never touching me, the hospital mixed up the samples, and now I'm carrying the current head of the Windsor Family's child! Do you still dare touch me?"

The weight of the Windsor Family name was enough to make Aiden afraid. His whole demeanor weakened, his face looking terrible as he clearly weighed the pros and cons rapidly.

"You should know what happens when you cross the Windsor Family, right? I don't need to remind you, do I? Aiden, let me go now!"

After a few seconds of silence, Aiden suddenly laughed mockingly. "A woman with no connection to Alexander, even if you went to him, he'd probably just think you're crazy, right?"

He seemed to have convinced himself, and the viciousness returned to his face. "You actually want to threaten me with this? Let me tell you, I only want Bianca to live! I don't care about anything else!"

He picked up the syringe from the floor again and viciously moved it toward my arm once more.

Just then, the door was suddenly kicked open.
