Sofia's POV

Is there something wrong with Jake? Because, I can early see that his brain isn't functioning.

"You can't say words as shameless as that!" Jake looked at me like he hadn't said anything earlier making me wonder what sort of human he was.

"What? Did I say something?" He blinked his eyes and kept staring at Raven who felt like melting under his gaze.

Seriously?

"Leave me alone...." Raven shifted uncomfortably in her seat.

"Sofia?" He called out and I turned to look at him with creased brows.

Why the hell is he calling me?

"Wait! What?" I felt maybe there was something on my face with the way Jake freaked out.

"What?" I and Raven asked simultaneously.

" Chill ladies. I was just wondering why Sofia was blushing. " Flashing me a wink, he poured himself a glass of wine.

I touched my face and noticed it was hot.

I really was blushing.

Was I really blushing?

"I'm not blushing, it's just that I laughed too much." I stated truthfully.

"Or you were maybe blushing on behalf of your friend..." Jake teased.

"Just maybe." I flowed with the same energy he was exerting and Raven blushed.

We all are the good I prepared together.

I know Alexander might stay over but I want him to be at home real bad.

I took Raven to the guest room after she had had enough chit chat with her new found crush.

"Why are you still awake?" I saw my mom sitting in the parlor almost naked.

" And what are you wearing? Do you realize a man lives in this house?" I fired.

What does she thinks she's doing?

" What's wrong with what I'm wearing? This is actually the second time you're reprimanding me because of my dressing! Show me some respect!" She stated firmly.

" You can only get hay respect when you're at your husband's house, as of now... You'd do exactly what I want!" The screeching of tyres in the compound was the only thing that got us distracted.

Who would drive so recklessly by this time of the day? Though it isn't so late but the person driving was reckless.

"What the hell is wrong with you? Why would you drive like that?" I heard Alexander's angry voice.

I noticed something flash in my mother's eyes but I didn't want to know what it was all about.

I waited for him to come inside, what I wasn't comprehending was the fact that my mom was standing behind me. What does she want?

I nudged her and she stepped as she scratched the back of her hair awkwardly.

" Welcome." I hugged Alexander while using my finger tips to caress the crook of his neck.

Well, I learned that makes men relaxed after a long day at work.

" I missed you." He sniffed my scent and kissed me.

Reciprocating the gesture, I took his briefcase from him. " You need to eat and freshen up." We both started walking upstairs.

" I...I prepared something for you Incase you want something to eat." My mom said out of the blues.

" Thanks but I had dinner already and if I should eat again, it would be with my wife upstairs." His response got me happy. My mom looked at him with disappointment but he didn't notice it.

We both walked hand in hand as we walked upstairs.

" What about Raven?" After taking a shower and relieving himself from some stress, he asked.

" She's at the guest room. I'm sure she'd be asleep now and at the same time dreaming about Jake." I explained while laughing at Raven in my head.

" So, definitely I'm sure something happened while I was away." He took a bite of burger. H likes them for dinner.

"So how was work today?" I asked Alexander.

" it was quite stressful and the board of members wouldn't stop arguing over unnecessary things." He stated with creased brows. "So, how were you able to entertain Raven and Jake at the same time?" Alexander added curiously.

" Can we leave that discussion for tomorrow? you need to rest right now."

With that, we both slept off in each other's embrace.

"Wake up, it's morning." I heard Alexander's voice echoing in the room.

Damn, that's right we slept in the same room!

Wondering why we haven't consummated our marriage yet? You'd get confused so just pass on.

"Good morning...." I greeted grumpily.

"You'd be late for work. Go take your bath and come to the company later." Alexander was already in his suites making me wonder when he even woke up.

"Wait, when did you wake up and have you had your breakfast?" I asked because I just checked the time to realize it's just 7:00am.

"Oh that? Your mom woke me up and prepared breakfast for me." He replied and rushed out of the room.

What the heck is this woman's intention?

I went to the guest room to check if Raven is awake but she's still asleep. I walked back to my room only to see Jake coming back out from the study.

"Good mor—"

"Jake, have you had breakfast?" I asked him immediately.

I know its bad not greeting first but I needed to confirm something.

"At least greet or reply my greetings." He stated with anger visible in his voice.

"I'm sorry my bad. Good morning." I apologized.

"Morning, I haven't had breakfast. What's the rush all about?" He asked but I waled out immediately after telling him not to mind.

"Keep your greeting to yourself!" I shouted the moment she tried to greet me wit that annoying smile displayed on her face.

"What's wrong?" She asked feigning ignorance of what I actually mean.

"What was that rubbish all about? Is this how you cared about dad? Your own husband? Why are you trying to wreck my home the same way you wrecked yours?" I was loosing my cool talking to this woman.

"Don't you d—"

"Else what? If I dare, what would happen? Have you forgotten that you're in my husband's house? MY house and just me crying all night would make Alexander send you packing?" She began acting calm.

"The next time you try this rubbish.... Since you had the audacity to wake him up from sleep so he can go to work early as you claimed, why didn't you wake us all? Don't you know we work too?" I asked jerking a shoulder forward.

"Since you prepared breakfast for him, why didn't you prepare for others? And you dare wear this skimpy dress?" Some servants, Jake and Raven were all out now.

Raven tried calming me down by using hands signals but I wasn't buying it.

"Listen and listen very carefully, you're my mom who I only accepted last week. If you try any of these nonsense again, I'd make sure I burn all your rag like clothes.... Watch me and see." I stormed out in rage after saying my piece.

I know she'd be wondering the kind of daughter she gave birth to but if she tries this next time, I'd wreck her.

"Babes, calms... Okay?" Raven coaxed gently rubbing my hair.

"How can she do that?" I asked, tears forming in my eyes.

"Let's go to the office now."

While at the office, it's was obvious to everyone that I was angry and worst of it was that the company would be taking the staffs picture today.

"Mrs Rutherford, _can you please smile?" The camera_ man asked exhausted, after trying to take cute pictures and I keep ruining them.
