Chapter 27 27

Chapter 27 27
Karin's POV
It was Saturday night, and we were lined up to get into Sky Bar. I was with Aline and Renee, and this was our third club. It was nearly midnight. I was having the best time ever. We had laughed and danced and prick-teased every stupid man in Los Angeles.

“Why are we waiting here in line again?” I frowned. “What was wrong with the last place?”
“Nothing. This place is better, but it doesn’t heat up until eleven.”

“Oh.” I shrugged. Gosh, I knew nothing about Los Angeles nightlife. The doorman removed the red rope blocking the door and ushered us in, and my breath caught.

Wow, this bar was way up on the fiftieth floor and had a huge balcony overlooking the city lights. There was a dance floor and numerous cocktail bars, and the girls were right—the men here were another caliber.

I glanced down at myself nervously; I hoped I looked all right. My long dark hair was down, and I was wearing a cream-colored fitted dress. It had long sleeves and a plunging neckline. I had splurged and bought myself a new dress for tonight; I wanted to look nice.
It was paying off; I had never gotten so much male attention in my life.

Amazing what a tight dress and a little cleavage could do for a girl.

We ordered drinks and went to find a space to stand as I looked around in awe. I had never been in such a cool nightclub before. “This place is insane.” I smiled at the girls.
“Right?” Aline smiled. “The men here are off the hook.”
“And filthy rich,” Renee added.
“Who cares about rich?” I smirked as I sipped my drink.
“Me,” they both replied in unison.
“If you’re going to be with a guy, he may as well be wealthy, if you ask me. Fuck being with a poor bastard. I’m poor, and opposites most definitely attract,” said Aline.

I laughed as I listened to them.
“So who do we have here tonight?” Aline said as she looked around the club.
“What do you mean?” I asked as I watched her eyes scan the room.
“This place is a huge celebrity hangout.”
“Really?” I frowned as I looked around. “I wouldn’t even know any celebrities.”

Over the next hour, we danced and laughed, and Aline explained to me in great detail who was who. Apparently, the men were all very impressive. None took my fancy, though.

A gorgeous man came up through the crowd and put his hands on my thighs. “Do you want to dance?” he asked. He was blond and big and totally in my space, but the way he looked, I thought I could deal with it.

“Yes, she does,” Aline stammered as she stared at the god in front of us.

He grabbed my hand and dragged me to the dance floor, and I gave my friends a scared wave with my fingertips as my eyes widened.
Aline blew me a kiss and jiggled on the spot in excitement.

“What’s your name?” he asked as he wrapped his arms around me.
I put my hands on his shoulders as I stared up at him. “Karin. What’s yours?”
“Rocco.”
I smiled up at him. What a weird name. Gosh, I felt tipsy. I needed to stop drinking.
“This is your first time here?” he said, as if he already knew the answer.
“How do you know that?” I smirked.
“I would have noticed you if you were here before.” I smiled bashfully.

His hands roamed down to my behind, and I lifted them back to my waist. “You’re very forward, Rocco.”
“I know what I want when I see it.”
I smiled as he leaned in and put his lips to my ear.
“I want you,” he breathed.
