Chapter 77 Chapter 77
Chapter 77 Chapter 77
Knight's POV
The fact that she had left with him made me want to lock her up inside my house and not let her go.
But I knew that would only make her hate me. What I didn't understand was why she had left in the first place.
I lowered my head, my eyes pinned on her lips. She turned her face, her hands clutching my lapels of my suit jacket.
“Look at me bunny” I commanded, my eyes searching hers for the reason she was behaving this way.
Tears swarm in her eyes, hurt blooming in their depths as she struggled to get away from me.
“Let me go, Knight” she pushed at my chest. “Why should I do that? Tell me, what did I do to make you like this?” I asked, my wolf fighting to take control.
I held her small hands in one of my hand, making her let out a quiet sob.
I had never felt so…angry at myself like I did now. I thought back to our last interaction before she ran away with him.
I don't recall doing anything that would make her cry like this. “Tell me, Vamica. What is it?” My tone turned pleading, the sight of her tears made me feel restless.
“Your family destroyed mine, though I am sure you already know this” she let out, her eyes flashing at me.
What? “Where did you see that?” It couldn't be possible.
My mate’s parent couldn't have been killed by family. I needed to see by myself.
“You would find it in the flash drive you gave to me.” She whispered out, her gaze not meeting mine.
I stepped away from her in a daze, what she had told me shocking me.
By the time I moved to stop her, she was already in the elevator.
I pressed the hold button, my eyes pinned on her face. “I would come over to your house this evening, we would settle this”
She didn't grace my words with a response, her eyes pinned to the ground.
I reluctantly let her go, she clearly believed firmly my family had destroyed herself.
I opened the door to my office, my gaze pinning on the flash drive I had given to her.
My father had asked if his during his impromptu visit to the company.
I hadn't given it to him because there were some files relevant to the company on it that we needed to move.
Which was why I had given it to Vamica since the file on it was data related.
I inputted it into the side of my laptop, clicking on it the moment it appeared connected to my laptop.
I searched through the flash but saw nothing relating to what she had said.
Or could it be someone had purposely deleted the evidence after Vamica had seen them?
I left my office immediately, sniffing through the air for her scent.
My eyes scanned the first floor as I walked out of the company, her scent was still quite fresh here but she was no where to be seen.
I was about to head to the garage to go to her apartment when I saw she and Ethan stepping out of a cafe together.
I balled my hands into fists, stalking towards them as he closed the door to the passenger side of the car where she sat.
“Where do you think you are taking her to?” I growled at him, watching fear flash across his eyes before he shrugged off my hand.
“Home” He smirked at me, his eyes gleaming with triumph. The bastard!
My hands shot out to choke him against the body of his car when Vamica stepped out of the car, her eyes bouncing between us.
I dropped my hands, going to where she stood. “There was nothing relating to what you were talking about about on the flash” I told her, stepping closer to her.
“I knew you were in on it, you deleted it didn't you?” She questioned, hurt and anger swimming in her eyes.
“I didn't delete anything, bunny. I truly didn't see it” I tried to convince her, my hand reaching out to grab her wrist.
She pressed her hands against her chest,.her eyes looking at me with…fear and distrust.
“I would send it to your mail then” she declared before she entered into Ethan's car once more.
I watched as his car sped away from where I stood, anger and helplessness warring within me.
I stormed back into the office, my head filling too full. I let out a roar, my hands tightening around the edge of my desk, the urge to flip everything over strong.
“Look how unhinged you are right now because your human toy decided she is no longer interested in you” My brother's grating voice rang out in the office.
“Get out” I growled out, my hands turning into claws against my wish.
My wolf was going to take over any moment. “Are you really going to shift right now because of her? How pathetic” he huffed out.
I shoved him against the door, a snarl pulling my lips back.
“Don't speak about her or I would end you” I growled out, my hand wrapping around his neck.
“Go ahead” he wheezed out, his eyes twinkling as I squeezed harder.
He smiled as his face turn red. With a roar I shoved him away, my wolf receding back within me.
The change from aggressive to sadness disoriented me for a bit.
“For someone who wants to become the leader of the pack one day, you are pretty weak” Lucas let out, his voice sounding under water as I staggered to my seat.
“Get out” I rasped out, my eyes closed as I spun my chair to look out of my office's window.
“You should let her go, it would be best for you two” he chipped in.
“I said get out!” I snapped at him, flinging a box cutter at him.
He caught it before he chuckled, closing the door behind him.
“We need to find her or we die”
