Chapter 75 Chapter 75

Chapter 75 Chapter 75
Vamica's POV

I didn't possess the energy to get up from the bed I was in, the urge to cover myself up with the duvet and not move was strong.

I hadn't slept a wink, each time I closed my eyes the words and face of the woman who had stopped me by the hospital entrance plagued me.

A soft knock resounded on my door then. “I come bearing breakfast” Ethan let out. If left to me, I didn't want to see anyone but I had to respect the fact that he is accommodating me.

I trudged up, knowing I probably looked like a raccoon. I pulled the door open, not sure if I had greeted him good morning before I fell into the bed, curling up on myself.

“You need to eat, Vamica” he implored, his voice sounding soft with sympathy. I gritted my teeth, I hated when people pitied me.

But…my matter was now truly pitiful, wasn't it? They were right about me, I am a slut who spread her legs for the son of the man who murdered her parents.

A sob racked through me, my hand hit my chest, because I still had the audacity to miss his touch.

“Hey, what's wrong? Stop hitting yourself!” Ethan restrained my hand, pulling me into his arms.

I let out deep, heart wrenching sobs from the bottom my soul. My fingers dug into his shoulders, my tears wetting his crisp shirt.

I pulled back from his arms, wiping at the wet stain I left on his shoulder. “I am sorry about this” I sniffled out.

“It's fine, what is wrong? Why did you hit yourself like that?” Ethan asked, his eyes worried as he cupped my elbows in his hands.

I pressed my lips tightly together, not sure if I was ready to share what I learned with anyone. Not with their status as wolves been involved in it.

“Please tell me, I want to help you” He pleaded with me, his eyes searching mine a frown dominating his face.

“I don't want you to get hurt” I told him, the matter was more than something humans like Ethan and I could handle.

What I didn't understand is why my parents were listed as traitors and killed for betraying the pack.

I was sure that was my grandmother wanted to tell me when she collapsed again. It almost felt like anytime I went to her, I caused her more good than bad.

“There is nothing Knight can do to-” His phone rang out, interrupting him.

He picked the call, something about the project I had submitted earlier was incorrect. I perked up at that, I had made sure I did it properly.

“No, she wouldn't be available in the office-” Ethan was saying when I shook my head at him.

I would go to the office. Just one more time before I quit the job. That waswhat everyone wanted anyway.

I ignored the tiny voice that insisted Knight had always pushed for me to retain my job. “I would find a clothe for you to wear” he let out as he left me in the room.

My heart sped up, beating frantically against my chest. A tinge of paine running through my chest.

I searched from my bag, flinging things out of it to fish out my pills. I popped one pill each from a bottle, swallowing it immediately.

I washed it down with the glass of water that Ethan had brought together with the breakfast he served me.

I trudged into the bathroom, looking for an extra tooth brush in the cabinet of the bathroom.

My mind flashed to the time this same thing happened while I was in Knight's home.

I shook my head at the time my eyes grew blurry with tears. My heart panged at the thought of him, something within me hungry for his touch.

I found the toothbrush then, tearing the covering over it as I pressed the tiny tube of toothpaste that came with it.

I scrubbed at my teeth, willing myself to stop thinking about him but failing.

“I left some of my smaller shirt and trousers here” Ethan let out, before I heard the door shutting close.

I cleaned up on autopilot, my mind not present with me. I wore the least baggy choice of his clothes.

I knew I should have him take me home to get my own clothes instead, but I was just too tired.

“I am done” I let out, pushing my glasses further up the bridge of my nose as I walked out of his spare room.

He stared at me for a while, his eyes glazing over. I cleared my throat, before I walked out of his house.

“Sorry about that.” He let out, something akin to embarrassment lacing his tone. I said nothing in reply, as I stepped into his car immediately he opened it.

The drive to the firm was silent, my head already too loud from all the thoughts reeling through my mind.

I stepped out of Ethan's car first, not wanting rumors to break out about him too. “Hey, are you sure you are fine with coming here today?” Ethan asked me as he caught up with me.

“I am fine” I replied him, noticing everyone we passed looking at me strangely. I ignored them, I had already hit rock bottom what else could happen?

“I would wait for you at a near by cafe once you are done” I let him know. I wasn't going to give in a notice.

I was quiting with immediate effect. “Once you are done, just let me know. I would take you home” He assured me before the elevator door slid close.

I stepped out onto Knight's floor, my heart speeding up as I sighted his office. I swallowed, biting down on my lips to prevent myself from crying.

I clutched the flash in my hand tighter, I was going to return it back to its rightful owner.

“It is good that you are here!” Ronnie let out, a worried look on his face. I had never seen Ronnie look worried.
