Chapter 159
Chapter 159
Alpha Tris pov
The Luna Queen has fallen straight into my trap, the stupid bitch actually thought she was winning. She’s clearly just like her father. Overconfidence kills, and it will be the death of her. I’ll make sure of it.
I turn to my beta, Chris. “She fell for it, just as you said she would.” I praise him, smiling.
All I have to do is snap her neck, one clean break and I will be king.
I deserve to be King. I’m much better suited to it than a child who didn’t even grow up in our world.
Who cares if she’s supposed to be some kind of chosen one, the moon goddess has never been there for me, not ever in all my thirty years. Fuck her, and fuck the Luna Queen. I’m going to kill them both.
That is. If the moon goddess is even real. No one sees her anymore.
Maybe she’s already dead.
So much for being immortal.
I laugh to myself, rubbing my hands together. This is it. This is where things take a turn in my favour, it’s finally time for me to get what I deserve.
I’m a strong alpha. The strongest in all the north. I should be king.
“Now we just need to finish her off.” Chris says, the both of us watching as my men surround her. “She’ll be weaker now; especially after saving her precious mate.”
I nod, unable to hide my pleasure. “I will be the one to kill her, you know the law; whoever kills her takes the crown.”
Chris claps me on the shoulder, “make sure you finish her quickly, who knows what she has planned for us.”
“You know I never waste a good moment. But you’re right, she needs to die quickly.” I say, my eyes on the back of her head as she fights.
She’s strong. Even without using her powers. We would have made a great team if she were born at a better time.
I’ve never had a problem with age gaps, but this woman doesn’t know her place. It would take time to teach her how I’d expect her to act, and I don’t want her anywhere near me. She could kill me easily should she be given the right chance.
I won’t risk my life, even if she is strong and useful.
Drake and the other alpha with her, Jeremy? They fight like real men, they don’t hesitate to kill for her. Good, loyal men are hard to come by these days. I’ve had to threaten most of the men here to even come with me. What does she do that is so different? What draws men to her?
Never mind. It isn’t like I need to know, threatening and killing has worked for me just fine all these years. I don’t need to change my approach now. My men would think I’d turned weak.
I’m not my father. I won’t roll over and die just because things got a little harder.
I laugh the moment Sarah is secure in the arms of four men, and I watch as they inject her with the serum that we specifically prepared just for her. It’ll suppress her powers for a couple of hours.
And that is all I need, I’ll get the information from her of where she hid her daughter, and then she, all her mates and her pack will die.
No one will be left alive. Not one.
Well, except for her daughter. I’ll be taking her with me.
I can only imagine the power that child has inside of her, and I will raise her to use it only for me. She’ll be my own personal pet doll, and she’ll kill whenever I say the word.
I don’t need Sarah. Not when I can have her child.
I walk forward just as the men are pinned to the floor, they both try so desperately to get to their Luna Queen, but my numbers have overwhelmed them. They never stood a chance, I just let them think they did.
I may have lost my witch, but I’m about to gain something even better.
I walk through the crowd, ordering my men to kill any warrior they see, “don’t let a single one of her men get to her.” I shout, “kill then all!”
Sarah looks up at me, her eyes wide, one word escaping her lips. “Mate.”
My wolf howls in my head, fighting to break free and he screams the word “mate!”
The moon goddess certainly knows how to make a plan change in the blink of an eye, because this changes things.
It changes everything.
It looks as though I get two prizes today.
I don’t need to kill her, just mark her so I get access to all her powers. Once my mark is on her skin, ill be able to use her magic.
She may even give me a child or two.
She doesn’t need to agree for me to put a baby inside of her.
Things just got a whole lot more interesting.
“Change of plans.” I tell Chris, not taking my eyes off her. “She’s coming with us, the Luna Queen is my mate.”
