Chapter 160

Sarah's pov

Mate.

Alpha Tris is my fucking mate? The moon goddess has got to be playing some sort of sick game with me. She knows I needed to kill him, she knows that he’s a monster beyond redemption. Why would she do this to me? Why would she pair our souls together?

I look at Drake panicked, “he’s my mate.” I mind-link him, and Jeremy.

They both send back a string of profanities, screaming that he must die, and I agree.

Just because Alpha tris is my mate doesn’t mean that I am going to go easy on him. He’s a war criminal. He doesn’t deserve a second chance.

I can only imagine what sort of horrible, evil and disgusting things he’s planning for me in his head, I can’t let him anywhere near me.

If he marks me, he’ll have access to my powers, and he’ll be a lot harder to destroy.

If he marks me, it’s all over.

I know for certain he won’t let, Drake, Dylan or Jeremy survive, he’ll kill them all and take me for himself. Alpha Tris isn’t someone who shares his prizes.

I wish I could use my powers and destroy him right here and now, but they injected me with a black liquid, and since, I haven’t been able to call on any of my powers. Not one.

How can I win if I can’t fight?

“Luna Queen Sarah.” Tris says confidently, striding forward like he has no care in the world. “It seems as though the goddess has paired our souls together. Who would have guessed it?”

Alpha Tris has black hair, perfectly styled, not a speck of dirt anywhere on his skin. Blue eyes that remind me of ice, and a jawline that could cut glass. He isn’t a small man either, he’s tall, muscular and heavy set.

If this comes down to a physical fight, there is no way that I could be able to overpower him. I have to think of something else, a different way to take him down.

“I’m not your mate.” I growl back, unable to hide the hatred in my voice. “The moon goddess would never-“

The men holding me back tighten their grips, my struggling nothing to them.

“You say that.” He interrupts, “but she already has.” He takes a step forward. “She has already given you to me:”

I growl again, my wolf snarling at his.

Alpha Tris’ eyes flash black, his wolf close to the surface. “Do that again.” He smiles wickedly, “my wolf likes a good fight.”

“If you hadn’t have taken my powers I would-“

“You would what? Kill me?” He laughs coldly, “you could have tried, but unless you haven’t noticed, my men outnumber yours, and they wouldn’t stop just because I’ve died. They have orders to kill every single one of you.”

I thrash my body, trying to break loose.

“You can fight if you want to, Sarah. But it won’t help you.” He says, grabbing my chin and forcing my head back. “Maybe if you’re good. I won’t separate you from your daughter. I can be nice, I could let you raise her if you obey me.”

“I won’t let her anywhere near you.” I spit, trying to bite his hand.

He doesn’t flinch. “I like a woman with spirit, it’s all the more satisfying when she eventually breaks.”

“Get your disgusting fucking hands off her!” Drake shouts, fighting the men who have him pinned to the ground.

I can feel his wolf in my mind, trying to comfort me, trying to help. But no one can help, I have to face this alone. If they fight, they’ll end up like Dylan, and I don’t want that.

I don’t want anyone to die because of me.

“Ah yes, one of the mates.” True says, turning his back on me. “Wait your turn, mutt, I’ll get to you when I’m ready.”

“Leave her alone.” Jeremy grunts as a fist hits the back of his neck, “lay one hand on her and we’ll kill you.”

“You’ll kill me?” Trish laughs loudly, the sound overpowering the screams and cries of battle nearby. “You are in no position to make threats, especially to me. Your life hangs in my hands.”

He turns to his beta, “Chris, break his leg.”

The beta smirks and nods, “yes Alpha.”

“Leave them alone!” I cry, figuring as hard as I can to break loose. “If you hurt them, I’ll never stop fighting you!”

Tris turns back to me, “I don’t expect you to stop fighting me either way, but you’ll obey eventually. For your daughter and our future children. You’ll obey because you wouldn’t want them to be harmed.” He turns to look at my mates pinned to the floor. “But your other men? I have no use for them.” He nods to Chris. “Go on, break his leg.”

Chris walks forward as I scream. Raising his booted foot and cracking it down on Jeremy’s leg. I hear a snap, and Jeremy screams so loud my ears ring. Drake and I are powerless to help him, and he knows it. We all know it.

I need to do something, anything to make him stop.

“Stop or I’ll reject you.” I say, panting breathlessly.

“You can reject me if you want to, dear Sarah.” He smiles, coming back over to me, “but it won’t stop me from marking you and taking you as my own.”

Drake gives me a look I can’t decipher, like he’s trying to tell me something, but I don’t know what. I try to mind-link him, but I fail.

Whatever he’s trying to say, he doesn’t look afraid anymore.

Maybe just need to stall.

“I’ll never be yours Tris, not even if you mark me.” I growl out, spitting on him. “You can rape me and lock me away, but I will never obey you.”

Jeremy doesn’t look so good, he’s pale and his eyes are closed.

I need to get to him. I need to help him.

“We will see.” Tris grabs the back of my neck and holds me in place. “Let’s see how defiant you are after I kill everyone you love.”

I see the moment that Tris’ fangs elongate, he’s going to mark me, and I can’t stop him.

He licks the side of my neck, my blood boiling under his touch, but not in a nice way. Even my wolf is disgusted.

He throws his head back laughs again, the sound echoing, and I clench my eyes shut. I don’t want this. I don’t want to be his.

He leans forward again, but his teeth never find my neck, one moment he’s going to bite me, and the next he’s on the ground, screaming in pain.

An arrow is lodged in his spine.

Paralysed, he’s been paralysed.

Dylan walks through the crowd, his eyes blazing with anger. “You will never touch her again, Alpha Tris.” He says coldly, colder than I have ever heard his voice before. “You will die today, by my hand.”

The men holding me let go and I drop to my knees, unable to hold myself up.

I’m saved.

Dylan has saved me.

But there’s still a long way to go.
