Chapter 218: Make Lily Come Over Immediately
When Dennis stood at the doorway, like a terrifying killer.
Everyone from Prestige PR Group was shocked when they saw Dennis.
What was the Gonzalez family heir doing here?
Anouk stammered even more, "Mr. Gonzalez..."
Dennis's face was thunderous, "Get out!"
Anouk quickly tried to explain, "We came here for work, to handle..."
Dennis snatched a cup from the table and threw it at them, "Get out, don't make me say it twice!"
Anouk was reluctant to leave and wanted to say something more when a colleague pulled her back, "Manager, let's go."
Couldn't she see how terrible Dennis's expression was?
Seeing his foul mood, Lily quickly said to the woman, “You’re the manager, right? I don’t care who’s backing your company—I won’t cooperate with any statement you try to put out."
Anouk looked at Lily in surprise, "Don't you know he's..."
Dennis shot Anouk a cold look, his eyes carrying a warning.
Anouk was forcibly dragged out by her colleagues. If they stayed any longer, the three of them would probably have to go to HR to resign tomorrow.
Lily glanced at the three people leaving, "They must be the PR team Peter hired. I heard they're pretty good. They have the Gonzalez family backing them."
"Don't worry about that. Prestige PR Group won't take this job."
Dennis sounded certain as he set the food on the table, "Eat something."
Lily looked at him carefully, "You mean ask Mark?"
She knew Dennis had a good relationship with both Eric and Mark, so maybe they could help.
She looked at Dennis, "I have an idea."
Dennis unwrapped the fork and placed it in Lily’s hand, "Tell me."
"What if I hire Prestige PR Group as my PR team? I'll pay them the same, so Mark won't be put in a difficult position. What do you think?"
Dennis looked at her deeply, "Eat first."
"You don't think this will work?"
"I'll contact Mark. You eat something first."
Only then did Lily pick up the fork to eat. Her right hand was injured, so she could only use her left hand.
But she found her left hand wasn't very good with the fork.
"Clumsy. Now you see how inconvenient it is?"
Dennis took the food container and fed her himself.
Lily paused, "Can you crouch down a bit? Like this, it feels like you’re feeding a pet."
"So many demands."
Though Dennis said this, he still crouched down in front of Lily.
She glanced at Dennis in front of her, her eyes somewhat avoiding his.
Lily ate a few bites, then shook her head, "I can't eat anymore."
"Get some rest."
"But I saw the Prestige PR Group people haven't left yet."
Lily had noticed earlier that those three people were still outside, probably not leaving so easily.
Dennis calmly took a napkin and handed it to her, "I'll handle it. You rest first."
"But..."
"Lily, do you want to try relying on me just once?"
His gaze was deep, making Lily feel a bit overwhelmed.
She coughed and turned her head away, "But I can't always rely on you."
"Why not?"
His tone made Lily's heart race. She looked at Dennis suspiciously, "But that's not what you said before."
He had told her to make new friends at university and start a new life.
Dennis looked at Lily, covered in injuries, "But I regret it now."
He didn't want to see her like today again, alone in an abandoned building, crying and begging, getting hurt.
Lily's face grew much warmer. "Are you confessing to me?"
She wasn't stupid. She could feel Dennis's change in attitude recently.
Dennis flicked her forehead. "I thought you didn't get it?"
He stood up, "I just thought you were too young before, but now I can wait."
He never wanted to see today's scene happen again.
Lily blurted out, "You don't have to wait."
After saying it, she felt her face burning.
Dennis's thin lips curved slightly. "At least let me deal with the people outside first."
Lily watched his departing back, touching her own face, feeling it was all a bit too sudden.
Was she dreaming, or had she not woken up yet?
Outside the hospital room, Dennis walked out with a stern face, glancing at the three people, "Prestige PR Group, right?"
Anouk quickly nodded respectfully, "Mr. Gonzalez, I'm the manager. Earlier..."
"Starting now, you have two options."
Dennis’s expression was calm, his eyes cold and distant.
He continued, "First option: resign and leave Empire City."
The three people said in unison, "We choose the second option."
Dennis looked back at Lily in the hospital room. She was sitting on the bed, looking down at her phone.
He went on, "Then from today, you're her PR team and personal assistants, responsible for handling all her affairs, big and small."
Anouk was stunned. Had they just been promoted—like that?
They had long heard that Dennis had a girl he liked, and they'd even been in a car accident together, but the news had all been covered up.
Could this be that girl?
Looking at this situation, she might be the future Mrs. Gonzalez.
Was this a blessing in disguise?
After dealing with the three people, Dennis directly called Eric, "I remember your aunt is a big name in journalism. I want to ask her for a favor."
"I know what you want to say. I already talked to my aunt earlier. This time, we'll make sure Peter is completely destroyed. But why go through all this trouble? Dealing with Peter should be easy, right?"
"But that's not what Lily wants."
Dennis had many ways to make sure Peter would never recover, but that wasn't the result Lily wanted.
Since childhood, what Lily's family gave her was never what she wanted, but they forced it on her anyway.
He didn't want to do that. He wanted to let her live life on her own terms.
He wouldn't interfere too much.
Eric sighed, "Alright, stop rubbing it in. That Peter kid was just airlifted away by his agent. But after being blocked for so long, he's suffered enough."
Eric looked at the night sky. There was work to do.
Peter was rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment. Outside was chaos, with media blocking the hospital entrance, wanting to know the inside story.
Despite being ill, Michael dragged himself to the hospital press conference, arriving just in time to see Peter wheeled out—with the scars on his face painfully obvious.
Michael was anxious, "How did it get this serious?"
Sophie said tearfully, "I don't know either. By the time I got there, it was already like this."
Sophie cried in earnest—if Peter was disfigured, his career would be ruined.
How could he act in the future?
If Peter's career was ruined, what would happen to her?
Michael was impatient, "Stop crying. What exactly happened with the livestream? I don't believe you know nothing about it."
Now, Michael didn't believe what Sophie said.
After all, whenever it involved Lily, she would lie.
Sophie stammered, "I really don't know. Peter and Lily have always had conflicts. He wanted to convince Lily to drop the lawsuit so our family could be together. It must have been because Lily refused that the conflict happened."
Michael continued pressing, "You're still not telling the truth. Peter wouldn't attack for no reason. There must be a reason."
Sophie's sharp eyes noticed David returning. She immediately fell to the ground, "Michael, I really don't know."
David rushed into the room and helped Sophie up. "Michael, why are you interrogating Sophie? She didn’t attack anyone—it was Lily!"
"David, you can't be this biased."
"I'm being factual. Where's Lily? She even did a livestream trying to destroy Peter. Tell her to get over here!"
David felt this whole thing was caused by Lily, "Austin has already been destroyed. I can't let Lily destroy Peter, too!"
