Chapter 217 Peter, How Does It Feel to Be Disgraced?
Lily easily shook Peter’s hand off.
She said slowly, "Didn’t you fall in and hurt yourself? Did I push you?"
"It's still because of you!"
When Peter raised his voice in anger, it pulled at his wounds, making him tremble all over in pain.
"Peter, what's wrong? Don't get worked up, or the wound on your face will get worse."
Lily's hand pressed down on Peter's injured arm, a smile playing at the corner of her mouth. "Does it hurt? Good that it hurts."
Peter's face turned pale with pain.
His eyes were bloodshot. "Lily, I'm going to kill you!I'm going to kill you!"
Lily destroyed everything he had.
But Lily pressed harder, and Peter broke out in a cold sweat, shutting his mouth immediately.
Peter's agent, Joe Watson, rushed over in panic. "Ms. Roberts, you're pressing on his wound. Are you trying to kill him?"
"You need to get something straight—he's the one who wants to kill me, my own brother, and now the whole internet has seen it."
Only then did Lily let go and turn toward the car.
Joe was beside himself. "Get him to the hospital now! If there's any problem with his face, can you take responsibility?"
Eric looked down at the message Dennis sent: [Block the ambulance!]
He glanced at it and immediately raised his hand.
A row of cars stopped in front of the ambulance, blocking the road completely.
The ambulance had no way through.
Eric leaned against the car, saying casually, "Sorry, the car suddenly broke down. We'll let you through once it's fixed."
When Joe saw Eric, he didn't dare get angry—after all, he couldn't afford to offend him.
Sophie grew anxious. "There was a helicopter earlier."
Eric said, "Sophie, I used the helicopter to find Lily. You think just anyone can get on it? I'm not like you."
Sophie's face immediately flushed red with anger. "Mr. Murphy, how can you say that? Ethan is my boyfriend, and he's never said anything bad about you."
She hoped to move Eric by mentioning Ethan.
"Didn't you two break up? My aunt would never be interested in someone like you. Give up on the idea of marrying Ethan."
After Eric finished speaking, Joe came over to plead, "Mr. Murphy, this is a matter of life and death. Can you please let us through?"
"Like I said, it's not that I won't let you—the car broke down."
Eric said coldly, "You people from the Roberts family are really something else, one more ridiculous than the next. You think you can hit Lily and just walk away? Wait and see—this isn't over."
Dennis's expression earlier was so dark that it could kill.
Eric turned and got in the car, no longer talking to anyone.
Joe could tell that Lily and Eric had a close relationship. This was going to be difficult - how could they possibly compete with the Murphy Family?
Sophie stood nearby, feeling cold all over. Now she was going to be taken to the police station too.
Sophie thought to herself: 'This is terrible, it's all Lily's fault.'
Sophie immediately called David, her voice tearful. "David, something happened. Peter and Lily were filming outside, and somehow they got into a fight. Lily even deliberately livestreamed it, which made Peter so angry he accidentally fell into a trap and got seriously injured with his face disfigured. What should we do?"
"I'm on a business trip out of town. I'll take a flight back right away. You contact Michael - actually, never mind, don't worry him. Take care of Peter, I'll get back as soon as I can."
After Sophie hung up, her expression turned much colder. She couldn't let Lily destroy Peter.
She still needed to rely on Peter to get into the entertainment industry.
Dennis sat in the driver's seat, watching Lily get in the car. He hadn't stopped her from going to find Peter earlier.
Lily leaned back in her seat and took out her phone to see that the livestream had already blown up.
She smiled. The person in charge of Crayfish Live was calling her and sending messages asking how she was and if she needed to call the police.
After Lily replied, she accidentally touched the wound on her arm and gasped in pain.
Dennis got a bit anxious. "Does it hurt that much? soon we'll be at the hospital."
"I didn't feel it before, but now it's getting more and more painful."
Lily sneaked a glance at Dennis driving beside her. His stern face looked a bit scary.
Lily instinctively asked, "Are you angry?"
"Is it that hard to tell?"
Dennis's tone wasn't great. "How could you use such a stupid method? Doesn't it hurt? What if Peter had been too rough and something happened to you—what would I do?"
Lily's expression froze, staring at him blankly.
Her gaze flickered, and she lowered her head and answered softly, "But nothing happened to me."
"I said, what if? Didn't I tell you to call me if anything happened, that I could handle anything for you!"
Dennis grew angrier as he spoke.
He couldn't forget hearing Lily's cries for mercy and screams in the livestream. At that moment, he really wanted to kill someone.
And it turned out she was just putting on an act.
Lily looked down at the scrape on her knee and answered quietly, "Even if we're friends, I can't trouble you with everything."
Last time with the team sponsorship, it was also provided by Maple Leaf Corporation.
She couldn't keep relying on Dennis for everything. She had to handle her relationship with the Roberts family herself and didn't want to drag the people around her into it.
Besides, with Peter's personality, if provoked, he would just bite like a mad dog.
Dennis's car stopped at a red light. He turned his head, his eyes dark and heavy.
He said, "In your eyes, are we just friends?"
Lily's hand gripped her pants tightly. After a long while, she found her voice. "Well... what else?"
Dennis's hand rested on the steering wheel, his gaze deep. "If you don't know how to protect yourself, then let me protect you from now on. Stay by my side, and no one will dare bully you."
Lily's heartbeat immediately quickened.
She just felt her face getting much warmer.
Just as she was about to speak, a horn sounded from behind. She quickly said, "The light's green."
Only then did Dennis drive forward. The car was very quiet the whole way.
Lily looked at the road ahead, but her thoughts were already in chaos.
What did he mean by what he just said? Or was she overthinking again?
Soon, the car stopped outside the hospital.
Lily looked around. "Isn't this the private hospital where you were treated last time?"
She'd heard this was a place where rich people got treatment.
Dennis kept a straight face. "Get out."
Lily had no choice but to obediently get out. Medical staff were already waiting nearby.
As soon as she got out, she was put in a wheelchair and pushed into the hospital.
She looked back at Dennis. He was standing in front of a doctor, seeming to say something.
But she didn't know if it was her imagination—the doctor's attitude seemed very respectful.
Dennis watched Lily being taken for examination and said coldly, "Check carefully. Be gentle when applying medicine and disinfecting—she's afraid of pain."
The doctor quickly replied, "Mr. Gonzalez, rest assured, we'll do our very best."
Dennis nodded and leaned against the car, unable to help lighting a cigarette.
Dennis took a drag, finally calming down.
Lily's examination ended quickly. She sat in the wheelchair, feeling a bit uncomfortable—after all, nothing was broken.
She wanted to stand up but was pressed back down by a pair of hands.
Dennis pushed Lily directly back to a high-end private room, his expression serious. "Stay here and behave."
Lily was a bit afraid to look at him and said quietly, "I'm a little hungry."
"Wait here."
Dennis turned and left the room. She watched his back, feeling inexplicably better.
Lily took out her phone and saw that both Zoey and Violet had sent her messages.
Just as she was about to reply, the door was pushed open, and three people walked in, all dressed smartly in suits.
The woman in front was dressed head to toe in designer brands. She walked up to Lily and handed her a business card. "Hello, Ms. Roberts, I'm Anouk Bishop, manager at Prestige PR Group."
Lily didn't take the card. "What does someone from a PR company want with me?"
Anouk said confidently, "Ms. Roberts, have you not heard of Prestige PR Group? We're the top PR team under the Gonzalez family. There's no one we can't handle.
What will it take for you to agree to cooperate and issue a statement saying that the livestream was just a rehearsal for acting?"
Lily sneered. "No conditions will work. I want Peter to be completely disgraced."
"Coming to talk to you now is giving you a chance. Later, you'll be the one who suffers."
As soon as she finished speaking, the door was kicked open.
Dennis stood in the doorway holding a food container, his expression icy.
