Chapter 65 Get Out
Lily quickly restored the surveillance footage that the hotel had deleted.
She glanced at the video in her hand. If this got out, Sophie's lies would be toast.
A message from Michael popped up on her phone: [I talked to Sophie. She won't be spreading any more rumors.]
Lily found this response laughable.
Just like that?
After everything Sophie did, did he think just saying "I talked to her" would make it all better? That was absurd.
Feeling disappointed, Lily deleted Michael's contact. She should've done that ages ago.
When she started her live stream that evening, she noticed a lot of trolls attacking her.
[Who do you think you are, bullying Sophie just because you're rich, and forcing her to publicly apologize on her stream?]
[Yeah, and you even pushed her at the party, causing her serious injury.]
Lily wasn't fazed by the trolls' comments.
She calmly replied, "It's simple. Sophie is lying."
[What makes you say Sophie is lying? Got any proof?]
[Yeah, we all saw Sophie get hurt at the party while you were perfectly fine.]
At that moment, a donation effect appeared in the stream.
Seeing the name Titan Team, irritation flashed in Lily's eyes. Austin again?
She remembered his look of hatred at yesterday's party very clearly.
What did he want now?
A private message from Austin came through.
[If you apologize to me, I'll clear this up for you.]
Lily couldn't help but laugh. How funny.
Apologize to him?
She replied bluntly: [Get lost!]
She didn't want to waste her breath on him.
Seeing her reply, Austin slammed his keyboard in anger. "Let's see how you explain this, Lily. You brought this on yourself!"
Michael had asked him to clear things up in the stream, but with Lily's attitude, why should he bother?
Back in the stream, Lily addressed her viewers. "I have the surveillance footage from yesterday's party. I'll be uploading it shortly. Watch it and you'll see the truth."
After uploading the video, she dove into a game match, not giving the video another thought.
Lily was fully focused on her game, quickly winning each match.
Her fans watching the stream were on edge.
[Anyone else feel like Lily's really fired up today?]
[Probably because of all the false accusations. I feel bad for anyone playing against her today. They're getting destroyed.]
[Lily is a total killer.]
She quickly finished her matches and successfully advanced to the top 10, then took a break to drink some water.
Violet sent her a message: [Sophie deleted all her posts from this morning and said it was all a misunderstanding. She didn't mean it that way!]
Just then, Lily saw Sophie's name pop up in the stream.
Sophie's username was "Princess Sophie."
Sophie sent a gift and then said: [Lily, this was all a misunderstanding. I've explained everything to my fans and told them to stop causing trouble. It's all my fault.]
Lily looked at the message and coldly replied, "If you know you were wrong, then get lost. You're not welcome here."
Sophie's eyes widened in shock. She hadn't expected Lily to be so blunt.
If it weren't for trying to win favor with Michael, she wouldn't have apologized.
She hadn't expected Lily to have the surveillance footage; otherwise, she wouldn't have been forced to apologize.
Lily continued, "Everyone knows we don't get along. I'm not gonna pretend we're close. It's gross."
Austin couldn't stay quiet any longer. [Sophie came to apologize, and this is how you treat her?]
"Does apologizing make her noble? Do I have to forgive her?" Lily's words were sharp.
Fans in the stream echoed her sentiments.
[Exactly. Sophie spread rumors about Lily, and now the video has proven her wrong. We all know what she was up to.]
[Sophie, just leave. You're not welcome here.]
[Sophie is just jealous of Lily's fans and talent, so she keeps causing trouble. So pathetic!]
Sophie fled the stream, humiliated.
She saw her follower count drop and panicked. Who would've thought Lily had that video?
She ran out of her room, crying, to find Austin. "Austin, I really tried."
Austin, still watching Lily's stream, had seen everything that happened.
His expression darkened. "I know, it's not your fault. Michael, you saw it too. Lily won't give us the time of day. Why bother with her? She's acting all high and mighty now, signing with Crayfish, completely ignoring us."
Michael clutched his aching stomach. "Lily's got the talent. She has the right to choose who to sign with."
"But she's part of our family, too. She knows we're competing with Crayfish. How could she ignore that?"
Austin was still fuming from yesterday's embarrassment.
Everyone knew he had pushed his talented sister to a rival team.
People were laughing at him!
Sophie tried to sound understanding. "Austin, Lily is just being stubborn. She won't really join another team."
Michael turned to Sophie. "Why did you say those things in the stream? Didn't you know what would happen?"
Sophie's eyes filled with tears.
Austin immediately defended her. "Michael, Sophie apologized sincerely. What more do you want? You can't just side with Lily and treat Sophie unfairly."
Michael's frustration was palpable. "Why don't you get it?"
"I get it. Lily is spoiled. Let's see how long she can keep this up. Sophie, let's go."
Michael's head ached. He finally understood the pain Lily had endured.
He sent a $100,000 gift in Lily's stream and left a message: [Yesterday's party was a misunderstanding. Lily had nothing to do with it. As her brother, I'll always support her choices.]
Lily saw the flood of donations affect but felt nothing.
She ended the stream, not wanting to see Michael's performance.
She left her study, not seeing Dennis. He seemed very busy lately.
She hadn't seen him for days, which felt strange.
But with her SAT results coming soon, Lily was nervous.
She messaged Dennis: [Are you busy lately? Will you be around when the SAT results come out?]
Dennis saw her message and stared at it for a while before replying.
Eric glanced at him. "Lily, right? Have you been avoiding her? Did she confess her feelings to you?"
Dennis's expression didn't change, but he gripped his phone tightly.
He swallowed hard. "She's young. She doesn't understand what love is."
The gap between them wasn't just age. There was an unbridgeable chasm.
Lily still hated the person responsible for her parents' death.
That drunken kiss had left him feeling ashamed and confused.
"Did I guess right? Well, there's a way out. Tell her you have a girlfriend. That should make her give up."
Dennis's eyes darkened. "Maybe you're right. It's time for me to leave."
