Chapter 194: Will You Only Forgive Me If I Die

Chapter 194: Will You Only Forgive Me If I Die

Dennis had a stern face as he walked straight up to Lily.

Lily was startled when she saw Dennis suddenly kicked the door open and barge in.

She noticed Dennis's grim expression and tugged at his hand, "I'm fine."

He'd better not start a fight.

If he started a fight here, they'd have evidence against him.

David was absolutely capable of pulling this kind of stunt.

But she couldn't let Dennis fall into this trap.

Dennis saw that Lily's expression was calm, and she didn't seem angry, so his face relaxed quite a bit.

He looked up at David. Had he been too lenient with the Roberts family?

For them to keep bullying lily like that.

David looked at Dennis's features, his eyes becoming somewhat complicated.

This guy looked a bit like that heir from the Gonzalez family.

David asked directly, "Who are you?"

"Who he is isn't your concern right now." Eric walked in as he spoke, his handsome features carrying a hint of arrogance, less of his usual approachability.

David's expression changed considerably when he saw Eric. "Mr. Murphy."

Although he didn't have much connection with the top elite circles, he had once attended a party by chance and had seen Eric twice.

Michael stood beside David, somewhat surprised. "David, are you saying he's that Mr. Murphy from the Murphy Family?"

"Yes, it's him," David responded.

Michael's expression changed dramatically. He had seen this Mr. Murphy many times in Imperial City, but always because of Lily.

Back then, he didn't know Eric's background.

No wonder when Lily ran away from home, he had to put in so much effort to find where she lived.

At that time, he thought it was the school doctor who had status.

But he didn't expect the one with status to be someone else entirely.

Could it be that the person with Lily wasn't that school doctor, but Eric?

David looked at Michael's expression. "You know him?"

Eric spoke first, "Of course, he knows me. Mr. Michael Roberts and I have met several times, but none of them were very pleasant."

David's eyebrow twitched. How come he didn't know about this?

Michael looked over and quickly explained, "I didn't know Mr. Murphy's identity before. I apologize for any offense. After all, back then I was just trying to protect my sister."

"With what you call protection from the Roberts family, Lily probably wouldn't live to see tomorrow," Eric said sarcastically.

David felt uncomfortable. "Mr. Murphy, that's going a bit too far."

"I'm not wrong. Your so-called protection and care are all built on Lily backing down, taking losses, and apologizing, right? Without those, you can't protect her, can you?" Eric's speaking style had always been sharp.

David's face changed after hearing this, but given Eric's status, he didn't dare directly refute him.

If the Roberts Group really offended Eric, it would be very difficult to maintain their foothold in Empire City later.

Michael looked at Eric. "I admit we were wrong before, but Lily is our only sister. She's never lacked money growing up; she's not some girl who can be trampled on casually."

Dennis said coldly, "Isn't your only sister named Sophie?"

Eric picked up the thread, "Right, haven't you always been partial to that fake sister? I've seen you guys trample on and suppress Lily all the time. How dare you say that?"

Michael could barely stand steady. These words were like thorns, constantly stabbing at his mind.

He had already calmed his emotions down, stopped himself from thinking about these things.

After all, what happened couldn't be changed. He could only slowly make it up to Lily.

David saw that Michael wasn't doing well and quickly supported him. "I told you not to come, but you insisted."

"How could I not come? Mr. Murphy, as long as you'll let Lily go, name any condition you want."

Michael stared at Eric. He absolutely wouldn't allow anyone to trample on his sister.

Lily absolutely could not be anyone's mistress.
Eric laughed out loud. "Fine, trade all of the Robertsfamily's assets for lily."

Michael nodded. "Okay."

David's tone was harsh. "I didn't agree to that. After all, it's Lily's own choice to degrade herself; it has nothing to do with the Roberts family."

Michael stepped forward and looked at Eric. "I'm willing to give up all my personal assets."

"How much are your personal assets worth? Not enough!" Eric's tone was mocking. "Looks like the Roberts family's sincerity only goes thus far."

He turned to look at Lily. "I was just saying that on purpose. Didn't that test out their so-called sincerity?"

Lily smiled. "No need to test, I already know."

David cursed at Lily, "Lily, you're proud of yourself, aren't you? Since you're so ungrateful, forget it. In front of Mr. Murphy, let me make this clear: you're cutting ties with the Roberts family. From now on, whatever trouble you cause has nothing to do with my Roberts family."

Better to make it clear early, to avoid dragging the family down.

Lily's expression was calm. "Haven't we had nothing to do with each other for a while now?"

David wasn't satisfied yet. "Even if you prostitute yourself in the future, it has nothing to do with my..."

Before he could finish, Dennis threw a water glass at him, still with water in it.

Dennis's face was livid. "Say one more word and see what happens. Believe it or not, the Roberts Group will go bankrupt tomorrow."

David got drenched with water.
He glanced at Dennis, unable to figure out this man's identity.

What's more, Eric was there too. He could only storm off angrily.

Michael stood in place. He looked at Lily. "Lily, no matter what David says, in my heart, you'll always be my sister. If you ever run into any difficulties in the future, you can come to me."

Eric said sarcastically, "Come on, all this time, haven't you been the ones running into difficulties and coming to Lily? When has she ever come to you? Have some dignity, will you?"

After hearing this mockery, Michael couldn't control his coughing and clutched his aching stomach.

But Lily remained unmoved, as if she didn't see anything.

Alvin was very anxious and looked at Lily. "Ms. Roberts, do you still have the recipe for that medicinal porridge you made for Mr. Michael Roberts before?"

Lily sneered. "Medicinal porridge, huh?"

"Yes, Mr. Michael Roberts usually only feels better when he drinks the medicinal porridge you make."

"That's not right. He clearly likes drinking the oatmeal porridge Sophie makes, doesn't he?" Lily would always remember how Michael said Sophie's oatmeal porridge was very thoughtful, while the medicinal porridge she worked so hard to make, getting up at 4 AM to cook, was dismissed and set aside.

Are you regretting it now?

Too late!

Michael said regretfully, "Lily, I only just realized it wasn't Sophie's oatmeal porridge that was effective, it was your medicinal porridge. I was wrong before, I was blind ."

Alvin also spoke up, "That's right, Ms. Roberts, Mr. Michael Roberts actually realized this problem very early on."

Eric butted in mockingly, "Realized it very early on, so why only say it now? What took you so long? Save it for yournext life."

Alvin immediately shut his mouth.

Michael quickly explained, "Lily, I just didn't know how to say it. I was afraid you wouldn't forgive me."

The more he recalled the wrong things he'd done before, the more uncomfortable he felt, the more afraid he was to face it.

Lily's expression was cold. "Then I'll tell you the answer now: I won't forgive you."

Never!

Michael stood numbly in place, painfully suppressing his breathing.

He said hoarsely, "If I died, would you forgive me then?"

He bent down and picked up a broken piece of glass from the floor, pressed it against his wrist, and slashed down hard...
