Chapter 152 Lily, Do You Know You Made a Huge Mistake
Lily's expression was cold. "Listen carefully - you teamed up with Theron to harm me. You're the criminal here! The one who deserves to be punished is you, not me!"
"Lily, that's where you're wrong! Why didn't you help me from the start!"
"Why should I help you? Besides, now that Theron's been caught, all those videos and photos will be deleted. They never got out at all. You were stupid - who else can you blame!"
Wendy immediately panicked. She realized she'd just said the wrong thing and shouldn't have tried to pin the blame on Lily.
Otherwise, Lily wouldn't have revealed the truth.
The teacher looked at Wendy. "How do you explain this!"
Wendy trembled all over in fear. "It wasn't me, it wasn't me, it has nothing to do with me!"
"But last night, many students heard your conversation with Theron. You and Theron planned this together!"
"Wendy, you need to come with us and get this sorted out, or you'll have to go to the police station!"
Wendy cried in fear, hiding on the bed and refusing to move or go with the teachers.
The teachers exchanged glances, a bit speechless at Wendy's behavior, but didn't dare force her.
Lily sneered. "It'll be the same when the police come to take statements anyway. After all, Wendy and Theron were accomplices. I'm going to pursue this to the end and make sure they face legal consequences!"
Hearing this, Wendy broke down crying. "I'm a victim too! Why should I be punished?"
The teacher tried to persuade her. "Wendy, if you're a victim, then explain everything to us clearly. That way we can help you with the police. Otherwise, we'll have to call your parents to bail you out."
"You can't let my parents know about this, or they'll kill me!"
Wendy panicked at the mention of calling her parents.
In the end, Wendy reluctantly left with the teachers.
Soon, only the two of them were left in the dorm.
Lily looked at Zoey. "Some people are beyond help. Wendy was the one who threw mud at me first."
"I know. Wendy brought this on herself."
At this point, Zoey didn't want to do anything more. Wendy's fate today was all her own doing.
Besides, so many people in the dorm last night saw Wendy run out and say those things to Theron. If Wendy had just kept quiet earlier, she might have been able to get away with it.
As long as Lily didn't pursue charges against Wendy, the school would definitely want to minimize the whole thing.
Who knew Wendy would be so stupid and so selfish?
Now no one could help Wendy anymore.
There were no classes in the morning. Lily opened her computer and organized the evidence she'd found from Theron.
There were details of Theron taking kickbacks and misusing club funds, and even insider information about bribery in competitions and evaluations.
But there was no evidence of money laundering for the Harper family.
It seemed Theron had learned about the team's senior report and cleaned up all the evidence.
Lily only found a financial spreadsheet related to the Harper family's investment in the team, but that couldn't be used as evidence.
However, she'd told the Harper family she had evidence, which would be enough to make Theron suffer for a while.
To avoid future problems, the Harper family would definitely make Theron keep quiet!
Lily directly submitted this evidence, reporting Theron's negligence as team captain.
In the afternoon, Lily and Zoey went to class together. All along the way, they heard everyone discussing what happened in the girls' dorm last night.
When Lily walked into the classroom, quite a few people still looked at her.
Lily was used to it by now.
After class, Hugo messaged Lily: [Come to the office after class.]
Lily guessed it was probably about her report against Theron.
She'd reported him under her real name without any attempt to hide it.
Zoey looked at Lily. "Do you need me to come testify with you?"
"No need, the evidence is already enough. Can you take my books back for me?"
Zoey nodded. "I'll head back then."
Lily went to the office by herself.
But when she walked in, both Vice Principal Gerald Rivera and Hugo were there.
Gerald's tone wasn't great. "Lily, you're reporting Theron now. We want to know if it's because you two had a fight as a couple, which is why he broke into your dorm?"
"Even if there was a fight, Theron bribed the dorm staff to break into a student dormitory and tried to assault me by force. And this isn't the first time he's done this! That's what the school should be investigating, not trying to twist a crime into a lovers' quarrel!"
Gerald raised his voice. "Lily, watch your tone! Aren't we asking you about it?"
But Lily's attitude was firm. She had so much evidence - she wouldn't compromise.
Just then, Austin rushed into the classroom. "You're the one who should watch your tone! Lily didn't do anything wrong. What right do you have to deliberately mislead her and try to twist the facts?"
When Lily turned and saw Austin, her brow furrowed. What was he doing here?
Lily said coldly to Austin, "Please leave the office."
Gerald pointed at Austin. "Unrelated people, please leave. This is an office, not somewhere just anyone can come."
Austin slammed the table. "I'm Lily's brother, I'm her guardian. Why can't I be here!"
Her guardian?
Gerald was stunned when he heard this. "Isn't Lily an orphan?"
Hugo spoke up. "Mr. Rivera, I told you before, she's not an orphan."
Gerald happened to be away during the last campus forum rumor incident.
"Who said Lily's an orphan? Sure, our parents died early, but she still has brothers!" Austin said seriously.
Hugo said quietly, "But you weren't the one who came last time."
"That was my second-oldest brother, Michael. There are seven of us siblings!" Austin explained.
Gerald's attitude immediately improved a lot. "Mr. Roberts, we're investigating this matter!"
Austin said angrily to Hugo, "About this girls' dorm incident, the school must give the parents an explanation. If Lily hadn't been smart, what happened last night would have been unthinkable. Is this how your school protects student safety?"
Gerald was deeply ashamed.
He finally apologized carefully. "It's true the school's work was inadequate. Lily is also a victim. We've finished our investigation. Lily, you can go."
"No way, we, the Roberts family, must hold someone accountable!" Austin said, dissatisfied.
Lily was getting annoyed. "Austin, who told you to come here claiming to be my family? I have nothing to do with the Roberts family!"
She turned to look at Gerald. "I have all the evidence. If the school wants to cover for Theron, I'll sue the school!"
Gerald wiped the sweat from his forehead. "When did the school ever say we'd cover for Theron? We just wanted to understand the situation. See, you misunderstood!"
This Lily was really hard to fool!
There really was no way around it now.
After getting the result she wanted, Lily left the office.
Austin chased after her, his tone careful. "Michael knew about this and told me I had to come stand up for you. He said he doesn't have the courage to see you right now."
"I would have been fine today without you! Stop meddling, and don't try to claim we're siblings anymore!" Lily's tone was firm!
"Lily, do you really think you can handle this on your own?"
Lily saw David and Sophie coming up the stairs. The mockery on her face deepened considerably.
David had a stern face, reeking of alcohol. "That Theron has the Harper family behind him! Do you know how much trouble you've caused?"
Lily thought to herself, 'So they're here to settle scores with me.'
