Chapter 122 Who Can Afford to Provoke
Lily received David's call and found it utterly ridiculous.
In her past life, David was used to threatening her with words like these.
And imposing economic sanctions on her.
But now she had already broken away from the Roberts family. Did David really think she still cared about that business school spot?
"Lily, if you come back now and apologize, I'll arrange for you to enter business school too, to receive elite education just like Sophie."
She replied coldly, "David Roberts, did you forget that I got into Quest University on my own merit, unlike certain people who scored zero on the SAT?"
"Lily, you!"
David was furious. "Fine, looks like you still haven't learned your lesson. Everything I prepared for you, I'll give it all to Sophie. Just wait and regret it."
"I won't regret it."
Lily hung up directly.
Anyway, all these so-called resources were given to Sophie in her past life, too.
She didn't care for them.
Lily returned to her dorm. She opened her phone and saw people in the class group chat also discussing how she was being isolated by the business school students.
Wendy and Zoey pushed the door open and walked in.
The atmosphere in the dorm became awkward.
Wendy was somewhat annoyed. "What bad luck, having to live in the same dorm with certain people! Would it kill you to apologize?"
Lily suddenly pulled back her chair, making a harsh scraping sound.
When Lily stood up, the dorm atmosphere became tense.
Wendy was startled. "I'm not even wrong. How could someone poor like you afford to offend those rich kids?"
"We're all classmates and roommates, let's not make this so tense!"
"Ms. Harper said that if the two of us get too close to Lily in the dorm, she won't let us off either."
Wendy shuffled off to the balcony with her toiletries.
Only then did Lily sit down. She organized her textbooks. In her past life, she had also studied computer science.
These basic courses weren't really difficult for her.
The next day in class, Lily went to the classroom alone with her textbook.
Along the way, Lily felt some people looking at her and discussing something.
She didn't pay much attention. After all, in her past life, because of Sophie, she had been isolated plenty of times!
But when Lily reached the classroom door, she sensed something.
She looked up at the half-closed classroom door and kicked it open.
The next second, a water bucket fell from above the door.
Lily nimbly dodged it, but the onlookers inside the classroom weren't so lucky. Water from the bucket splashed everywhere.
Screams came from inside the classroom.
"Oh my god, dirty water splashed on my clothes."
"Damn it, my dress is limited edition, just bought it."
Lily slowly walked into the classroom. Seeing Samantha and Sophie's disheveled state, she showed a mocking expression.
These people's tricks were really childish!
This was probably Sophie's idea!
Samantha couldn't contain her anger. "Hey, hick, you dirtied our clothes. Get ready to pay up!"
"Hick, if you don't have money, you can work for us to pay off the debt!"
Lily's gaze darkened. "No money, won't pay. If you don't like it, go ahead and sue me."
Did they really think she was easily scared?
She had lived a pampered life before. She knew these petty tricks all too well.
She wouldn't be intimidated by these people's empty words!
Samantha stamped her foot in anger. "Fine, you just wait!"
Samantha had come to watch the show, but it backfired. Now she was covered in dirty water. Disgusting!
Sophie couldn't care about anything else and followed Samantha out of the classroom. "Samantha, I didn't expect Lily would notice."
Samantha slapped Sophie across the face. "It's all your stupid idea. Look what we've become!"
"No wonder you're from the same place as that hick, equally stupid!"
Sophie immediately covered her face, her eyes instantly turning red.
But Samantha stormed off angrily, and the others ignored Sophie and followed Samantha.
Sophie stood there alone, feeling extremely humiliated.
Once she established herself in this circle, she would return today's humiliation tenfold, a hundredfold!
"Looks like being someone's lackey didn't work out so well for you."
Lily stood by the door, arms crossed.
Her eyes carried mockery as she watched Sophie get slapped but dared not do anything about it.
After Sophie realized Lily had seen this, she angrily put her hand down. "You just got lucky this time!"
"I'll always be this lucky. As for you, who knows if you'll be lucky or not."
"David will pave the way for me. In the future, I'll definitely live better than you and marry better than you. And you? You'll be with that poor school doctor for life. Forever just ordinary lower-class people!"
Sophie was in a bad mood too. She could only find some sense of existence by putting down Lily!
Lily looked at Sophie's miserable state, and her mood finally improved a lot.
Looks like Sophie's days of pleasing those rich kids weren't easy either.
Lily returned to the classroom. Soon, a janitor came to mop up all the dirty water, and everything seemed like nothing had happened.
When Lily entered the classroom to choose a seat, there were clearly several empty spots, but they were all claimed.
"Sorry, someone's sitting here."
Lily could tell she was being isolated.
She simply sat in the front row center seat. Nobody sat there.
The class ended quickly.
Lily walked out of the classroom alone. On her way back to the dorm, she saw many clubs recruiting new members.
Lily saw Quest University's gaming team recruiting. The national team would also come to Quest University's gaming team to select people.
If she wanted to join the national team, she could go through Quest University's gaming team.
After all, she didn't want to sign with other teams right now. Commercial contracts would limit her freedom.
But Quest University's team was different.
Lily took the Quest University team's recruitment flyer. "I'd like to learn more about this."
Lily went over and filled out her information.
Although Sophie had affected her mood, she still couldn't give up on her goals.
Lily went to eat lunch. When she returned to the dorm, she suddenly noticed someone had gone through her things.
She checked her belongings. Nothing seemed to be missing.
She saw Wendy coming from the balcony. Her eyes were evasive, clearly guilty.
Lily said coldly, "Did you go through my stuff?"
"Lily, what are you talking about? You're so poor, what do you have worth going through? One of my bags costs more than your living expenses for a year."
Wendy felt guilty but wouldn't admit it.
After Lily sat down, she casually placed the team materials on the desk.
Zoey said quietly, "Lily, you should be careful. You offended the business school people. They're planning how to deal with you."
"I know, thanks."
Lily opened the gaming forum and replied to some posts about game details.
Many people were asking if she had decided to join the Bubble Buddies Team!
What was going on?
She saw that Bruce, the manager of Bubble Buddies Team, had followed her account. Everyone must have misunderstood.
But then Lily received a call from Austin, his tone questioning, "Lily, you want to join the Bubble Buddies Team. Did you consider my feelings?"
