Chapter 90 – Dress Dilemmas and Distractions
It has been a month since that incident. Everything has returned to normal, but Alex's mother still hasn't come out of the shock Natasha gave her. She loved her so much. She thought she was the perfect match for Alex, but she was wrong.
"You're still thinking about her, right?" John said as he gave Sarah a glass of orange juice and sat down next to her on the couch.
Sarah took a sip of the juice and put it on the table as she nodded. "It's still hard to believe that it really happened. But I'm happy that everything is alright now."
John nodded. "Yeah, me too."
"Ding."
"Ding."
"Ding."
John's phone chimed, and he took it out of his pocket before looking at it.
"Who is it?" Sarah asked, looking at the screen.
"Alex," John answered as he looked at the messages Alex sent him.
"Alex is coming home tonight with someone for dinner. He said that I should stay at home."
"With someone? Who is it?" Sarah looked worried already.
"Don't overthink it. It could be someone from the office or his business partner. Maybe he just wants us to all have dinner together," John said, smiling at Sarah.
"I hope so. After that incident, I am scared to meet anyone new. It terrifies me that they would use me against my family again."
John could see the bad effect that Natasha had left on Sarah. He felt sad for her. He reached out to her and wrapped her in a warm, sweet hug.
"Don't worry. That was the past. Nothing like that would happen again. I'm here for you," he assured Sarah.
Sarah nodded and smiled.
She retreated from John and said, "Last time I didn't believe you and Alex, but it won't happen again. I will trust you guys instead of being taken in by someone's false tears."
John smiled at Sarah and once again wrapped her in a warm hug.

"What are you doing? I'm worried about what dress to wear, and you are distracting me," Emily said to Alex, who was hugging her from behind and placing kisses on her shoulder.
It has been two hours since Emily tried to decide what to wear. She has to look her best in front of Alex's parents. Though she had already met them, her heart was still beating fast. She was so nervous.
"You shouldn't have sent them the message that we are coming today," Emily said, taking the other dress from the cabinet and throwing it on the floor, as she didn't like it either. And then she grabbed another dress to check.
"Don't worry. I haven't told them yet that I'm coming with you. So, it would be a surprise for them," Alex said as he placed a kiss on Emily's neck.
"Ahhhhh! Stop doing it!" Emily said, patting her feet on the floor. "Stop distracting me, or instead of going to your parents, we would end up doing something else."
Alex smiled and turned Emily towards him.
"You meant what I'm thinking you meant." Alex smirked.
"No, of course not." Emily threw the dress she was holding in Alex's face. "And let me go. We don't have much time before we go to visit your parents."
"Are you nervous?" Alex asked, seeing a worried look on Emily's face.
"I'm not nervous. I'm a lot more nervous than you can even imagine. I'm really scared. I'm scared that your parents won't accept me," Emily said, looking at Alex.
"Why do you think so?" Alex gently cupped Emily's face. "You are perfect, and more importantly, I love you; you love me; what else do they need?"
"I don't know. I'm still nervous," Emily said, hugging Alex.
"What if they don't accept me? I won't be able to live without you," she said against Alex's shirt's fabric.
"Nothing like that would happen. I'm sure they would understand us and our love," Alex lightly moved his hand on Emily's head.
"If that doesn't happen, I'm going to beat you," Emily said, looking up at Alex.
"Can you beat me? Can you?" Alex suddenly picked Emily up, and Emily wrapped her legs around Alex before he took her towards the study table in the room.
As Alex placed Emily on the table, the papers on it fell to the floor.
Emily smiled at Alex, knowing what he was thinking of doing.
Alex pulled Emily close to him, making their lower bodies come into contact.
"You know there is no way back if we start it. We won't be able to stop, and then we won't be able to meet your parents. Do you really want to do it?" Emily asked, but she had no desire to go anywhere; all she wanted was to be in Alex's arms.
Alex bit his lower lip, considering what Emily said. "Maybe we shouldn't do it then," Alex said, taking a step back from Emily.
"I will take care of it in the bathroom. You find your dress," Alex said with a half-heart and turned around to go into the bathroom.
"What?" Emily wasn't happy with that answer at all.
"What happened?" Alex asked, turning around.
"Maybe we can do it quickly. It won't take much time, right?" Emily said, fiddling with her fingers.
"You won't regret it later, will you?" Alex said with a grin.
Emily shook her head. "Of course not," she smiled.
