Chapter 89 – The Guests with a Secret
Suddenly, Sarah slapped Natasha across the face, and everyone fell silent.
Natasha looked at Sarah with a disbelieving face.
"How dare you slap me? Who do you think you are?" Natasha was going to slap Sarah back, but Alex held her hand.
"You are crossing the line," Alex said.
"And what your mom did—is that right? How can she slap me?" Natasha asked.
"It was you who first played with her emotions. You gave her false hopes, and now you are breaking them. You're even saying bad things about her son; won't she get mad?" Alex said.
"You aren't a good person. So what’s wrong if I say something bad about you?" Natasha smiled.
"And If you try to give all your money to some stupid trust or charity, I would kill myself, and all the blame would be on you. I would complain to the police about all of you and take my life. Then none of you would be able to escape. All of you would be in a lot of trouble." Natasha laughed, thinking she was getting the upper hand.
Alex smiled and said, "You are so innocent, Nat. You always think you are really smart, but you are the most stupid person I have ever met. I knew something like this was going to happen, so I called the special guests only for you." Alex gestured towards Mr. and Mrs. Blake.
"Do you really think I'm that stupid that I would throw away all my money after working so hard for it? I would never do that. I love my company, and I never let go of what is mine. No matter what."
Natasha looked at Alex with a confused face, wondering what he was saying.
"They aren't from any trust? Then who are they?" Natasha asked, surprised.
Alex grinned. "They are from the police, taking note of everything you said."
Natasha's eyes widened, and her heart stopped for a moment. She wanted to run away from there as soon as possible. She knew she was in trouble now.
"Stop lying. You made me say all this. It was you who blackmailed me to say all this. I'm not that kind of girl. I really love you." Natasha started lying again.
"Then why don't you marry me? Let's start our new life," Alex said, taking a step closer to Natasha.
"Is he crazy? Does he really want to marry her? I'm going to kill him," Emily said, clenching her fist.
"Sit back. You will spoil all my fun." Nelson said, smiling at the show in front of him.
"You are having fun, huh? I will deal with you too when we go home," Emily muttered under her breath.
"You don't need to do that, Alex. Why are you destroying your life by marrying her? She didn't even care about her family before hurting them, so How can she love you?" Laura said, rising from her chair. She had enough of all this. The girl she raised with so much love and care was doing all that; she couldn't see it.
"Mom, don't say anything." Natasha tried to stop Laura. "It’s not time to talk about that."
" Why? Are you worried that everyone will know your true face?" Laura said, walking towards Alex and Natasha.
"Please," Natasha begged.
"What is it now?" Sarah asked. She was already shocked by what happened, but it seemed there was more to learn about Natasha.
Laura took a deep breath and then told everyone how Natasha tried to kill Leo for the money.
For a whole minute, Sarah didn't believe what she just heard. She knew Natasha used to love her brother so much. So, how could she do something like that?
"What are you saying?" John was shocked. He couldn’t understand how anyone could hurt their family. "You are lying?" John said to Laura.
"You don't believe me. Wait a minute." Laura said and walked to Leo.
"Come here." She grabbed Leo's hand and brought him in front of Sarah and John before she pulled the neck of his shirt down and showed a knife cut on his neck.
"My son was almost going to die because of her. If she had not run here, we would have found her and thrown her into jail. I always thought of her as my real daughter, and she did this to Leo." Laura said and started crying.
Leo hugged Laura and tried to calm her down, "Don’t cry. Everything is fine now. I'm alright."
'You won't be alright for too long. One day, I will come back and kill all of you.' Natasha thought to herself.
"The reason I did that was because he forced himself on me. I just tried to save myself. But none of you listened to me." Natasha started throwing fake tears.
Leo was shocked to hear that. He never harbored that kind of thought about her. She was his sister. He loved her the most. What she did to him two months ago was still a shock, and now she was accusing him of something so horrible.
"Are you crazy?! I never did that!" Leo yelled.
"What are you worried about, son? She has accepted that she did that, so she would be the only one in possession of the property. The security cameras in the living room captured her perfectly," Wilson said, walking towards Leo and smiling at Natasha.
"You did wrong. We've done so much for you, but for you, money was more important than us," Laura said, tears still falling down her cheeks.
"Ha. Why are you acting now as if you cared for me? You always cared for Leo and were going to give all your money to him. I was only your adopted child; why would you give me anything?" Natasha asked.
"Just when we let you feel like you were our adopted child, we treated you like our real child," Wilson said.
"I don't believe you. You are lying! You, Mom, Leo, and everyone else lied about loving me. But nobody loved me. You were going to send me back to my real parents' house once I turned 25. You were going to make me earn money myself. You weren't going to give me anything!" Natasha yelled.
"That's not true. We were only going to send you there so you could become a little more independent. We wanted you to go through some hardships, so you could realize that life isn't full of roses and nobody can keep giving you money all your life. We were wrong that we weren't strict with you from the beginning. If we had treated you like Leo, this day wouldn't have come. It was our fault that we gave you everything you wanted," Wilson said, with tears in his eyes, but he blinked them back so they wouldn't fall.
"Then why did you do that? You made me like this. Then why are you regretting it now? If you keep giving me everything I want, everything will go back to how it was. I won't hurt myself or anyone else. Won't it be good?" Natasha said. She believed that her dad was going to accept her conditions, and yes, Wilson was ready, but Laura stopped him.
"Do you think we are stupid? Why should we believe you again? And we can't always keep providing you with money. What if one day we go bankrupt? What would you do then? Would you still keep asking us for money?"
Natasha smiled, "That will never happen. I know Dad wouldn't make any decision that would leave his family on the street, so don't worry." She said it as if she didn't understand the real meaning of what Laura was saying.
"You are really a dumb head." Laura looked at Natasha as if she were disgusted by her stupidity.
"Ha. Mom, you are calling me stupid. You aren't smart, either."
"Don't call me Mom. I'm not your mom," Laura said.
"How can I stop calling you Mom? I did it for so many years, so how can I suddenly stop? I know you are mad at me, but you still love me, right?" Natasha took a step closer to Laura and said it with a sweet smile.
"You still love me, Mom, right? You won't send me to jail, right? I love you. I always loved you. And I know you love me too." Natasha grabbed Laura's hand and started shedding tears, which always worked on Laura.
"Not this time," Laura said, sliding her hand away from Natasha. "I'm not going to fall for your tears anymore. You always fooled me. Not anymore." She said, and without saying anything further, she turned around to walk out of the church. Leo followed behind her, and they both walked out of the church.
"Ha-ha-ha. Hahaha!" Natasha started laughing.
"You know what?" She looked at the police officers. "These people are all acting. They are all trying to prove that I'm wrong. I didn't do anything wrong. I didn't hurt anyone." Natasha hoped that they would believe her.
"Sorry, ma'am, but everything you did and said is recorded," the male officer said, tapping on the button-like thing on the bag, which was exactly a camera.
"You were recording me? That's a bad thing. That's against the law," Natasha said with a smile.
"Which law?" the female officer asked.
"This law," Natasha said, pushing the female officer out of her way before she ran towards the door.
"Get her!" the male officer yelled, and they both ran behind her.
Within half a minute, she was caught. She couldn't even run out of the church door.
Both officers brought her back to where she was standing before.
"We are going to take her to the police station. You all have to come to the police station to give your statements," the male officer said.
Alex nodded. "Thank you for your help." Alex smiled.
"No need to mention that. It's our work." The officer said.
"Can we take her back to Australia? We have complained about her there too. She is going to get out of jail soon, as she didn't do anything serious here. I want to take her to Australia, so we can keep her under our supervision. We don't want her to cause more trouble for anyone else."
"Maybe then we can talk to that police station," the female officer asked the male cop, and he nodded.
"Okay, you can come with us if you don't have anything to do here," the male officer said, and Mr. Wilson nodded.
