38. A decision to be made

Hearing the door of suit click closed behind their departure, then the security system being activated, evidence the men were headed downstairs for the day. No surprise there, as the alphas of the pack there was much work that needed to be done, as there was always something for them to handle.

Netayah frowned at the realization that the security alarm had been activated from the outside of the main door, wondering what that meant. Was she not allowed to leave? Were the twins intending on leaving her locked up and isolated inside of their suit, like some kind of prisoner? She vehemently shook her head to dislodge the wondering thoughts, assuring herself that it was just her own overactive imagination getting the best of her.

After all neither of them had thought to implement those same rules or restrictions when she'd been in their private medical area, allowed to move out onto the patio. Maybe they're not even the ones that had activated the security alarm when they left, it could have been programmed to initiate automatically. It was plausible. Either way Netayah made the mental note to talk to them about it at a later date, to see precisely what their expectations on this were. Better to find out right from the mouth of authority, rather than wondering and speculating about it, that was sure to drive her absolutely crazy. Yes, that was much preferable.

Pushing away from the table when her stomach protested the food she was insistent on eating, completely full, she rose to her feet. Gathering up the dishes that the three of them had used for breakfast, she then carried them to the stainless steel sink, returning to finish the rest. When she had managed to clear away the remainder of the mess from breakfast off the table, she focused on cleaning up the dishes she'd dirtied. Once all of the dishes were set off to the side to dry in the strainer, Netayah then focused on scrubbing down the stove and table, along with all the cabinets.

In the space of forty-five minutes the entire kitchen area was sparkling clean, appearing as if she hadn't even cooked breakfast in there. Good. She liked a clean house, it gave her a sense of pride in the home that she presented to the world, she was confident that the twins did too. Over the years she'd learned that how a home was presented to people said a lot about the she-wolf that ruled it, wanting to be a mate the twins could be proud of.

Her mind was still boggled by the discovery she'd made over the course of breakfast, knowing that it was going to take awhile to get used to the idea. She'd been mated to the twins of Blue Diamond. Really. While a part of her still expected them to break out in a grin and assure her they were just teasing with her, Netayah knew it wasn't some joke. She could feel it, sense it. As she had from the moment that she had walked into that office downstairs, looked at the identical faces before her, knowing they belonged to her.Yes, she had been fully aware of precisely what had been fated for their unique bond, she simply hadn't been ready to accept the truth.

Who could blame her?It was just too weird. No she-wolf in existence had ever been bound by two wolves by the goddess, ensuring complete solidarity to the union between them. Until her. What could she be thinking? Why had she chosen two? Her mind struggled to understand what the Moon Goddess could be up to with the decision she'd made, but honestly couldn't fathom her reasoning.

Now that Netayah was faced with having two identical mates to call her own, two men destined to share her life, she was left wondering what to do. How on earth was she expected to do this? To have two complete mates to center her life around, to share the same intense connection, to one day touch and kiss. To mate with, even breed with. Could she seriously do this? On the other hand, how could she not?

Momentarily she considered the option of having to choose between them, to live one life alone, but it only served to create an aching hole in her heart. Netayah clutched a hand to her chest as the thought of picking between them surfaced in her mind, knowing it would mean losing the other. A tear trickled down her face, soon followed by others, anguished at the notion that either of them could be allowed to walk out of her life. No, her inner voice screamed. She was startled by the ferocity of her emotions in that moment, the vehemence of the single word, assuring her of the outcome of her life.

No matter how out of the realm of normality it might be, and it didn't was something uncommon, she couldn't bring herself to choose between them. No, that wasn't it. She couldn't lose either of them. She wouldn't. Xios and Xavier were her mates, hand-picked by the goddess herself, their essence melded from the day of her creation, she wouldn't sacrifice her bond to either. So now she was faced with the reality of having two separate mates of her own, wondering how the rest of their life would work out together.

“Don't worry Netayah,” she talked to herself in the silence of the alpha suit, giving her the pep talk she seemed to be sorely in need of at the time being. “It will all work out in the end. Me, Xios and Xavier are together, it’s all that matters.”

Yes, it was all that mattered.

Is it though? her inner voice challenged.

Yes, she growled back.

You don't look it to me, it shot back.

Fuck, her inner voice—the consciousness resting inside of her—seemed to be in a really bitchy mood today, determined to make her face the truth. Of course, it was right. Though she was living at the palace, in the very same suit since last night and all had acknowledged the bond, that was the extent it had gone. From an outsider's perspective some would question if the three of them were really mated, aside from the kisses on her forehead and touches, it's as far as it’d gone.

It'd been nearly a week since she'd made the startling discovery of them being her mates and by this point mates were mating, some even breeding. While she didn't even have the courage to allow either of them to kiss her on the lips, no mind all the other things mated pairs did together. Netayah shook her head, it didn't matter, she just needed some time. Time to come to grips with all the changes that'd taken place in her life the last three weeks and get better acquainted with her twin mates. And just as soon as she'd gotten better acquainted, more comfortable in their presence, their bond would be taken to the next level.

When Netayah had chosen to have dinner with them last night she'd made the decision to give their lives together a chance, for both her and her wolf. The twins belonged to her now, just as she did to them and nothing or no one was ever going to take that away from her ever again. She'd see to that. She became so consumed by the ferocity of her emotions Netayah failed to notice the sudden glowing of her purple eyes or sense movement in the back of her mind. Gallatayah was awakening.
