Who is the baddie?
Natalia
I watched as they wrapped Lucien in a blanket, taking him into the living room. It has the most windows to let the sun in. The urge to strangle someone was overpowering. Lucien just lay there, not moving. His eyes moved under his eyelids, but his body was stiff as a board. I wanted to wrap my arms around him and make it all better. Marcus looked at me then to Raven. He could see that she was having trouble holding me. When he took a step toward him Raven shook her head at him. Knowing that if he touched me I would most likely lose my shit.
“You are struggling to hold her.” Marcus looked confused that I was that strong.
“We told you, she is different from other vampires.” Draven told him with a growl as he looked at Lucien on the floor.
“Yes you did, but I still don’t believe it.” Marcus didn’t get close, though. “As for Lucien, he has to be kept in this room. No one can touch him.”
I growled at him my eyes starting to show red. I felt the rage in me and wanted to kill Marcus for telling me that I couldn’t touch my child. Even though I knew in my mind that he was right. I watched as Draven moved in front of Marcus blocking him from my view. Raven couldn’t hold me much long as she started dragging me out of the room. I fought her almost enough to harm her, the moment she said I was hurting her I came down a little. Marcus didn’t say anything else about it. Letting Raven pull me away. When we went to the kitchen so I could still see Lucien on the floor. Draven came in grabbed a bag of blood holding it to my mouth. I bite into it tasting the blood run down my throat. Marcus finally came into the kitchen watching me as I drank the blood.
“She is amazing, I can’t believe the coven didn’t kill her right away.” Marcus said as he watched me.
“I am the coven as are my parents.” Draven told him glaring at him. “Don’t ever talk like that to my wife.”
“I didn’t mean to offend you, just saying she is perfection.” Marcus looked over me then to Raven. “You however my love are better.”
I lunged at him when he spoke to Raven like that. He needed to keep his naughty thoughts in his mind. I didn’t want to hear what he had to say about my fucking daughter. The fact that I went after him didn’t seem to bother him at all. He really thought he could take me on.
“If you think you can take her one take it out back. I promise you that you will lose.” Draven told him as he opened the door.
“Oh please let her fight the bloody bastard.” Edgar called from the table.
“Might be fun, but I don’t want Raven to be mad at me because I was stupid enough to take on her mouth and hurt her.”Marcus gave a smile but it fell when he looked at Raven.
“If you think for a moment that you can take her on and win your stupid as dog shit.” Raven told him putting her hands on her hips. “My mother is a beast when it comes to her children.”
I couldn’t help but looked at her like she had lost her mind. That is the first time in a very long time she had said something like that. It took me a moment but then I swung my eyes back to Marcus who looked shocked by what she said. It was like he couldn’t fathom a woman being able to take him down. I would relish it in truth, but I also wouldn’t be able to control it if I did. So I had to take a few steps away from him.
“She is running, how could she take me on?” Marcus really wasn’t understanding that this little woman could harm him.
“Marcus you have no idea what she can or can’t do. The trouble is if she fights you it might end in blood shed. I can’t promise that we could stop her.” Draven told him still holding the door open. “It is up to you if you think you can beat her. I promise you can’t.”
Marcus look a moment to look me over, I could feel my rage building at he thought he was better than I was. It really shouldn’t have mattered but it did. So when he went out the door I bolted toward him, tackling him from behind. The moment we hit the ground he tried to hit me, but I was faster. In a move I twisted his arm hearing it break. He bellowed in pain as he smacked me across my face, which only worked to piss me off more. So I bit into his arm taking a chuck of him with me. I spat it out at him. He was bleeding and holding his broken arm. Marcus didn’t try to get off the ground which only gave me more targets. I never fought when I was human, watched a few but never truly fought. So when his leg went to kick me I stopped it with a hand twisted around with it in my hand. He screamed again his leg snapping. I could see the rage in his eyes and something else that pleased me to no end. Fear! It was a beautiful scent in the air when I spun around landing on his chest. He looked up at my eyes and I could see that he had noticed my eyes.
“You...You...How is this possible.” Marcus grunted when I punched him in the face. I was rather sure his nose was broken. “I give...”
I didn’t care that he gave up, I only knew that he thought it was the big and bad. I had to show him the truth. I felt hands on my arms pulling me away from him. I spun to see Draven holding me close even though he knew I might hit him. I struggled in his arms, but soon a cooling hand pressed against my face. I looked to see Raven smiling at me. When she turned to look at Marcus she laughed.
“We did warn you.” Raven told him as she went to help him up. Even though he couldn’t stand on his own because I had broken his leg.
“She is a terror.” Marcus finally said spitting blood on the ground. “Is she the only one that does that?”
“As far as we can tell.” Raven told him. “There is still time however.”
I laughed at the fear in his eyes that she might be like me. As of right now I was the only one that had a rage mode. I wasn’t sure why I had it, maybe it was because I had always had rage in my soul. It could be that I had to be that way to deal with how people treated me everyday. I might never know.
