Hunt for Nat

Hunt for Nat
Draven

Present Day

I watched in horror as Raven told her mother what she had done. I saw the joy in her eyes when she started to cry. The hate in Raven was growing worse every day. It also shocked him when Nat stood and took off. He couldn't move fast enough to grab her. I spun on my daughter with anger in my eyes. I could see that she wasn't on a high any longer. Her brother looked at her like she had lost her mind.

"You did that on purpose. I know you are pissed off at her, but you had to understand something. She did everything last night wasn't really her. When she sees red it is the nano's taking over. One day you will figure that out. But by that time you do figure things out your mother will have cut you off. She had already started that when we came here." Draven told her with anger in his words. He could see that she understood but it didn't matter she would still do it again.

"Why take her side?" Raven asked as she sat down in the car Nat vacated.

"Last night wouldn't have happened if you had kept your mouth shut. One day you will figure that out as well. Edgar and you are a perfect match. Seeing as part of the reason he was turned into a bird is because he wouldn't shut up. Nor would he stop attacking the witches." Draven told her but he wanted to find Nat. "Besides now we have to find your mother. I doubt she will come home on her own."

"Good." Raven tried to mumble.

"Raven for gods sake shut up." Lucien glared at her. "She is our mother for fucks sake and you treat her like dirt. In a way you desvered what she gave you last night. Mind you not the chocking, but the slap you did."

"You are so not my brother." Raven told him but sniffled.

I couldn't deal with the two of them right now. The need to find my wife was overwhelming but I had no idea where she had gone. I sat on the couch by Lucien seeing hurt in his eyes. This had gone down the drain fast. Draven didn't know what to do at the moment. At that moment Edgar cawed from the kitchen making the pot topple from the stove.

"I wouldn't have thought she had that in her." Edgar cawed as he came into the living room. "Wow what happened here? Did Raven open her mouth and spew hate again?"

"Edgar shut up." Raven growled at him.

"Why would I do that? Your mother killed me and wanted to cook me to protect you. Not my fault you let your mouth get the better of you." Edgar flew up to the top of the shelf. "Any mother who would do that is an amazing woman. No control when she did most of it."

Raven glared at him but I couldn't help but smile. Over the years he had learned a few things. He didn't think about what he said still though. So he would never turn back. Draven didn't think that was a horrible thing. Seeing as he loved to drain people to death. I kept thinking about where Nat would go. Not home that was for sure. The way she moved told me she wasn't looking back. I knew her and knew she would need clothes and some place to stay.

"Draven, you have to find that woman of yours." Edgar cawed at me, but I couldn't look up at him.

"Dad, we need to find mom." Lucien finally spoke to me as he sat forward to look at me. "I didn't know she could move that fast."

"I know, but I have no idea where she went." I told him with a sigh. "She never really acted like a vampire. the strength, the mind talking none of the powers she has. Never really used it because she didn't need it."

"Why?" Edgar looked confused that a vampire would not use the power.

"She isn't a normal vampire. I turned her but there was and has always been trouble turning people in the last couple of centures. I had been working to help vampires come into the light. So she has nano's in her system that helps her, but she never thought about it. It wasn't something she ever thought about." I told him with a sigh.

"I didn't know vampires where having trouble." Edgar cawed from the shelf.

"You wouldn't unless you where closer to the coven over there. I am shocked you found my daughter." I looked from Raven then to Edgar.

"Actually she found me." Edgar told me as he flew down to the table. "She saved me, hence me sticking by her."

"You have changed over the years." I told him but couldn't see it being enough to break his curse. "Would you help us find her?"

"It would be an honor to find her, she is a beast. I fell a little in love with her last night." Edgar cawed but flew out of the house before I could kill him again.

Raven gaped at me then at Edgar. I could understand her not understanding what happened. I was rather sure that Edgar hadn't told her the whole story. I doubted he even recalled most of what happened. Nor would he have a way to explain it to Raven. A talking bird would have been enough for her to want to keep it around. It took her a while to finally ask me about it.

"How do you know him?" Raven asked looking at the floor.

"He was part of our coven when I was much younger. My parents ran the coven and still do. Edgar was a troubled vampire who wanted fresh blood every night. He didn't try to keep the human alive so he left dead bodies all over. That was the frist time he got into trouble. The second was when he attacked a witch. She lived through it because of her coven. They told us to control Edgar. We tried we truely did but he wasn't haveing any of it. So when he killed two witches they came after us. Our coven didn't do anything to them but they figured that if Edgar was a part of us then we should have taken care of him. Mom and Dad finally got the witches to deal with Edgar on their terms. So I had to take him to the witches. That night he thought we would kill them all. Little did he know they were going to curse him. They transformed him into a crow then put him in a cage. It was crazy that they would tormet him. Pluck his feathers, drain blood, but he escaped and they let him. He couldn't truely die so they would every so often go out and find him. One witch cursed him to be able to talk, which made his life harder. Another cursed him to hate human blood. Then they feed it to him. "
