Nano's maybe
Raven
Days turned into weeks, weeks into months. Soon I have been here for over two years. Dad wouldn't let me come home until I was able to tell mom that I was sorry for the way I had been treating her. They came to see me often but I always seemed to show my bad side when mom was around. It would set me back to one and I still didn't really understand why I did it. I have no idea why I did it, it was like I just liked to harm her. Lucian would come and stay for a month or so but ended up going home in the end. I sat looking out the bay window in the living room of the castle. I never knew that castles had them. This was a favortie spot in the castle. I heard grandpa come into the room sitting in a chair looking out the same window.
"Still trying to figure it out?" He always seemed to try and get me to come out of my shell. It normally ended with my storming off to my room.
"Not a clue." I told him not looking toward him.
"Well you are welcome to stay as long as you wish. Though I do believe you have pushed your grandma a little far here of late." Grandpa knew that I just couldn't seem to stop myself at times.
"Prety sure she hates me at this point." I crack a smile at the thought. "Did she tell you about the knife?"
"She doesn't hate you, just doesn't like what you do." He tells me as he looks out the window. "Yes I heard about it."
We both fall slient for a few moments. The fire cracking in the fireplace to my left, pictures covered the mantel. Two chairs had been pulled up by the window to let us sit and watch the weather. A few book shelves lined the wall on the right, covered in books. I just stood watching the birds fly by.
"I have noticed that I don't seem to be as angry here." Which wasn't a lie, I just seemed to like to fight with grandma.
"We noticed, but when your parents show up. That all changes it is like a switch is flipped and you turn into someone else." He tsked for a moment then sighed.
"I noticed that as well." I didn't talk much to grandma about it, but grandpa seemed to pull the information out of me. "I wonder if it is the nano's in my blood that are just flipped the wrong way."
"Have you spoken to Elysium about it?" He knew I hadn't but he still asked.
"No, haven't really had a moment." Which was a lie. I had nothing but time on my hands. "Maybe I should go and see her."
"That might be smart, but you have to let your parents know." He knew that I wouldn't. Which is why he told me that.
"I have to call them." I groaned at the thought, Dad would be the one I talked to. He didn't want mom talking to me if I was going to upset her again.
"You have the time now." He pointed out as I turned to look at him. "Do it now."
I didn't say anything to that just walked out of the room, heading to my room. I had gotten used to the caslte and knew the way without light in the halls. When I entered my room I find my phone on the small desk on the far wall. Picking it up I take a deep breath to make this call. Finally I tap the screen to call my father. He answers on the second ring.
"Raven?" He sounded a little groggy. I hadn't thought of the time change.
"I forgot about the time difference. I wanted to let you know that I am going to try and come to see Elysium about a thought I had." I try not to cry because I really miss my family.
"What is the thought?" He asks and I hear the blankets moving over the phone.
"Is it possible that the nano's in my blood flipped a switch and affected me?" I wasn't sure if he would know or not, so figured I would ask.
"Anything is possible little bird." I can hear him moving out of the room.
"I'll go stright to the house then the lab. Is she still working in the underground or at the clinc?" I asked smiling at the nickname.
"A little of both, most of the time in the underground. Not that many have been going to the clinc. Being a vampire does have that plus." He groans as he stubs his toe. "Dam it, when did that get moved?"
"What got moved?" It was funny to hear him acting more human then vampire.
"One of the small tables in the living room." he grumbles under his breath. "I would suggest calling her in the morning and letting her know what you are thinking. I am sure that she will have some thoughts."
We spoke for a little while longer when I hear him yawn I disconnect the phone. I look at the phone then sigh, I would have to wait for a few more hours before I can speak to Elysium. so I walk around the room cleaning up the mess I had made. Clothes where all neat, the mini fridge was stocked. I pulled out my laptop to check on my school stuff. One of the many things that had caused fights with mom. Grumbling I see that some of the test haven't been graded. Then I see that I passed two of my classes with high marks. I smiled as I looked at the next month of classes. As I am looking I hear a knock on my door.
"Come in Grandma." I call out knowing that it is her.
"Well you seem to be in a good mood." she always came in and checked on me. Seeing if I was keeping the room clean.
"I got high marks for two of my classes." I smiled as I told her closing the laptop.
"That is good. Grandpa told me you are wanting to go see Elyisum." She stopped walking to stand in front of me.
"I called Dad, he told me to call her in a few hours." I smiled hoping that it might be what was going on.
"Maybe she will find something, I am not upset you are here though." That shocked me because we fight all the time.
"Really?" I gave her a look of distaste.
"Yes." It was that simple for her.
