Broken hopes and hearts

Broken hopes and hearts
Natalia

Standing in the living room almost twenty years after I was killed, turned and found my new life. Things had changed so much over the years. I married the vampire who turned me, had his children as well. Became a queen but never felt like one. We had succeded with the community for the vampires. It has been added to so many times over the years. An underground had been added for vampire school, shopping and more. Looking out of the big bay window I watched as snow fell. Snow had always been my favorite things about winter. Hands moved his arms around my wasit pullilng me close.

"My love, I do belive that we have done something amazing here." Draven smiled as he watched the snow.

"It would seem we have. This place has grown bigger than I thought it ever would be." I turned to face him putting my arms on his shoulders.

"Seems strange how we started." Draven put his forehead to mine. "I never thought we would have a family. That we would build something like this."

"God you two." Raven mumbled when she walked into the living room. "Get a room."

"Well hello to you too." I smiled at her, but could see it wasn't one of her good days.

"Hi Mom, Dad." Lucian walked in on his sisters heels.

"You two are home early." Draven looked between the two.

"Traffic wasn't bad thankfully. Elyisum says to tell you hi." Raven put her bag on the table by the door. "Though I don't understand why we came home for a weekend."

"Glad you want to see us." I told her as I pulled away from Draven. "There is bags in the fridge."

"Mom we are fine." Raven glared at me, I wanted to smack the look off her face. The thing was I would never do that. I loved my kids.

"Raven!" Draven glared at her his anger rising at the way she spoke to me.

"You always take her side." Raven yelled again as she turned to go to her room.

"There are no sides on this one. You are being rude to your mother. She just offered you food." Draven told her with a frown.

"She is pissed off about something at the labss." Lucian told us with a sigh. "Elyisum is helping us to get college classes. We can't do them here at the school."

I had thoguht about this over the last few years. Watching as Raven and Lucian starting looking into schools. Trouble was they didn't have very many colleges for vampires in the area. I meant to speak to Draven about it. See if we can get some here, so Raven could actually go to school. Not feel like a freak in the schools.

"Go check on your sister." I told him as he hung his coat up. "We need to find a way to help them. Raven really wants to become a doctor."

"We can reach out to one of the schools and see if they would be interested in doing a satellite school here. I just had tudors and that was it. Nothing more or less. Of course I didn't have to worry about jobs." Draven sighed as he looked at me.

"So we do what we can. I am sure there has to be professors that would do it." I tell him with a sigh. I hated seeing Raven this upset.

I knew that Draven would see what he could do, trouble was it had to be through one of the colleges. They could always do online school, which Ravenw as happy with over all but she couldnt' be a doctor unless she did the time. She might have to change what she wanted at this point. It wasn't that she couldn't do it, but things were aganist it. I sat on the couch as I thought over what we might be able to do. I didn't hear the twins talking or music playing. Figured that she would come talk to us when she figured it out.

"She really is taking it hard. I just don't understand why she would take it out on you." Draven sat on the couch with me.

"Maybe because I did get to do the college thing. I wasn't a vampire then though, so it is different for her. It isn't that I don't want her to. I do, I really want her to succeded in all she wants." I felt tears burning behind me eyes. I didn't want to cry, Raven didn't want to hurt me truely.

"Pretty sure that she knows that. She should also know that you have fought for her from day one. The moment she made up her mind you backed her." Draven put his hand on my leg.

"I know, so does she." I put my hand on his. I looked up when Raven came down to stand in front of me.

"Lucian tells me that I need to say I am sorry." Raven grumbled as she looked at me.

"Raven if you don't mean it then it isn't true. I know you are pissed off. We have been working to get you online classes..To help..." She cut me off.

"Why? You don't want me to do it." Raven was screaming at me at this point.

"Raven!" Lucian came into the room grabbing her holding her close. "Mom didn't do anything to you. Why take things out on her. She has always back us on everything we have wanted to do."

"Let go!" Raven growled out at him.

"No, you need to look at her. Really look at mom." Lucian told her as he held her close.

The moment Raven looked at me she crumbled. Tears were streaming down my face as I watched the two of then. I stood leaving the room, I didn't wait to see what she would do. My heart was breaking. Why she would think that I wouldn't back her hurt. Over the last two years she had gotten mad at everything I did. No matter what I did it wasn't right. I entered my room closeing and locking the door. Sobs that tore from me shaking me to the core. I felt broken to the point that I could stop the tears. Finding my bed I fell onto it. Hearing a knock on the door I ignored it. Letting them figure it because I couldn't right now.
