Monthes go by as we struggled to find a doctor that can help me. I'm so tried that all I really do is stay in bed. Draven seems at his wits end about the whole ordeal. He is over joyed about having a child, but his fear shows everytime she looks at him. I have lost so much weight that none of my clothes fit. The child is killing me slowly. That is the worry about having a vampire child. I'm rather sure that I will be dead soon at this rate. We can't keep enough blood int he house to sustain me and the baby. Draven has gone so far as to bring in humans that know about us to help. It helped a little, but it is still not enough. I crave it all day long and it is horrible. I have tried to plan our wedding, but can't keep my mind on it for more than a few moments. It drains me to the point that I go into a deep sleep. Elysium was keeping a close eye on her, but she is at a lose on how to help her. The doctor that had applied for the job turned out she was a vampire, but she had lied about a few things when she contacted Draven. He isn't sure that he can trust her to help me. His mother came in to help but all she can tell us is to give me as much blood as I could handle. Thankfully I didn't have to really deal with morning sickness. It is more about not dying.
"Nat, you need to drink." Draven handed her the blood bag which was still warm to the touch.
I look up at him with a weak smile as she takes the bag, almost dropping it. Putting the bag to my mouth my teeth sink in taking the blood in. I feel a little better, but it doesn't last for more than a hour. It is almost like I have to drink a whole person a day to keep the baby from killing me. His mother did say that it looked like the baby was developing fast. It wasn't unheard of for vampires. They have a gestation of around four months, mush shorter than a humans. If that was true then I am due to have the baby any day now. Elysium wants me to go to the lab to have the baby. Partly for safty and the babies health.
"I guess it is time to go to the lab." I tell him tring to smile up at him.
"Might be the best idea truely." Draven had been worried that she would go into labor at the house and he had no idea how to help her.
It takes up almost an hour to get me into the car. I lay the seat all the way back so I am sleep. It took everything out of me to get into the car. Draven puts the bags into the trunk then slides into the drivers seat. The trip to the lab was so long, that I worried about Draven as the sun starts to rise. He had taken small amounts of blood to keep the nano's in his system. It is fully up when we pull up to the house. I say to the house but we really pull up to the elevator as the base of the back side hidden by the moutain. Elysium meet us with a gurney helping Draven to get me onto the bed. I groaned as I moved, this baby was really doing to kill me.
"Draven, I think this baby is going to come sooner than we think." I told him as they pushed me into the elevator. "Call our mothers."
He looked from me to Elysium as the doors closed us in. On the ride down he called our parents, telling them to come to the lab. I saw the look in his eyes, it made me worry that I wouldn't make it through this. Closing my eyes I slipped into sleep again. Not caring what was going on, I wasn't even sure if I would live through this.
"We need a doctor to help her, I am not an OB." Elysium told Draven with worry in her tone.
Draven pulled his phone out of his pocket to make another call. It wasn't really what he wanted, but if Shannon could help her then he would get her here. After a few moments he hung up the call. Shannon had said she would come as quickly as possible. Though she was at least an hour out. I suggested she get here fast. Sevreal of the questions she asked I didn't have answers for. She did say to make sure to have enough blood to help her through this. Vampire babies would drain the mother tillshe died. It wasn't that they wanted to harm mom, it was just nature.
"I have an OB coming,but I want you to watch her. I really should have called her before now but I worried for Nat." Draven told Elysium as they walked out of the elevator.
The room they enteres smelled like it had just been cleaned. Sterlized so no germs could get to the baby or Nat. Draven lifted me off the gurney putting me on the bed. Pulling the blankets over me. He kissed my forehead as he sat in the chair beside me. Elysium handed the gurney to one of the many staff. Then came into the room to try and put in an IV. That way they could get the blood in a little faster. No matter what she did, she couldn't find a vein, which worried her.
"Draven we have to get blood in her, I can't find a vein for the IV." Elysium turned to leave to grab a few bags of blood.
Entering back into the room she watched as Draven feed his blood to Nat. It seemed to help her so Elyisum handed him one bag of blood then helped Nat to drink the bag. After four more bags Elysium was able to get an IV in. Putting some of the synthetic blood on drip. It would be a very long day, which made her wonder how a vamipre would travel to get here to help with the birth.
"How will Shannon get her in the daylight?" Elysium asked as she looked toward Draven.
"From what she said the human who helps her from time to time will put her in the trunk in her garage then drove here." Draven explained to me with a sigh. He looked worried, his hand going through his hair making it look like a mess.
"You need sleep." Eylsium told him but knew he wouldn't leave Nat.
