Finally There

Finally There
“I was so shocked I screamed into the phone. I did get to speak to her for a few moments. She said that Draven had brought her to his house up here so that she wouldn’t have to think about the kidnapping. She didn’t get into how they got away or so on. I am just so happy that she is alive.” I was floating as we ate lunch.

I could see that Hunter was over the moon that Natalia was alive and safe. The cafe was one of the small places, like a mom and pop the locals called it. I looked at Hunter and knew that I would take him back in a moment not.

“Who is Draven?” Hunter didn't know about that part yet.

“Oh he is George her bodyguard, I think he is more than a bodyguard if you ask me.” I had seen the way he looked at her. Draven had fallen for Natalia a long time ago. It wasn't a shock that Nat loved him too.

“I am sure it will be a great story when we do finally get there, how much longer till we get to the house.” Hunter asked as he looked into my eyes talking to me llike a human not a atm.

“I think it is maybe another hour by interstate and two or so by the back roads. The GPS said it was round trip six hours or so. I am not good with directions as you know.” it it wasn't for the GPS I would be lost already even though it was pretty much a stright shot.

“I can recall a time you turned left and ended up at kegger.” Hunter laughed at the memory.

“If I recall right that is where I meet you.” I said and raised an eyebrow daring him to deny that. He didn’t however, he laughed at me.

Well more to the fact I recalled meeting him at a college kegger. It was nice to laugh again and feel like things were easier in my life. Maybe I had been stupid to divorce him; it would make sense seeing as that is what Natalia told me all the time. I never really noticed how much I talked to her and relied on her to do simple things for me.

“You miss her don’t you?” Hunter asked when he saw the sad look crossing my face.

“Yes, I didn’t really think about it till this moment. I hate that I never noticed how great our family was till I messed it up and our daughter was taken and almost killed.” I could feel the tears building in my eyes.

I knew that I could get through this, with Hunter by my side I would be alright. The rest of the trip flew by and I loved being able to listen to music loud and sing as I drove. Hunter singing off key beside me. I really thought that we could have just drove and not stopped for a few more hours. The thing with that I would miss my daughter. The snide tone when she knew she was right about things that I didn't see. It took way to long for me to see the truth. As we turned on to a drive way, at least I thought it was a drive way. Trees lined the drive but once the house came into view I was shocked to see that no trees where close to the home. It was a stunning home, the way it was attached to the moutain behind it.

"That house is worth a million or more." Hunter whisled as he looked over the house.

"You are most likely right. She never gave me Draven's last name." I told him then thought about it for a moment. I decided it wasn't really worth my time.
