Oh those images
“What the hell? Why didn’t you tell me this little bit of information, it would be nice to know that I happen to be a queen now.” Nat glared then slapped my chest.
“Oof, Well with everything that was happening I didn’t have time to tell you everything. I still haven’t told you all the power information.” I told her but she was already turning away.
“Psh, you should have told me the queen info right off.” She glared once more then walked back toward the kitchen.
I sighed and looked at Sydney. She just had to say something didn’t she. I nodded toward the kitchen and then started walking, having closed the front door.“You just had to tell her didn’t you? Had to piss her off…” I told her with a roll of my eyes.
“It is your own fault; you should have told her the truth. Being honest with the ones we love helps a great deal.” Sydney told me with a shrug.
“Who says I love her?” I asked knowing the truth of it.
Sydney laughed her hair brushing her shoulders. It was nice to hear her laugh again. Strange almost that she wanted to smile. The trouble was that she liked to see me in trouble too.
“Oh it is written all over your face my lord. You are head over heels for her or you would never have turned her. My human will be in with my bags in a moment.” Sydney waved at the door.
I nodded and kept the door unlocked for her human to come in. Yes we had kept humans, but most of them wanted to be turned. Some just wanted jobs and would take whatever was out there. Vampires in general had money, new turns and such did have to struggle a little with earning their money. As for the ones that worked for a living they normally had to have humans during the day. So we tried to keep humans on the pay roll. Granted most of them ended up died or turned by the end. Some just didn’t know how to keep their mouths shut. I know that sounds harsh, but we have to protect ourselves. Coming out to the humans isn’t a great idea, and then we would have to explain what and who we are. I don’t know about your vampires reading this but I don’t feel like going into my long history. So we hide in plain sight and blend in with the humans. Instead of going into the kitchen we went into my office. I had my desk and computer in this man cave (Well that is what most men would call it). The walls were covered in photos of places I had been, no dead animals on my wall. Never liked to stuff dead things like that, books shelves covered the wall. Each of the shelves were stuffed to the edges with old books. Some older than myself, but I didn’t really want to go into that. I did have an original William Shakespeare book. I would have loved to have him sign it, but I missed him by a day. During those years I had spent many nights at The Globe. Watching different plays and how they could work in some fun. It almost made me want to ponder my life.
“So you are ok with turning these four? I hope you don’t mind sticking around long enough to see them through at least a few of the test. Natalia has agreed to go through some of the test as well. Not too sure if it will work, to be able to see the sun…to be a little more normal.”It was a shock that I really wanted to see the sun rise. As a born vampire I had never seen the sun rise or set, to never see the way it changed the sky from blues to pinks and sometimes purples. The night sky did have its views and how the stars could twinkle but it wasn’t the morning sky.
“You really do have it bad for her. Have you told her about children? Also are you going to marry her, the way of our people is that the king should marry his queen.” Sydney asked the one question I didn't have an answer for.
“I think he should ask HER first.” Natalia stood in the door way glaring a hole in both of us.
I sighed then jumped up to try and stop her from leaving. Anger wasn’t a good emotion for a newly turned.
“Wait…” it wasn’t really an order but she froze in her tracks. “I would like to have you in on this conversation. The fact that our ways to have the king marry his queen I want you to be comfortable with this life and me first. Maybe even love me…” I could hear Sydney when she tried to cover up her laugh with a slight cough.
I rolled my eyes and tired not to be pissed at her. After a moment Natalia turned and looked at me and let her eyes wonder my body. What can I say vampires are very sensual most of the time they us this to find prey. I loved the way she looked at me…Wait there is that word again. I didn’t move till she found a sit on my desk…Oh the thoughts running around my head. I really had to block hard to keep Sydney from getting some of the images.
“So we will have five to test the nano tech on. I hope that they will help with some of our non-human issues. The food thing would be great to have, so I am told at least.” Sydney spoke from the leather couch, she looked at her pants then started to pick at a stray string.
“There are so many taste and textures with food. So many things you can do with certain foods that would blow your mind.” Natalia told her with a bright smile. Thinking about the things she would do to me.
Believe me I could see the images in her mind and I wanted to take her right there on my desk. I had to reposition myself in my rather tight jeans. Sydney couldn’t stop the laugh this time and I couldn’t help but laugh with her. Natalia didn’t understand yet but I would have to explain before she went through the test.
“Draven you should really teach her about…Um…blocking.” Sydney said with a cough again.
I would think she was coming down with a cold if she didn’t stop that.
“Yes I have so much to teach her. Most turned vampires would know much of it because of the vampire. She does have a natural ability to not kill the humans she feeds on. I hope she is able to get the synthetic blood soon.”
“She is sitting right here, don’t talk like I’m not in the room. What are you meaning when you say blocking?” Natalia was starting to get angry again, it was part of the newly turned vampire. Little things could piss them off and they would rage for hours.
