Chapter 110 - The Blessed Luna
Shelby's POV
I left the door after a moment to clear my mind and headed straight upstairs. I can't put off leaving any longer.
"We need to talk." I said to Thomas seriously, when barging into his office.
"No conversation that is good has ever started with those four words." He chuckled.
"I need to go see the Fates."
"Why?" He asked curiously and a bit confused.
"There have been some things said and I need answers."
"Can you elaborate a little bit for me?"
"There has been some talk about princes, this revolution, me being some kind of savior, and you know I hate getting puzzle pieces, especially when it's a huge puzzle and the pieces are given to me so few and far between."
"When are you wanting to leave?"
"Since we have nothing important going on, I'd like to leave now."
"This very minute, as in now?
"I mean today. I'd have to let everyone know, so Jenna and Jackie can take over. I wanted to talk with you first."
"You know I wouldn't object. I couldn't stop you, even if I tried."
"We are a team, that is why I came to you first."
"Make all the arrangements you need. Let me know when you are done. I have lots to do today myself. I love you."
He got up from his desk and gave me a passionate kiss.
"I promise it will be a quick trip. I'll pop in, get the information I need, and be back before you even know I'm gone." I hugged him tightly.
He's such a baby sometimes. I guess everyone needs reassurance every once in a while. I went to find Jenna. Luckily, she was with Jackie in the kitchen. Her munchies were getting more and more intense every day.
I told them the situation and they agreed I should go. I still haven't told anyone what I suspect about myself. I will once I'm sure. I hate leaving, but I know I'll get some answers. On the way back up the stairs, I got a cold chill. I was almost at the door to Thomas' office when I got another cold chill.
'Something isn't right.' Annabella said.
'I feel it too. Like I have eyes on me.'
I froze in place. I turned around. The hall was empty. After dealing with all the gods, I know they can hid themselves.
"Show yourself, please." I said in a sweet voice.
Nothing. Did they leave? I stayed that way for a minute and turned back to go in the door.
"My, my, what a pretty little thing you turned out to be."
I whipped around to see an empty hall.
'That voice ... I know that voice. I can't remember who's it is though.' Annabella growled, already on guard.
I just went into Thomas' office and shut the door.
"What's the matter? Why do you look so scared?"
"There was a voice in the hallway but no body. It was a man's voice, but I can't place it. Annabella said it sounded familiar to her."
"Have you ever heard the voice before yourself?"
"No. I'm going to my office and getting things ready for Jenna. I'm going to leave your door open just in case."
"Do you want me to walk with you?"
"No, that's fine. I know you're busy."
He nodded and resumed his paperwork. I opened the door and headed down the hall. I didn't get a creepy feeling. I walked to my office and opened the door. Nothing.
"I'm losing my mind." I laughed to myself.
I walked over to my desk and froze when the door shut.
"And why do you say that?" The voice from before said behind me.
I förced myself to turn around and look. He was a mountain of a man, long brown hair, and tan skin that glowed. He had bright, radiant, electrifying blue eyes. I was scared, but felt a sense of familiarity.
"Who are you?" I finally got my mouth to work.
"I just came to see the förbidden child. I have heard a lot about you through different sources lately. I am Hyperion. I plan on becoming a more permanent fixture in your life. I intend to know my only granddaughter and greatest sacrifice. Maybe ... you should also pay your mother a visit."
Before I could say another word he was gone. Jenna opened the door a second later. Did he leave because he knew she was coming?
"Hey Boss! I'm ready to take over. Are you alright?"
"Yeah." I replied, no sense in getting anyone up in the air just yet, I still need answers. "Just trying to remember what I need to ask."
"Do you wanna make a list?"
"Even if I did I'd forget something. I'm just going in and going to try to get answers to the main things I need to know. Don't worry, I'll tell you everything as soon as I get back."
"Are you sure you don't want me to go with you? It would be like a girl's trip." She gave me a pleading look.
Ugh! She was so hard to say no to when she gave me that pleading, puppy dog eyes look. Fight the look ... fight the look. Ugh!
"Fine. Let's tell Jackie."
Jenna screamed and started jumping up and down. Before she calmed down Thomas was at my door.
"I heard a scream. Is the voice back?" He asked before seeing Jenna's excitement. "Ohhhh, you couldn't say no could you? James isn't going to like his pregnant wife teleporting."
"Wait, what voice?" Jenna asked confused. "And James can sück it, I'm going."
"We'll talk about the voice later." I said trying to put it off.
"Fine. Let's go get Jackie."
"Jackie's going too?" Thomas raised his brow.
"No. She's gotta do mine and Shelby's jobs while we are gone."
"I'm sure she'll love that." Thomas rolled his eyes.
We all walked down to the living room where Jackie was, James and Liam were playing a game while she was watching.
"Hey sis, you get to be Luna. I'm going with Shelby."
"Yeah ... No. I'm only Gamma because of Liam. I never wanted a job with a title."
"No, she's not going with you either. I'm next in line to be Luna and I don't want it." Liam panicked.
Why was he panicking?
"Oh oh oh ... Shellie, take Liam and Jackie so I can be Luna. Two besties ruling the pack. Making big decisions and laying down the law of the wolf." James got excited.
We all laughed at him.
"Dude! Why are you like this?" Thomas laughed shaking his head.
"Well, the more this drags out the more time we waste. How about James takes over Luna and Jackie be his Beta, Liam you can be Thomas' Beta?"
"Deal?" They all four said at once.
"We have to go now. We'll be back as soon as possible."
We hugged and kissed our husbands. Jenna came over to me, I grabbed her hand and away we went.
We popped up in the room with the loom. The only way I knew how to get here was to think of this room.
"Feels nice to pop in on someone else for a change." Jenna giggled. "Guess we got all eternity for this."
"What?"
"Oh yeah, we completely forgot to tell you. Your grandmother Rhea, she granted all four of us immortality too. I guess with everything else going on we forgot to tell you."
"Understandable, but that's not a small thing to forget."
"True. Thomas wanted us to wait to tell you on your wedding day. So, we kinda set it in the backs of our minds."
I hugged her tightly.
"I love Thomas to death, but I'm glad he's not the only one I get to spend eternity with."
"Awww. How sweet." I heard Lachesis' voice.
I let go of Jenna and we turned to the door. There stood the three Fates giving us admiring looks.
"We know why you're here Shelby." Clotho said, getting straight to the point.
"We have been given a new prophecy through the string's design." Atropos beamed.
"Please sit and we will be right back to explain." Clotho pointed to the giant pillows on the floor.
We took a seat as the Fates left the room.
--- Hopefully now things will become a little more clear. I just hope they don't talk in riddles. ---
