Chapter 165

Chapter 165
Wendi

Wendi was standing knee deep in the water near the shore of the crystal lake, as Tony splashed around her. Wendi was trying to catch his tail in a game of tag. He was bouncing in a circle, splashing wildly while swishing his tail towards her, and pulling it away again. He dodged in and out as she reached out and grabbed at it wildly. Each time she missed it, he barked and howled happily.

With the Alphas schedule it was a rare thing that the wolves got to experience their natural form. Wendi was having a good time, enjoying the silly playful side of Tony before he inevitably turned back into Alex’s human form and made love to her on the shore. She shivered in anticipation. Wendi wasn’t one hundred percent sure what to expect but she knew that it would work out because Tony loved her just as much as Alex did.

Seeing Tony goofing off was such a contrast to Alex, her eternal protector and control freak of a mate. Before they left the Pack house, Alex had already packed a small backpack that contain a blanket, a couple of water bottles and a simple snack. He placed it on her shoulders before he shifted so she could go for a run on Tony’s back.

Tony swam out into deeper waters and Wendi could see his tail happily wagging. He dove down as a wolf and broke the surface as a man. Wendi blushed as Alex's nude form begin to walk back to her. His eyes were yellow, and he had an unusually stiff posture.

“Mate, beautiful mate.” Tony said as he opened his arms to her.

Wendi took a few steps towards him but the rocks were slippery and she began to wobble. Tony snatched her up into his arms bridal style. “Safe” he said as he carried her to the shore and set her on the big flat rock.

Wendi giggled as he proceeded to lick up the side of her face. “Tony” she squealed.

He looked her in the eyes. “Say more” he said.
Wendi raised an eyebrow. She was a bit confused as she tried to understand. He pointed to himself. “Name.”

Wendi smiled, “Oh, you want me to say your name again. I get it, you're afraid I can't tell the difference between you and Alex. I know that you're Tony. My Tony.”

Tony spun in a circle like he was chasing his tail. Which would have been cute had he been in his wolf form. But as a man it just looked ridiculous and Wendi began to laugh hysterically.

“Like laugh” Tony said as he reached out and pulled Wendi into a hug.

“I like you, Tony” she told him. He leaned in and he began to kiss her. It was the complete opposite of the way that Alex kissed her. It was soft and relaxed. Full of affection and a hint of mischievousness.

Suddenly Tony froze. His entire body began to shake and he growled. “Bad” he snarled.

He grabbed Wendi up off of the rock and threw her over his shoulder as he began to run. “Bad,” he exclaimed as he sped through the trees without a stitch of clothing on. “Bad, Bad!”

“Tony, What’s happening? What’s wrong?” Wendi asked as she tried not to panic. The blood was rushing to her head and Wendi was beginning to get dizzy. “Please put me down.” She screeched
Tony just kept running as he yelled, “Save mate!”

Wendi heard the sound of running footsteps behind her. She placed her hands on his back and raised up to see that they were being followed by unfamiliar warriors. She realized that Tony was panicking because the Pack was under attack.
Wendi could tell the minute they cleared the woods and were back into the maintained grasses of the main Pack grounds. She knew they were near the training grounds. “Weapons” Wendi ordered.

Before Tony could answer her, a huge brown wolf crashed into their side causing Tony and Wendi to tumble to the ground. As he fell, Tony twisted so that he hit the ground and Wendi landed in his arms. “Are you okay?” she asked Tony as she scrambled off of him.

He barked and she heard the tattletale crack as he shifted into his wolf form. He jumped to his feet and lunged at the brown wolf that was growling at Wendi. She got to her feet and realized she was only a few feet from one of the weapons racks.

Tony and the brown wolf were circling each other as she jumped the fence and grabbed one of the training staves from the rack and rushed back to help her mate. He again lunged at the wolf and sank his teeth into the brown wolf’s neck. Wendi knew it was over before it really began, as the brown wolf yelped and fell to the ground.

Tony untangled himself from the body and ran to Wendi’s side. He stopped near her and dipped down to the ground so Wendi could crawl onto his back. She kept a firm hold on her staff as she wrapped her arms around Tony’s neck. “Go” she said as he began to speed on towards the Pack house.

As they entered the green space near the Pack house Wendi was horrified. Wolves and humans were fighting everywhere. Bodies were scattered about the yard, and blood was smeared everywhere. Wendi frantically searched the space for either Leo or Asher. She spotted Kami near the porch. Kami has enough spatter on her to let Wendi know she hasn’t been standing around knitting booties. Cole was much deeper in the yard, fighting a russet-colored wolf and already had a bloody ear. Sam was on the other side of the field taking on two people in human form at the same time.

Leah and Sansa both came out of the house and transformed. Leah into a black wolf with a white face and Sansa into a solid white wolf with eyes the color of Alex’s. They lept off the porch and into the fray.
