Chapter 652 Phone Password

Soon, I spotted Willard and Matthew chatting outside the DreamBuild Group building. They were leaning against the hood of a car, each holding a beer, and seemed to be having a good time—far from the tense scenario I had imagined.

I was surprised to see them getting along so well.

After parking my car, I walked over to them. When they noticed me, Willard smiled and said, "Alright, my job here is done. Time to head back to work."

As he turned to leave, he whispered to me, "Emily, he truly loves you. Trust me."

I glanced at Willard, who gave me a reassuring pat on the shoulder. Though he didn't say anything more, his forlorn expression told me he was letting go of his feelings for me. This brought me a sense of relief; it was better for both of us if he could move on.

When I reached Matthew, he remarked, "Willard's a good guy. You should trust him more."

"Am I dreaming?" I touched my forehead, checking for a fever. How could these two, who used to be at odds, now be complimenting each other?

"I don't know if you're dreaming now, but soon, you will be," Matthew said, pulling me towards his car. I quickly stopped him, saying, "You can't drive; you've been drinking."

So, Matthew led me to my car instead. Once inside, he said, "Let's go buy a phone."

I shook my head. "No need. Your phone is with Victoria. Just get it back from her."

Matthew looked at me and asked, "Did she use my phone to contact you?"

I laughed. "No way, unless you gave her your passcode. She answered when I called you."

"I didn't give her my passcode. Do you want to know it?" Matthew asked, catching me off guard. Part of me was curious, but I knew it was important to respect his privacy. Just as I was about to decline, Matthew said, "Actually, you already know my passcode."

"I do?" I blinked, unsure. Matthew nodded.

I thought for a moment. Matthew had never told me his passcode, and I prided myself on my memory. Could it be related to me?

"Is it my birthday?" I guessed, and to my surprise, Matthew nodded. My eyes widened in disbelief. He had used my birthday as his passcode!

Feeling touched, I leaned in to kiss him. I intended it to be a quick peck, but Matthew held my head and deepened the kiss, his hands starting to wander.

I pushed his hands away and, with a smile, said, "What's the rush? I'm not going anywhere."

It was the first time I had teased Matthew like that, and he seemed to enjoy it. He gave me a mischievous look and said, "Then hurry up and drive."

We headed to Serenity Meadows Villas. Despite Ryan's warning not to get too carried away, I did my best to accommodate Matthew. He understood my situation and didn't push too hard.

After our intimate moment, he held me close and kissed my forehead. "The next little while might be tough for you. I'll be following my mom's plans and going on more dates because I need more allies."

I asked, "Are you going to take on Carol?"
