Chapter 632 Taking Photos
Chapter 632 Taking Photos
I was caught off guard for a moment, not expecting my random thoughts to drift to Matthew. I scoffed internally; why should Matthew occupy my thoughts? He didn't deserve it.
While I was lost in my thoughts, Victoria's autograph session was finally wrapping up. However, many people weren't satisfied with just an autograph and wanted to take photos with her. Because there were so many people, Victoria agreed to take individual photos with five of the bosses, and a group photo with the rest.
"Ms. Johnson, would you like to join us?"
Victoria deliberately asked me when it was time for the photo. Of course, I shook my head and declined. It would have been fine before, but my face hadn't fully healed yet.
Instinctively, I touched the scar on my face. To my surprise, my skin felt smooth, without the roughness of the scar. I was stunned for a moment, then picked up my phone to use the screen as a mirror. It seemed my face had healed without me even realizing it. This was fantastic news for me.
"Come on, Ms. Johnson, join us for a group photo."
"Yeah, it's a rare opportunity to have a photo with a big star like Victoria and a beauty like Ms. Johnson."
"Ms. Johnson's face looks even better than before."
The last comment was muttered quietly. They were probably used to seeing the scar on my face and found my current appearance unfamiliar.
I didn't want to take a photo with Victoria, but I couldn't resist the persuasion of the five bosses and the employees. In the end, I had no choice but to join them for a group photo. I stood next to Victoria, initially thinking she was taller than me. But once we stood side by side, I realized I was wrong. The last time I saw her, she must have been wearing high heels, making her appear as tall as Matthew. In reality, Victoria was slightly shorter than me. I could clearly feel her standing on tiptoe, which made me quite pleased. Even though I wasn't much taller than Victoria, a little bit still counted, and it was a height she could never reach.
"By the way, I'm also attending a jewelry store opening ceremony. Would you like to join the fun?"
Victoria said this casually while we were taking the photo.
Her sudden invitation to the jewelry store opening ceremony puzzled me. I glanced at Victoria out of the corner of my eye, but her face revealed nothing. She was still smiling at the camera.
I thought about it. Since Victoria mentioned the jewelry store opening, it must have something to do with me or Matthew. I knew it probably wasn't good news for me, so I said, "Thanks for the offer, but I don't have the time."
"Really? That's a shame. Matthew will be there too."
Victoria pretended to be disappointed. Hearing that Matthew would be coming to Everglade City did surprise me a bit, but I still wasn't interested in the jewelry store opening. Even if Matthew was going, what did it have to do with me?
"Looks like you don't care much about Matthew. That's a good thing." Seeing that I didn't respond, Victoria whispered.
"After dinner, head to your place. I'll send you the location."
I didn't feel like talking to Victoria any longer. After the photo, I sent her the location and then basically told her to leave. Victoria was reluctant, clearly wanting to chat more, but I was firm, so she had no choice but to leave.
After she left, I still didn't feel as calm as I had hoped. I was agitated, so much so that I wanted to find someone to yell at or even hit. If Matthew were in front of me, I might have bitten him!
Unfortunately, Matthew wasn't here, and he hadn't told me he was coming to Everglade City. Victoria had, which made me even sadder.
"Matthew, you jerk, what do I even mean to you?" I muttered to myself, cursing Matthew.
To my surprise, when I got back, Maria reminded me to attend the jewelry store opening ceremony the next day.
