Michael’s POV
“Here you go,” I propelled the documents toward Frazier seated directly opposite me.
I had just arrived at the beer parlor. He rolled his eyes and shakily held the file to himself. He opened it, and then his eyes widened. He turned to me with a stunned expression.
I smiled. “Your tip was very helpful. We found Savannah in the store you described and right now, she’s in custody,”
Frazier stared at the document before him in disbelief and then looked up to me. I maintained my smile.
“I’m a man of my word, Frazier. I signed an agreement and you signed as well. You provided your end of the bargain and I just did mine,”
He began to fiddle with the pages of the document while the corners of his mouth stretched in excitement. “You gave me 30% of your shares?” He asked in disbelief.
Well, 30% shares might seem too much to give to someone for just a tip but when it comes to Madison, I don’t mind giving up my entire wealth to make sure she’s safe. With Savannah out of the way, I’m sure she’ll ease more comfortably into our new life.
“Yes, Frazier,” I replied. “I gave you 30% of my company shares which means you’re free to drop by the company anytime to claim it in cash or investment,”
“Wow!”
“Nothing is too much for the one I love,” I told Frazier.
Frazier hugged the file. For the first time in forever, he smiled at me. “Thank you, Michael,”
I nodded and then stood up. I was about to leave when I sighed and turned back. I sat before him.
He looked at me with a blank expression. “Did you change your mind?” He asked and stared at the documents in his hand.
I shook my head. “No, I didn’t change my mind and as for the documents, they are authentic which you have already confirmed. I just want to make something clear,”
Frazier swallowed.
“I’m sure if we didn’t have a fallout ten years ago, both of us would have been unstoppable in the business world today but shit happened. That night when you found me in your study with Halle, I didn’t have anything to do with her,” I said.
His eyes widened.
I sighed. “Believe it or not, I went to your place to hand over the documents we talked about but instead of finding you in the study, I found Halle. Before I could blink, she stripped before me and tried to…”
I stopped after a sigh. “She tried to seduce me and I know it’s hard to believe but she won’t stop forcing herself on me. She said something about having a crush on me and trust me, Frazier. I wanted to bang her right on top of that table because she’s hot but something stopped me,”
I looked into his eyes. “She’s your wife and I don’t do married women. It’s safe to say Halle tried to force herself on me but then, I was the man in the situation and society would never take sides with a man in such a matter,”
“I don’t know what to say,” Frazier finally spoke after a brief moment of silence.
I stood up with a smile. “You don’t have to say a word. I just needed to make things clear,” then I stretched my hand toward him. “Pleased to make your acquaintance, Mr. Frazier. I hope we start afresh and make exploits in the business world,”
He shook my hand with a smile and immediately stood up. “You’ve earned my respect, Michael, and I’m sorry for everything,”
I smiled, turned around, and stepped out of the beer parlour. I came here with the shares right after I was sure that Savannah was safely put behind bars. I made a promise to Mr. Frazier and this promise, and I have fulfilled it.
I traced my way to the spot where I parked my Cadillac and got into the vehicle. I started the car and drove down the straight path ahead of me with a smile on my face.
I had placed a phone call to my residence from the police station and Madison was the one who responded. I told her about Savannah’s arrest and for a moment she was rendered speechless before she broke out laughing and said “Well done, Michael, you did it,”
As I’m driving right now, I’m pondering her words. I didn’t do it alone. It was her love and strength that saw me through so Madison and I did it.
We did it!
I drove toward Richard’s residence and immediately pulled the car to a halt in front of his house. He deserves to know about Savannah’s arrest.
I stepped out of the car and made my way into the building. Then I marched straight to the living room. The door was left open so I simply opened it and walked into the living room.
I stopped in my tracks when I caught the spectacle in front of me. Richard was on the twin couch and right next to him was a woman. They were hugging and kissing each other passionately.
I might have shown up at the wrong time but Richard never mentioned that he had a girlfriend or was she the lady he was talking to?
Perhaps he wanted it to be official before he notifies me.
Since they were backing the door, the busy duo didn’t even notice me. I retreated and was about to turn around when something caught my attention.
The woman’s hair!
That brown curly hair was something I had seen too many times. Suddenly, she threw her head backward, giving Richard the leverage to smear her neck with kisses and that was when I saw her face.
“Carissa!”
I muttered under my breath and immediately cupped my mouth with my hands. Then I slowly retreated from the living room. When I stepped outside, my eyes widened in disbelief. Carissa and Richard? How did they even? I mean, since when?
I broke into a laugh.
They looked hot though and seemed to be into each other. With Richard, I’m very sure there are no games here. I smiled and traced my way back to my car.
I can’t wait to get home and tell Madison what I saw.
I got into my car and drove to my residence. Then I wheeled the car to the parking lot and quickly alighted. When I neared the living room, I heard laughter rising from the inside.
The sound of the piano playing from the inside was also reaching me from my spot. I quickly made my way to the living room and saw my entire household except Ank who was at the gate.
They were all holding glasses of red wine. Georgia was sharing slices of cake on a platter while Dan was the one behind the piano.
Madison turned around and saw me by the door. She stood up with a smile and handed over her glass of wine to me. “We thought we should celebrate after the victory with Savanah,”
Dan immediately stopped playing when he saw me.
I took the glass from Madison and drank the wine. I handed the empty glass to her and turned to Dan. “Keep playing,” then I turned to Ferdinard. “Why don’t you tell Ank to lock the door and get his ass over here. No one should be left out in the celebration,”
“Of course,” Ferdinand replied and stepped out.
Clenard came forward with a plate of cake slices. “I baked yesterday. Turns out it was going to come in handy,”
I took a piece with a smile.
Madison went to refill her glass. Georgia walked up to me with a smile.
“Congratulations, young Master. The enemy is out of the way. You did it,”
I smiled. “We all did it Georgia,”
Ank walked into the living room together with Ferdinard. I turned to Ank. “Don’t be such a bore and you don’t have to be too uptight. With Savanah out of the way.,
“I’m fired?” Ank spat.
Dan stopped playing.
We all laughed.
I shook my head. “No Ank. I’m trying to say you can relax and have some fun. I’ll also get you an assistant and that way, you’ll be working shifts,”
He smiled.
“Come and have a drink,” Georgia pulled him.
Madison returned with two glasses of wine and handed one to me. She stood by my side with her glass. I wrapped my hand around her waist, cleared my throat loudly, and turned to the room.
“I want to make a toast,”
They all lifted their glasses.
“I’m making a toast to Madison and me, to new beginnings,”
“To new beginnings,” everyone chanted.
Madison and I struck glasses and then drank happily. I leaned toward her. “I say it’s time to finally have that honeymoon. What do you think?”
She looked up to me with a smile. “The lake or country house?”
I sighed. “I was thinking we would travel around the world. Starting from your castle in London,”
She smiled but I noticed that the smile didn’t go past her lips.
“You don’t want to see your parents?”
She sighed heavily. “That’s not the point. There’s something you should know,”
