Bonus Chapter 2
Days passed, and I didn't notice how everything changed so fast. Perhaps, we were both happy that we didn't even notice that sometimes we were living in a grayish part of our lives. I knew that there was nothing else that I might think about other than being grateful that I was still alive.
However, we were unaware that our child was about to come soon. I was so excited that I couldn't sleep properly. I didn't know what I would say whenever I thought that we would finally meet our baby soon. It felt like it was still the first time that I had a child.
Unfortunately, when my giving birth finally came Andrius made it more difficult because he was always quite busy especially when I gave birth to our second child.
I stared at my baby things, and I put them back together to clean every mess. I was excited to meet Karina again. I would be with my baby once I came to her so she would see him.
I wanted to ask for her advice again like how she managed to keep her healthy relationship with Favio despite that she didn't take good care of her looks.
I didn't know if I was insecure lately, but I gained weight and always smelled like milk. I didn't have the time to sleep in a row because I was taking care of Johnny.
Johnny was our second child, and it was so hard for me because he wasn't that easy to care for. After I finished putting his stuff, I quickly went to meet Karina again. We finally decided to meet at the mall today so we could purchase some items for my baby boy.
When we reached the mall, it wasn't a long time since we met her and her daughter. I was pleased when I saw her daughter walking. She was two years old while Johnny was only nine months that's why he still couldn't walk like her baby.
She waved at me and her daughter to do what she did. I waved back when they started walking in my direction. Karina kissed me on the cheek, and I did the same thing. We patted each other's shoulders on our child.
“I'm sorry for making you wait,” she said.
“I didn't wait for long, Karina.”
We decided to go to the baby clothing store when I started telling her what happened to my life.
”What makes you easily think that he doesn't have the same feelings for you anymore? Are you certain about it?” she asked. Karina approached me while she was holding a little clothing in her hands, she made sure that the clothes would fit her child.
I had Johnny in my arms while we were strolling to search for the clothes for our children that we wanted to purchase. I sighed and stopped to explain everything to her while she continued searching for her daughter's clothes. My fingers were tangled in Johnny's hair when I responded, “I notice that he usually comes home late. Whenever he came home, he frequently gave Johnny his attention, and not to me. Sometimes, whenever he went to his office, he didn't even bother to wake me up to inform me that he would leave.” My chest slightly clenched while I was telling her that.
“It's possible that he doesn't want to wake you up since he understands how exhausted you are. Maybe he is not talking to you much because he wants your attention to be focused elsewhere or in your rest." She returned her attention to what she was doing at the time. What she said brought me to a complete halt. I even considered the possibility of a reason.
I wanted to tell her that I was beginning to believe that Andrius had found a new woman and that he no longer loved me since I wasn't as attractive and seductive as I had been the first time he saw me. Perhaps he had grown bored of my ugly appearance, and this was how he treated me. I followed Karina as she propelled her daughter's stroller. I simply stood back and let her do what she wanted while my thoughts were already fleeing someplace else.
"I have a sneaking doubt that he has a new girlfriend. It's reasonable that he already has a mistress. What should I do in such a situation? What if he suddenly abandons me and takes my kid away from me?" I couldn't hide my worry when I spoke those words. I was aware that it was only a symptom of my stress, therefore this was how I was pondering. I also realized that it was likely that I was just overthinking things in my head, but if I didn't grasp what was going on in my head, I could suddenly get overwrought and go insane.
"Do you know what's sufficient to accomplish when a query keeps bombarding your sanity? It will be preferable if you pay him a visit at his office. Perhaps Andrius is even there, so let's both try together." When she smiled at me, my heart felt softer for a moment. Yes, she was right. It was better for me to investigate the situation since he might be doing an incredible deal in his company and I was only being paranoid.
I gave her a cheesy grin that was completely involuntary. I couldn't keep a smile on my countenance all the way up to my eyes because I couldn't keep my cool when a lot was going through my head. The incapability of my brain to acclimate might stop me from sleeping suitably afterward.
Before she chose to go to the workplace, we went out to eat at a nearby restaurant. She was no longer working since Andrius had stopped her from doing so. In fact, we had chatted so much over the years that I wasn't even sure how we got to be friends. We drove in her vehicle, and I only left my own things at the mall.
When we both stopped in front of the building, she stopped and didn't move while she was looking in front of us. It seemed she spaced out, but before I could check what she might be looking at, she started her car again and drove away.
I grabbed the steering to prevent her from continuing to drive. She gritted her teeth, and I saw where she was looking at.
Andrius was talking to a lady across the street from his building when I saw him. He was chuckling with her, and they seemed they have their world together. He gestured the lady to get inside the car, as he patted her on her head, and opened the door for her.
I made sure that I would witness everything that he had done until he went to the car and drove the car away. We were watching his car moving away from us which made me think that I needed to remember what occurred.
Karina clutched my arm, and I didn't know what he might be thinking. She sighed, and there was an anxiety on her face but she tried to hide it to make her feel better.
“Don't conclude so fast. Maybe, there's a good explanation about what happened.”
It took me a minute to reply, “Yeah, I have trust in him. I know him, he will not dare to do it.” My lips trembled as I cradled Johnny's head in my arms.
