Astrid woke up early on the morning of her wedding day, feeling a mix of emotions. She was excited to start her new life with Prince Ryder, but she was also nervous about becoming a stepmother to his daughter, Sophia.
As she got dressed and ready for the ceremony, Astrid couldn't help but think about the secrets Prince Ryder had kept from her. She wondered what other surprises lay ahead in their marriage.
When she arrived at the chapel, Prince Ryder was already there, looking handsome and calm. Sophia, his daughter, was standing beside him, looking adorable in her flower girl dress.
The ceremony was beautiful, with Astrid and Prince Ryder exchanging vows and rings in front of their friends and family. As they sealed their union with a kiss, Astrid felt a sense of commitment and belonging.
But as they turned to face their guests, Astrid saw a woman standing in the back of the chapel, looking furious. She was dressed in a red gown, and her eyes were fixed intently on Prince Ryder.
Who was this woman, and why did she look so angry? Astrid wondered.
As the reception got underway, Astrid couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off. She tried to focus on the celebration and her new life with Prince Ryder, but she couldn't help but wonder about the secrets he still kept from her.
And then, just as they were about to cut the cake, the woman in red stormed out of the reception hall, leaving behind a trail of whispers and curious glances.
Astrid felt a sense of foreboding. Who was this woman, and what did she want from Prince Ryder?
Astrid's curiosity got the better of her, and she turned to Prince Ryder. "Who was that woman?" she asked, her voice low.
Prince Ryder's expression turned grim. "That was Sophia's mother," he said. "She's not happy about our marriage."
Astrid's eyes widened in surprise. "Why not?" she asked.
Prince Ryder sighed. "It's complicated," he said. "Let's just say she's not willing to let go of the past."
Astrid felt a pang of unease. What secrets was Prince Ryder still keeping from her?
As the reception continued, Astrid couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off. She tried to focus on the celebration and her new life with Prince Ryder, but she couldn't help but wonder about the secrets he still kept from her.
And then, just as they were about to leave, Sophia's mother appeared again, this time with a venomous look in her eyes.
"You'll never be able to replace me," she hissed, her voice dripping with malice.
Astrid felt a surge of fear. Who was this woman, and what did she want from Prince Ryder?
Prince Ryder stepped forward, his expression calm. "I don't want to replace you," he said. "I just want to move on with my life."
The woman's eyes flashed with anger, and she turned to Astrid. "You have no idea what you've gotten yourself into," she spat.
And with that, she turned and disappeared into the night, leaving Astrid feeling shaken and unsure of what lay ahead.
Astrid couldn't shake off the feeling of unease as she and Prince Ryder left the reception hall. The encounter with Sophia's mother had left her feeling unsettled.
"Who is she?" Astrid asked Prince Ryder as they walked to their carriage.
Prince Ryder sighed. "Her name is Victoria," he said. "She's Sophia's mother, and my ex-fiancée."
Astrid's eyes widened in surprise. "Ex-fiancée?" she repeated.
Prince Ryder nodded. "We were engaged to be married, but I realized I couldn't go through with it," he said. "I ended the engagement, and she was furious."
Astrid felt a pang of sympathy for Prince Ryder. She could only imagine how difficult that must have been for him.
As they rode in silence, Astrid couldn't help but wonder what other secrets Prince Ryder was keeping from her.
When they arrived at the palace, Sophia was waiting up for them, looking anxious.
"Father, what happened?" she asked, looking up at Prince Ryder.
Prince Ryder knelt down beside her. "Everything is okay, Sophia," he said. "Your mother is just upset, that's all."
Sophia looked uncertain, and Astrid felt a surge of compassion for the little girl.
As they tucked Sophia into bed, Astrid couldn't help but feel a sense of responsibility towards her new stepdaughter.
But as she looked at Prince Ryder, she couldn't shake off the feeling that there was still so much she didn't know about him.
And then, just as they were about to leave Sophia's room, Astrid saw something that made her heart skip a beat.
A piece of paper on Sophia's nightstand, with a message scrawled in red ink:
"Victoria was telling the truth. You have no idea what you've gotten yourself into."
Astrid's heart raced as she picked up the piece of paper. Who could have written this? And what did they mean?
Prince Ryder's expression turned grim as he saw the paper in Astrid's hand. "Where did this come from?" he demanded.
Sophia looked scared. "I don't know, Father," she said. "I found it on my nightstand when I went to bed."
Astrid felt a chill run down her spine. This was getting creepier by the minute.
Prince Ryder took the paper from Astrid and examined it. "This is Victoria's handwriting," he said. "She must have snuck into the palace and left this here."
Astrid's mind was racing. What did Victoria want from them? And what secrets was Prince Ryder still keeping from her?
As they left Sophia's room, Astrid turned to Prince Ryder. "Tell me the truth," she said. "What's going on? What secrets are you keeping from me?"
Prince Ryder hesitated, then nodded. "I'll tell you everything," he said. "But you have to promise me one thing."
"What's that?" Astrid asked.
"You have to promise me you'll trust me," Prince Ryder said. "No matter what I tell you."
Astrid took a deep breath. She wasn't sure if she was ready for this, but she nodded. "I promise," she said.
And with that, Prince Ryder began to tell her the truth.
