Chapter 41: I Came

Kaitlyn

I was still scared of that voice. Even if it has  been two hours since the call, I still am so afraid and I curse myself for not seeing who called me. If I would have seen the number, I could have reported it to the Police.

But the number vanished too.

Now, I was just left with nothing but fear in myself.

I was looking at the watch and was preparing my resume on my laptop. I still had no idea what would happen but I need this job deliberately.

It was finally 4 PM and I was all ready to be picked up by him. I went down and waited for him in the reception.

I finally saw him and he smiled warmly at me. “Hey Kaitlyn”

“Hello Kurt” I smiled.

“Let’s go”

I nodded and he took my hand and we sat down in his car. I sat down comfortably and he looked at me and smiled. “I am so lucky to do this with you”

“Same here” I smiled back.

He started driving at a normal speed. However, it felt like someone was behind us. I tried to see if someone was there by the mirror, but there were just a few cars.

“Is everything okay?” I heard Kurt.

“Yeah yeah” I replied with a nervous smile. Somehow, it felt like there was someone who was definitely following us.

Maybe it was related to that phone call and that thought made shivers run down my spine. Even though the real voice of the person wouldn’t be distorted and that terrifying, he seemed so dangerous.

I sat down and my heartbeat was already at its peak. “I think you need a rest. Are you alright?” he asked again.

I decided to tell him. “There is this black car following us,” I told him. “I am scared”

He looked at the back by the rear view mirror. “Let’s confirm it”

I nodded and he took the nearest turn. The car still followed us. “Fine, let’s just take one more and then we will do something”

I nodded and he took another turn. The car followed us yet again. It seemed as if the driver wanted us to notice them too.

“Fine, I will talk to him”

I was scared of him. “Wait”

He looked at me. “Yeah?”

“He might be dangerous”

“doesn’t matter, let me”

We were just talking in the car when the car passed from the side and went in front of us. We looked at it and I sighed. “Maybe it was not following us after all”

He sighed back. “Okay. Let's go. He already delayed us”

“Hm”

He drove a little fast towards our destination. Whatever he thinks, I am sure that the car was following us.

After the interview, I was so happy. “You did so well!” Kurt exclaimed as we walked out of the building, his hand in mine.

“Not more than you”

We laughed and smiled. We both were selected to work there.

As we made our way back to the car, the same car came and went from front of us.

“Did you see it?” I asked him.

“Maybe another one. There are many black cars '' He shrugged and dragged me to his car. “Now sit down and stop worrying yourself”

I smiled. “okay”

He started the car and drove to the hotel. I was still scared of everything and just wanted that man to go away.

Luckily, I didn’t see him on the way home. I was looking everywhere but he didn’t seem to follow us anymore.

He parked the car in front of the hotel and got out. He again took my hand. “Can I come with you? To your room?” he asked me.

I was scared to be alone anyway, so I nodded. “yes”

He smiled and then we went to my room. He came inside. “as I expected, clean and tidy”

“Haha of course”

He smiled and came to me. He looked at me and then kissed me. I kissed him back. “I am lucky to meet you,” he whispered.

“Same”

He smiled and kissed me more. I kissed him back. His hands went to my back and somewhere, I was being conscious of his steps.

I knew the farthest I could go with him was just kissing. Not even making out completely.

Fortunately, he stopped after kissing me and gave me a warm smile. “I will see you later then”

I nodded. “Yeah sure”

I smiled at him and he smiled back. After giving me one last look, he went out.

I was relieved that the room was safe. I went to the bathroom and started taking a bath. Suddenly, I heard noises from my room.

“Who’s it?” I asked one time and repeated, but there was noreply.

Finally, I sighed and wrapped the towel around my body. I opened the door and went out. There was no one.

“Who’s there?” I asked.

“I heard someone from behind. I dared not to turn. “I came”
