Chapter 76 Surname
Nala looked at Thea who was staring at Fernando. Nala for the first time could see the resemblance. She knew who Fernando is and that he is Thea's father but both of them standing in close proximity made her see how much Thea looks like him.
Nala panicked, she thought of a way for them to get out of this situation. Her first instinct was to turn around and leave.
“Thea I think we should just go home and eat home made food. We will ask the chef to make your favorite. While I give you a cookie to eat first” Naa said to her
Thea immediately agreed
Nala was glad she had agreed instead of pouting it sadly.
Nala turned around while still holding Thea firmly.
“Stop,” Femenado said and walked up to them.
Nala's heart beat fast. He might recognize her.
Fernando prevented them from leaving. Everyone in the restaurant turned and watched them.
He stood in front of them and looked at Nala "You are Ana’s sister, I’m sure of it. I have seen your photo before. Although you look a bit different but you are her sister”
Nala looked at him in silence, her heart beating really fast.
“You are with the child of the woman that looks like your sister. How come? And when did you and your mother return back to the county?”
“Sorry Mr, but we need to leave” Nala said
“Not until you answer this question k lady. Let’s sit down somewhere and talk” Femenado said.
“We are in a hurry” Nala managed to say.
“Just a few minutes, I have been looking for you and your mother for years. I want to ask you what happened 6 years ago and right now” Fernando said with a serious tone.
Nala ran out of what to say to him. She had not prepared herself for such a situation.
Thea looked at Fernando. She knew him to be the man that her mother said she should not speak to in public and just say only hello"
“Aunty, I suddenly have a running stomach. Let’s go home quickly” Thea held her tummy and pretended like she was in pain.
“Oh mine, let’s go” Nala carried her and rushed her out of the restaurant.
Fernando had gone outside too and watched as the vehicle they came with drove off on the road.
He had surprisingly felt concerned when that child was in pain which made him rush out too.
Eric looked at his boss “She looks like you boss and that woman is Ana’s sister as you have said. I’m beginning to think that you might be right, the coincidence are just too much”
“How is the forensic examination going?” Fenenaid asked
“Nothing yet, the body is decayed so it will take a little more time”
“Ask them to hurry or else I will shut down their lab for wasting my time! Fernando said impatiently.
“I will do so boss, anything else” Eric asked
“And find out when Ana's family returned to the country. Also find out what Emiliano has been up to”
“Sir I thought your where under restriction”
“The restriction is for that woman and her child, none of the persons I mentioned is listed under my restriction. Now get to work? Fernando ordered.
“I will do as you have said” Eric adjusted his glasses as they walked to the car waiting for them and got in.
That evening, Nala told Ana about her encounter with Fernando and her sister was surprisingly calm. The only person who seemed worried was Emiliano.
“How was he there when he was under restriction?” Emiliano asked.
“I think it was a coincidence” Nala said “He was coming out with some business partners” Nala said.
“You never can tell, he must have known you people will be there at that time” Emiliano said
Nala thought about it. She found it impossible because of the time frame. There is no way he would have known they had plans of going to the restaurant when it’s a last minute decision.
Emiliano looked at Ana who has been silent and has said nothing about it
“What are you going to do now Ana? I’m sure by now he would already know when they arrived and see that they have the same surname.
“I will tell him what I already planned to say which is that I had changed their name to mine so that he will not be able to find them”
“He will find it suspicious,” Emiliano said.
Yes but he still can’t prove I’m the Ana he knows
“ I can't believe he already saw Thea's face before now. To think Thea pretended to have a running stomach just so I do not get to answer his questions. She is soo smart, Nala said like a proud aunty.
Ana smiled
Emiliano could not help but feel that he was more worried about all this than Ana was. He deep down doesn't want Fernando to get close to Ana.
He loves Ana so much and still hopes that one day she will open her heart to love him. Fernando finding out it is her might prevent that from happening and he doesn’t want that.
“The day of my inauguration is set” Emiliano said as the chef served the dessert after they finished dinner.
Ana smiled “Congratulations”
Nala congratulated him too.
It was just the three of them having dinner while Thea was asleep and her mother had left early to go visit a relative and plan on returning tomorrow.
“We should celebrate,” Ana said as she told the butler to get champagne.
When the champagne was brought they made a toast and drank it.
Fernando was in his home office when he got the email that contained the information of Ana's family.
In the email, the day and time they arrived and also their full information including what she has been up to was stated.
Fernando was shocked when he saw that they were bearing the same surname as that woman.
How is this even possible? Doesn’t this mean that she is Ana?
Thinking about this was making him go crazy.
He remembered that he had the contact of that woman but he had never called her with it.
She doesn’t know he has her number.
He dialed her number hoping she picked.
Ana picked but said nothing since she did not know who was calling. She heard the breathing of the person and wondered who it was.
“Ana” Fernando said
Ana’s heart skipped, how did he even get her number? She wondered to herself.
