Chapter 26 Difficult Time
Ana shaken the thoughts from her mind, she didn’t want to assume his action had a different meaning.
“I am not going, so let go of me”
Fernando let go of her and she went into the room.
She laid on the bed but found it difficult to sleep, what happened now replayed in her head. The way he had acted made her feel like she was his real wife receiving instructions from her husband.
“Ana didn't overthink” She said to herself and slept off since she has a long day tomorrow.
The next day she got up early and got dressed. She styled her hair in a ponytail.
Ana headed out and was surprised to see Fernando still around. Although it was 8am but she thought he had left long before she woke up.
He sat on the couch working on his laptop. With the way he was looking, she could tell he did not have enough sleep last night. Seems like he was up at midnight working.
So this is how the life of a billionaire looks like? Wow, Ana said inwardly..
Making money is surely not easy, especially running several companies. One man being the chairman of all that.
If her business grows big in the future and including being a lawyer, is this how she will work? The thought alone made Ana shiver but then if it’s all it takes to be very rich and successful woman, she will do it. If others are doing it why can’t she.
Noticing she had been standing there staring for long, Fernando raised his head and gave her a questioning look.
“What is it again?”
“Again?”
“Yes, since I can’t tell what goes on in that little head of yours, most especially after using the kiss that was a mistake as a weapon against me to get what you want. And where are you dressed?” Fernando questioned when he saw her fully dressed.
“To see my parents, I want to open a new business. I need to see then to discuss everything and also look for suppliers and a store location”
Fernando raised his brow in astonishment “You think opening a business is a child’s play. Just few days ago, you wanted to go for your law school, now a business. You sure have no right direction”
“Since you did not allow me to go to law school. Can’t I open a business?” Ana was yet to reveal that she had taken the entrance exam.
Fernando paid attention to his screen “There is no need since it will take over 4 months to get your business registered and also other licenses depending on the type of your business. By then I will be done with you”
Ana's eyes widened “What!! It takes that long?”
Fernando looked up at her “You thought it was a child’s play? You thought you could just wake up one day and start a business, didn’t anyone advise you?”
Ana sighed “Well it’s just four months, I will get every other thing ready while I wait for my business to get registered”
“Farewell then”
Ana left the room feeling discouraged but she will not going to allow the feeling to stay for long since 4 months is not that long to wait.
Ana went down stairs to have breakfast and that was when she remembered that she did not call or check up on Mrs Buenavista after she returned yesterday.
She asked Elisa about her and she said she was resting in her room. Ana wanted to go see her in her room but Elisa refused that Mrs Buenavista had said that she doesn’t want to be disturbed.
She understood but then asked how her meeting with the doctor went yesterday but Elisa did not tell her anything.
Ana did not insist and left the house without having breakfast. She did not want to have breakfast alone when she could just go to her parents house and have breakfast.
She hoped Mrs Buenavista’s meeting with the doctor had gone well. She is suffering from a neurodegenerative disease, she has only been able to manage it through treatments which is why she has so far not lost her cognitive and physical functions. Ana was worried that maybe the treatment might fail and her death time would be cut short, and worse she would have an uneasy death.
Ana sighed sadly, she has learned to love that woman so much.
She got to her parents house and they were so happy to see her. She had breakfast with them and enjoyed every bit of it because it was her family and she could be her real self with them. No faking attitude or accent, she is Ana with them.
After breakfast they discussed their new business plan with so much excitement. Nala seems to be more excited. She was now able to move around freely. She is happy seeing her family happy.
Ana had also told them she had written the law school entrance exam and they were so happy for her.
After spending much time with her parents she went to check store locations, in different good business areas.
It was 8pm when she returned back to the family house, as she walked inside she saw Mrs Buenavista seated in her favorite couch with a cup of tea in her hand and a very bright smile on her face while looking at her.
Ana smiled at her and walked towards her “Good evening mother in law" she bowed her head.
“Good evening my dear, I have been waiting for you to get back”
Ana sat close to her “I was busy with lots of things. I’m sorry for not checking up on you when you came back yesterday”
“It’s fine, I was tired so I retired early”
“What did the doctor say?”
Mrs Buenavista smiled “He said there is a new treatment I need to try, so I will start it soon”
“Is there any benefit, will things change if you use it”
Mrs Buenavista’s hesitated “well, not really, he said it’s just the recent kind of treatment used to maintain my physical and cognitive functions, not like it will stop me from dieing”
Ana sighed sadly "When will you start the treatment? Will the doctor be coming over every now and then”
“No, I will have to always go to the hospital”
“Then I will follow you when ever you go, please let me be by your side in this difficult time”
Mrs Buenavista dropped her tea and held her hand “You are so sweet dear, I would really love for you to come but there is no need”
“There are days I will need to spend the night in the hospital. You just got married, you should always be at home to welcome your husband. The head maid Elisa will always be with me, you do not have to worry”
