Chapter 57 Cornered By The Past
When she opened the door, Wilson was standing at the entrance of the room. Her heart sank immediately.
"Wilson?" Amanda stammered, her voice quivering. "That can't be."
"Well it is," Wilson responded, chuckling.
"How the hell did you get in here?" You.." Amanda was lost for words. She couldn't believe he had come to her room unannounced and without Rowan seeing him"
"This is my brother's house, remember," Wilson replied. "And I believe the best thing for you right now is to let me in, else.."
"Else.. What?" Amanda snapped.
He pushed past her, entering the room without another word. Amanda's eyes widened in surprise, and she quickly turned to him, her back against the opened door.
"What are you doing Wilson? I am going to call your brother" Amanda yelled softly, more like a whisper.
"Good idea. But if I were you, I would close that door first." Wilson said. He was already sitting on the couch, making himself comfortable.
Just as she was about to say something to Wilson, she heard footsteps approaching the door. Panic surged through her as she realized it might be Rowan. She quickly closed the door behind her.
"You are going to put me in trouble by coming here," Amanda said, pacing the room.
"If it gets me back what is mine, then it is a win-win," Wilson said, still chuckling.
Amanda's eyes darted around, searching for a way to handle this delicate situation.
Wilson, noticing her anxiety, whispered hurriedly, "We need to talk. I know this is risky, but please, let's have a conversation."
"And the best way to have a conversation is by breaking into your brother's house, into my room" Amanda snapped. Her breathing now very fast.
"Technically, I didn't break into it." Wilson scoffed. "Look, you can't be with Rowan"
"And why is that?" Amanda asked.
"Because you love me," Wilson exclaimed.
Amanda scoffed. "Wilson, are you mentally derailed because it seems like it? Listen to yourself. I have not set my eyes on you in how many years again? 8 years, I think. And you are here, telling me I still love you. That's sick."
"Love is sick," Wilson whispered.
"Come on" Amanda cried out of frustration.
"Amanda, I still love you. I didn't know that you still had such a hold on me until I set my eyes on you again at the mall. Since then I could not get you off my mind. I yearn for you, Amanda."
"That's your problem." Amanda sighed heavily. "I do not have any feelings left for you so please leave."
"Yes, you do. You didn't tell me about Rowan when I met you at the mall because you thought something good could still come out of us. We were great together. You miss that. You still want that." Wilson said. He stood from the couch and walked up to Amanda.
"Is that the lie you have been telling yourself? That is not happening. Get it straight Wilson, I do not love you. If there is anyone I love, then it is Rowan." Amanda said softly.
Wilson misinterpreted her softness as a sign that he was right. He wanted to use that to his advantage. "If? You don't love him, right?" He tried to hold her shoulders but Amanda pushed him away.
"Get away from me!" Amanda yelled.
"My hands don't hurt you know," Wilson said softly, trying to show that he was disappointed by Amanda's denial of him.
"Wilson, please leave," Amanda said with pity. Tears gathered in the corner of her eyes, ready to flow down her cheeks.
"I will. I just want you to tell me one thing." Wilson began, walking to Amanda again. Amanda read his expression and was scared. She took a step away from him with every step he took closer."
"Tell me you do not love Rowan and I would leave now," Wilson demanded.
"Wilson, Amanda called out softly, in fear.
"Tell me you don't want him and you can't be with him." Wilson's voice increased in volume and tempo. Amanda could sense the tension building higher. She was closer to the bed and she aimed for her phone.
Wilson snapped the phone away from her immediately she touched it. "Tell me you do not love him." He yelled while Amanda sobbed. "Tell me you do not love my brother"
"Stop saying brother" Amanda yelled at him. It was a reflex action but Amanda loved the impact it had on him so she pressured on.
"You were never a member of the Xi family. You were a poor stinking boy I met when I was stupid. You had nothing and I fed you with the money I didn't have. You could hardly buy a thing for yourself not to talk of me. No birthday gifts because you were broke. No special treatment because you couldn't treat yourself right and then you cheated because you were just a boy." Amanda yelled at Wilson.
To her surprise, he started laughing. The laughter was loud and hilarious enough to irritate and confuse Amanda.
"There is a lot you need to know," Wilson began. "As much as you hate the idea of me calling Rowan my brother, it is a sad reality you now have to deal with."
"No, I don't. You are Wilson Bradford. And that…" Amanda snapped but was immediately interrupted by Wilson. "I'm Wilson Xi"
Silence took over the atmosphere. Amanda was trying to process Wilson's affirmation and it seemed Wilson was giving her time to.
"Listen to me, Amanda." Wilson started. "I ran away from home. Thanks to Rowan. He was the golden boy of the Xi family. Intelligent, smart, proud. Yeah, he should be, everyone was and is. At a very young age, Dad had already handed over the majority of his companies to him."
Amanda used the opportunity to get away from the corner she was in and moved closer to the door.
"I needed to find myself. I wanted to make them see, my dad especially, that I'm his son too. But I guess I was wrong. I suffered and was too arrogant to go back. Until reality hit me. I wasn't supposed to be running. I was supposed to be fighting for everything that belongs to me that Rowan has taken away. Including you." Wilson said, trying to grab Amanda again.
"No" Amanda shook her head as she dodged his grip.
"Yes, Amanda," Wilson said, grabbing Amanda's left arm forcefully. "You are mine and I will do anything I can do to stop Rowan from having you."
"Good luck with that," Amanda yelled. "Get away from me."
"You think I will do that?" Wilson pushed Amanda to the wall and she gasped in pain. "Now I take whatever I want by force." He whispered into her ear.
Amanda's heart was racing as his mouth drew closer to hers. "I will scream," she whispered.
"No, you won't," Wilson whispered too.
Amanda was trying to pull him away but his grip was strong enough to hold her to the wall. She could feel the pain in her back and shoulders.
Seeing that there was nothing she could do, Amanda closed her eyes, tears running down her cheeks. She held her mouth closed tightly. Suddenly, there was a slight knock on the door.
