“Do you miss your husband so much that you had to eat in the car?” Melda asked Rhiannon who was busy eating.
Hearing her words, Rhiannon gave her a disdainful look before continuing to eat her food as she wasn’t in the mood to discuss it with anyone about Octavius and her.
Although she was angry at the man and didn’t want to talk to him, he didn’t want the others to love their marriage no matter who they were.
She stared at her aunt for a long as she thought that she had overstayed in that place one of the reasons that she had gone to live there was that she didn’t want to be disturbed by Kaylee and her family and also that she would be lonely at home.
“Why are you staring at me like that?” Melda asked with a frown while Rhiannon shook her head indicating that it was anything.
This made Melda give her a disbelief look which Rhiannon sighed at.
Other than her mother and her nanny Mary, she felt that Melda was the other person who knew her better.
“Okay. I just think that Octavius and I should return to our home. I was there because he was in the capital but now that he is back, I don’t think there is any reason to continue being there,” Rhiannon said
Melda stared at her feeling hurt that she didn’t want to continue staying at her place as she had already boosted to the other apprentices that their master trusted her so much and she was living at her place.
If they knew, she was sure that they would laugh at her and mock her.
Seeing her aunt’s face darkening, Rhiannon was puzzled why was that but even after thinking for a long time, she couldn’t understand what she had said wrong or what made her angry.
After some minutes of silence, she remembered her promise to the family and felt like face-slapping herself.
“How could I forget?” she asked herself succeeding in getting Melda’s attention who raised her eyebrows at her words as she didn’t understand what the latter had forgotten.
“Although I am leaving, I will continue visiting your guys as I still need to help you guys in making the perfume successfully. Also, I promised the girls that I would guide them through perfumery as I followed my mother’s instructions,” Rhiannon said causing the latter to stare at her.
“Did the teacher leave some guides to you?” Melda asked in disbelief as she wondered why she had never noticed such things.
“Yeah,” Rhiannon answered without giving her any explanation as she felt that she didn’t need to as they were hers and not theirs.
If not for the fact that she found out that the companies they were all managing were hers, she wouldn’t have even cared for them even a little bit no matter who they were.
Hearing her answer, Melda’s eyes shone as she knew that if her teacher had left something behind then it would be in no time before they overtook the other big families which they found challenging.
“Can you lend me with them?” she asked excitedly but the joy and happiness in Rhiannon’s eyes dimmed upon hearing her words and they turned cold.
“Why?” she asked without even looking at the latter in fear that she would frighten her with the coldness in her eyes.
“You are asking why? I believe that with the teacher’s book, it will be a few weeks before we surpass the Andersons and the Rodriguezs. They had been ruling this place businesses for so long and I think it’s high time the country changed its hand,” Melda said Rhiannon’s eyes turned colder, and rolled her eyes when she heard her words.
“First of all, those families are also many families, you should talk about them like that,” she said coldly stunning the latter as she couldn’t understand why she had suddenly changed.
“But Rhiannon, don’t you want us to dominate the business world?” she asked in confusion her eyes full of questions.
“Yes, I do but at the same time, I don’t want to make enemies with my husband’s family. I don’t want to be a disappointment and be forced to divorce,” Rhiannon said as she inwardly sighed.
Although she and Octavius had problems since he had laughed at her when she said that she would take the company to high levels, she felt that it wasn’t up to the others to question their decisions.
Yes, she wanted to prove Octavius wrong but at the same time, she wanted to prove to his family that although she didn’t have any backing, she wasn’t a pushover as she wasn’t planning on telling them about her mother’s empire since she didn’t know whether they were foes or friends yet.
Melda was confused at her behavior but she didn’t dare question it as it was treason to question their master.
“Does that mean that we won’t overtake them?” she asked with a frown nonetheless as her decision didn’t sit well with her.
Although she was familiar with both the Andersons and the Rodriguez and knew how protective they were of their own, she didn’t think that would risk all their hard work just to protect Rhiannon when her enemies emerged.
Rhiannon looked at her and shook her head. She will indeed overtake them but she knew that she couldn’t overtake their core industries as she didn’t want trouble. So even if she and Octavius had a disagreement and it pushed her fighting spirits up, she knew that as long she didn’t threaten them, there was no problem. Concerning what will happen in the future, she didn’t know
That was one of the main reasons she didn’t tell Octavius a lot.
“I am sorry. But can you lend me the master’s book? I promise we won’t overtake them without some plans and arrangements,” Melda said as she looked at Rhiannon.
This time, Rhiannon didn’t avoid her gaze and coldly stared at the latter causing her to flinch and feel like she should just hide.
“Why should I lend you something so personal?” she asked coldly.
“How can it be considered personal? It was left by the master to take the companies to a higher level,” Melda replied stubbornness in her eyes causing Rhiannon to chuckle at her words.
“That’s where you are wrong. Mother left those for me so that I could dominate the business world and not take the companies to a higher level. That was your work doing that but you failed. It is I who wants to help you guys to achieve my mom’s goal but not because I have to!” Rhiannon said coldly stunning Melda.
“The books were left by Mom as the family’s heirloom, they would be passed from one generation to generation to help in ruling the business empire not to be given to you,” she added coldly while staring at Melda who was still in shock after hearing her previous words.
“Aunt Melda, please don’t ask for something that never belonged to you. I decide to help you all and at the same time, I decide not to and opt to open a company. I never knew about the companies and although I stop helping you guys you will still be my servants as you swore an oath to always serve her mother and her bloodline. Aunt, please remember your place,” Rhiannon said coldly although it was never her intention to talk to the latter at that time.
It was also because she respected her, that I continued calling her aunt even after knowing that she was my subordinate.
Was Melda angry at Rhiannon and how she spoke to her? No! She realized that she had indeed crossed the line and started panicking since she wondered what would happen to them if they didn’t have the master’s support.
Looking at everything, it seemed that Sabrina had planned for her bloodline future and everything. Thus following them as their subordinate in the future was like hitting a jackpot for her and her future generation.
“I am sorry young miss,” she said with her head lowered.
“I shouldn’t have had ideas on what doesn’t belong to me. I should have been satisfied with what you are giving to me,” Melda said sincerely.
Shedding off the title of Rhiannon’s elder and wearing the title of Rhiannon’s servant.
Rhiannon shook her head as she felt uneasiness with how the latter was behaving.
Although she had been told that Melda and her family were her servants, there was no day or time she saw Melda behaving like a servant. Instead, she behaved like her elder and Rhiannon never complained to her, she felt that the latter was more of her elder than a servant.
“Please stop that. It's good that you understand that there are some things that cannot be shared. However, I reassured the girls that I would always guide them thus there is no need for you to worry,” she said stunning Melda and she started shedding tears.
“Thank you. Thank you,” she said as she felt glad that her daughters had found favor in front of Rhiannon and knew that their future was limitless and would always be her trusted servant.
There was nothing else Melda could ask for other than her future generation to be in safe hands.
"I am pleased to know that my children have found favor in your eyes, My family will also be loyal to you and your family. Sorry for my previous actions and disrespect."
